I had the Garlic Butter Sizzling Prawns, see picture. Shrimp, vegetables, and cheese. It wasn't bad at all. Everything was well cooked and taste as it should. The staff were friendly and attentive, the place felt nice and inviting. The one big drawback is the price. I found that for what it is the price of everything was very high. One star deducted for that. Would I recommend it? Sure? Give it a go

I'm from Southern California so I know Mexican food. There is not a large Mexican population in London to provide the kind of authentic menus like you will find in London Indian restaurants. But after days of pub food, Indian and Italian we decided to give it a try. This is a nicely decorated little restaurant with a nice attentive staff. Was the food different from what we were used to? Yes, but it was very tasty. My wife had chicken tacos served on a large platter with separate portions to build your own taco. They had Mexican rice but no refried or black beans or lettuce for the tacos. The tacos were hard shell. I had fajitas and they were very good but served without a side of rice. The portions were very large. If you are in Pimlico, close to Victoria station, give it a try

And it's okay. The ingredients in the burrito I had were fresh and fairly tasty, but overall it was a bit dry too - perhaps some Guacamole at 70 pence extra would have made a difference. I don't think the burritos are up there with Chilango's or Tortilla and I think they may need to consider introducing some cheaper options (burritos start from £5.50) given the many tasty lunch alternatives available nearby (e.g. Tachbrook Street market) for noticeably less, but Taquito's is a very welcome addition nevertheless. I'll be back to try some more of their wares and may update my review then.

Our waitress was friendly and attentive and took our drink order quickly. We ordered a wahacacolada and a mojito, and both were great. For dinner, we ordered the slow-cooked beef burrito, which arrived at our table quickly. The beef was tender and the burrito was very good. While we enjoyed the meal, I wouldn't consider it authentic Mexican cuisine, it has more of a modern twist which is probably what their aiming for anyway. Between the excellent service, great ambiance, tasty drinks, and enjoyable meal, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to eat in London.

For the longest time I had been saying that Strutton Ground needed a mexican street food stand -…read moreand low and behold about year and a half ago, Santana Grill arrived. I quickly became a regular as frankly, there's nothing bad on the menu but some things are just really exceptional. For one, the chicken tinga is the best I've had - period. It's slow cooked with slices of chorizo and is so flavourful it's unbelievable. Just thinking about it now is making my mouth water. The pulled pork is also really good and is right up there with my favourites anywhere - you can tell that they haven't just dumped the same spice mix on both - and although they don't advertise it, they're more than happy to give you a half and half if you want both. But their burritos are more than just that - they make their own guacamole and it's just brilliant, and something I don't normally praise at a Mexican place - the salad accompaniments are also really good. The cabbage slaw is a particular favourite and goes really well with the pork. Their hot sauces are also made in house and the chipotle one is just awesome. This area has an over abundance of Mexican burrito places now with three within a few minutes walk - but the fact that you will have to queue for at least five minutes to get served at Santana Grill is a testiment of the quality that they produce. If you're like me and don't want to try to eat a messy burrito at your desk then you can get it in a box too - and trust me, they don't skimp on the portions!! I've eaten at quite a few different Mexican places around London and I rate Santana Grill and Daddy Donkey as the two very best.

No reservation and they were completely booked but the host found the manager Renaldo who came over to me and explained they were booked but he would try and find me a table but it might take a while. Escorted me to the bar to wait, ordered a excellent Ancho Negroni using Mezcal and green Ancho Reyes served in a clay mug. Yum! Renaldo stopped by again said it would likely be :45m, and he ordered me the Guacamole on the house while I waited. Guac was mixed with fresh cheese (queso blanco?) and came with red and green sauces to modify the flavors, kind of like chutneys at an Indian restaurant. When a table was ready, Renaldo again stopped by to check on me and while the Carnitas I was looking forward to was already done for the night, the cactus salad and lamb chops were excellent as was the Mezcal served with spiced salt and oranges I'll be back to try the Carnitas! Thank you for the great hospitality Renaldo

Unfortunately, Mestizo charges per person and the minimum and maximum is two for this item So I couldn't order for one without paying forty dollars , and I'd be damned to pay that much. Having this rule is ridiculous. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant forcing you to order something that can easily be portioned to one. I ordered a marinated chicken with rice and beans. The beans were out of this world. Such a unique flavor I definitely was not accustomed to in the states. The rice was unfortunately bland. The chicken was marinated in this red sauce and was tasty for the most part. However , when I made my way to the center it became dry and had a weird taste. If you're gonna order this dish, proceed with caution. The dessert really outshined and redeemed my visit somewhat. I ordered the tres leches cake. This dessert is basically like a Mexican version of sticky toffee pudding. There are many overlapping factors. One key difference is tres leches uses a milk and cinnamon base , so it kind of tastes like a horchata cake.

I'm really pleased with the quality of the ingredients and the speed at lunch time. You can definitely do worse. They have some proper hot sauce behind the counter, in addition to the spicy salsa that you can see. If you're American or used to properly spicy Mexican food, ask for it.
