This place is great tamales are great as well only thing is today i got 12 tamales for Christmas and found a hair inside my tamale thought it was mine until i pulled it and it literally slid right out of the inside of the tamale was like 2" long, it is not deadly but its kind of nasty.

Been awhile since I've been here. I ordered the pork tamale plate. The tamale is good with beans & rice. The tortilla chips are a bit over cooked. Overall it's ok. Tamales are $4 each which is a bit pricey, but worth it.

I was looking for a Tamale spot to order a dozen for Christmas. Definitely wanted to try them out before committing to a dozen. I got one beef and one chicken with a side of rice and beans. Each one is pretty good size. Both were excellent. Masa wasn't dry and right amount of moisture. The meat to masa ratio could've been better. The rice and beans were absolutely delicious. The price for everything was very reasonable. They had single chairs set up while you wait for Take Out Orders. Dining area is limited seating. Establishment was well kept and clean. Parking is a little tight but plenty of spaces. I'd definitely recommend them for breakfast or tamales.

Location is great, there is no parking if you do get a spot it's a tight one. Had some tamales from here before. This time I sat down ordered the Castillo in Salsa Verde, not spicy at all. With hand made tortillas It was good, but the Costillas, some of them were hot and some of them cold not good. But were delicious. Pork tamales were a bit disappointing expensive and really no meat in them for the price.

Yes, it's that time of year again - my yearly hunt for a new place for tamales. Today I visited Tamale House in North Hills after seeing write ups about this place on various reputable sites. I got the chicken with green sauce and the pork with red sauce. My tamale of preference is pork with red sauce. While the meat was generous, the sauce wasn't on point to my tastebuds and the masa was missing something. For a tamale to be good to me, the masa has to be delectable. I don't typically gravitate towards chicken tamales but it had green sauce so you know I had to try one. The chicken was very flavorful and the portions of meat were generous, but it could have had more green sauce. I asked for a side of green sauce, which was really yummy. But as stated above, the masa just didn't meet my criteria. Note that the tamales are pretty big so that's a plus, I just wish they were worth the hype and the drive. The staff was friendly and there was ample space to dine in. The parking is an issue. The lot is tiny and people will park anywhere, making it hard to pull out. Also, the spaces are small so if you are extra about your car like me, then it may be an anxiety-ridden meal lol. Just be careful if you park in there because cars will pull out and disregard they're about to back onto you. Unfortunately, this place doesn't get a yummy in my tummy rating. The tamales weren't bad, they just aren't worthy of an honorable mention nor worthy of making the list of best tamales. We each have different tastes so I respect that but my usual haunts are still superior to this place. If anyone has any recs, I'm all ears. I've tried pretty much all of the famous places in and around LA and I'm not interested in these new artisan tamales.

This juicy, dish was so delicious. This is called, chille reñeno with a red chille sauce pork tamal. This order came with rice and beans.

Yes they where good , I definitely will visit this place again. To my surprise the beans where good as well, I older extra egg on my plate.

    Chicken tamale . Super wet

1 . Customer Service, girl in the front is not nice. She rolls her eyes when you are talking , and she does say anything when you say Thank you . 2 . Tamales are WAY TO THICK , MASA TO MEAT ratio is terrible. Restaurant did smell good however, like comfort food . I am big on service the woman in the front was enough for me not to return , to give the other foods a try.

The ceviche was bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced with that clean citrus kick that keeps you going back for more. A standout detail for me was the unlimited Colombian coffee -- smooth, aromatic, and constantly refilled, which made the whole meal feel extra warm and welcoming. Gilma, who took care of our table, provided truly amazing service: friendly, attentive, and effortlessly on top of everything without hovering. Prices are very reasonable especially considering the big portions and overall quality, and the plenty of parking makes the visit even more convenient. It's not soggy and it holds its shape. The birria consomé itself is something I come back for by itself. You can definitely taste the cloves. I reccomend asking for more lime. They've definitely improved a lot service wise! More than a year ago it took my and my friends more than 20-30 minutes to get our food. It was really off putting but the birria was enough to come back and I live really close. Last couple times I've gone this year and late last year they have improved to less than 15 minutes depending on the size of the order. Their baja fish and shrimp tacos taste just like the ones alongside baja california (i know since i did a roadtrip along that coast) If you like fish tacos it's a must try!! Come here please you won't be disappointed!! Your Mexican parents won't be disappointed either (mine loved it) On a side note, la plaza del valle is an open area concept. They only have outdoor seating so plan accordingly since it absorbs any weather. They have multiple murals and wall art/decor to honor mexican culture and other latino cultures in the plaza (of which I am so proud of) Parking is nice and easy in the back. Check it out!

Parking is on the side lot toward the back of the restaurant, and there's a short walk around the corner to get inside. The restaurant itself is small and pretty tight, especially since it's on a little corner. When we arrived, all the tables inside were full and there was already a line to order. You order first and then find a seat. They do have three tables outside if you prefer outdoor seating. Once we ordered, most of the tables inside became available, but all of them still had plates and cups left behind. We sat down at one and asked the lady at the front if someone could clean it for us. Quite a while went by, and no one came. Eventually someone came out to clean a different table across from us, but ours was still full of dishes. It definitely felt like they didn't have an organized system no clear roles for taking orders, cleaning tables, or running food. When our food was ready, the lady brought it out while our table was still full of plates from the previous customers. She looked at us holding the plates and we told her we had asked earlier for the table to be cleaned. She apologized, cleaned it off, and came back with the food. The plates didn't come out at the same time either everything came out one by one. Service was definitely off and felt a bit chaotic. Now the good part the food. The food is delicious. I ordered the pozole, which comes in the cutest little pot super aesthetic and really good. My husband ordered the chilaquiles divorciados and they were solid. The place is small and the tables are tightly set, so it does get loud, especially when it's busy. And we went during the week around 11:30-12:00, which I thought would be slower, but they were still pretty busy. I can only imagine how packed it gets on weekends. Would I recommend it? Yes for the food. The flavors are worth it. Just be prepared for slow service, a crowded dining room, and a bit of disorganization. If you go in knowing that, you'll enjoy it a lot more.
