But i am sure that this was a truly beautiful facility! The brutalist mid-century architecture was stunning, and I found a few buildings with a similar style across the beautiful campus. Half of the rooms had lake views, and all rooms had views of the beautiful fall foliage. The Club was right on the path through campus and around the lake, which took about an hour to walk [briskly] around. The rooms themselves retained their original mid-century charm, including a brick interior wall, a built-in wood shelving/closet feature, period accurate furniture (I'm a bit of a mid century design snob), and some original 50s/60s style bathroom tile. The room had plenty of space and a comfortable king sized bed, although many of the people I was with mentioned having small, twin sized beds in their rooms. The meeting facilities were also beautiful, with incredible views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. There were multiple room options of varying sizes, in addition to numerous service packages, from beer/wine, to buffet, to snacks and drinks. We had several meals in the Club, all of which were excellent. The New England fare included clams, mussels, and clam chowder, which I particularly enjoyed. Even the lunch sandwich buffets were excellent. I found breakfast to be a bit lacking, but I'm not a big hot breakfast person anyways, so just a bagel was sufficient for me. Staff in the Club were beyond friendly and professional. I truly felt like I was staying in a 5* resort due to the staff's hospitality. I can't say anything about value for the cost because I'm not sure how much the space costs to rent or stay overnight, but rest assured you will get a beautiful space with top-notch service when using the facilities at this Club.

The owner (Kim) doesn't keep track of paperwork or your deposit so I suggest you do. It's the same crafts for the kids it's been for the 5 years we were seasonal. The electric is severely outdated and the WiFi isn't strong enough to actually use it. Dogs are allowed to bark nonstop and if you complain be ready to be told "that's what dogs do". The upgrades to the campground are nonexistent but the upgrades shes made to her house that's on the same property are definitely noticeable. Just know your money isn't going into the campground it's going to her house. Just go to George Washington. It's right down the road. It's quiet, peaceful and clean. The campground itself is secluded and quiet. There are spots for RV and tent camping. Bathrooms are extremely clean and well kept. The lady that runs it is super nice, but don't speed on her grounds or she will destroy you. The lake is home to all kinds of wildlife and teeming with fish. Whether you have a ski boat or a canoe it is accommodating! Overall a great place to get away and enjoy nature!! Just don't tell anyone I told you about the secret spot.

It's an escape from reality and you feel like at peace. If I could live here I would. Plus it's also really cheap. This place holds a very important place in my heart. They allow dogs and they have many trials. My family has been going here for over 60 years. I can't speak to the cabin experience, but the camp as a whole is easy to access yet also allows you to feel like you've escaped the city. The tent sites are clean, spacious and have a fire pit and a picnic table. The one we were at (and I think all of them...) have private lake access, meaning you can step out of your tent and walk straight into the water for a cool morning swim or even to fish (if you have a permit!). There is also a sanctioned swim area for children and families where there are safety ropes and water toys for everyone's use. The whole experience was restful and easy to execute. I had a reservation to stay at the Perthshire house 9/25-9/30/2026. On 9/24/26 a travel alert hit…read morethe NE coast, related to the untimely situation of a Nor'Easter that was heading in and wreaking havoc on the east coast. Gale winds and flooding were expected in Boston and had already hit much of the coast. The storm disrupted my plans to visit my son and his family in Boston. I had saved for this trip, and looked forward to the trip for a few months. Staying at a hostel was the only thing I could afford in Boston. Downtown motels and hotels were way out of my league financially. The charges for my stay at the Perthsshire house were $820, which were collected via VRBO. On 9/24/26 American Airlines sent me an e.mail advising me to consider changing my flight, which I did. I've never had an airline recommend this before. A pilot friend contacted me and told me directly that there was "no way he would choose to fly into that mess". American Airlines was accommodating and refunded part of my airfare. They made an exception on an economy flight. I worked with a sympathetic agent who helped me out in this extraordinary situation. I spoke with VRBO and requested either a full or partial credit, or a refund on my $820. I told them I would be happy to use the credit to book for the same property. They told me they would do "everything in their power to help me with this and that they would make it right" (scripted call center words) They punted the decision back to the property manager. I wrote to the property manager, and he punted it back to being up to VRBO. This lack of accountability went back and forth a few times. I was working with a VRBO supervisor all morning on 9/25/26. They did NOT make it right. Charles, the property manager, would not budge a penny in helping me out in any way.. I am an elder, visually challenged and traveling alone in order to see family in the only way I could manager considering my circumstances. There was no empathy or concern whatsoever about how this $800+ waste of my saved Social Security monies would affect me, nor any consideration of how they could make this less of a nightmare for me. NOTHING. Until that point communication with the property manager was prompt and personal. I have lost the opportunity to see my 17 month old granddaughter, and to have the trip I had been waiting months for. I cannot afford another reservation; my savings for this trip are gone form this FUBAR. The property pocketed my money and was left with the same roomon a canceled reservation that they will be able to rent to another customer. I was excited to find this hostel on VRBO because I can not afford other Boston motels or hotels , and staying with my family is not feasible. My son and his family are living in a 1BR high-rise near Mass General, where he is working. I will not be heading to Boston anytime soon and will certainly stay away from VRBO and the Perthshire house. This is a loss that will reverberate for a long time; both the sadness in not seeing my family; something I was excited and hesitantly prepared to do on my own, but also in the huge amount of money flushed down the toilet, and now, the reality that there is no way for me to make a visit happen because my savings for this trip are gone. I am absolutely devastated and disappointed in both VRBO, who did NOT make it "right" as they promised and, exceptionally upset about the lack of understanding by this property manager, and I am assuming the property owner also, in not making an exception during a travel alert and a severe and dangerous storm. It is shocking and something that will take a while to recover from, in numerous ways. I would recommend you stay away from this property, and if you do decide to stay there, consider travel insurance. I would have purchased travel insurance, but the cost was prohibitive for me. Devastating...all of it.

Once a month, usually the first Sunday, the guys here put together a great all-you-can-eat…read morebreakfast for the public. They certainly know how to cook. Standard breakfast fare of eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc but it is good. Much cheaper than other places. There's other events too such as the hoagie sale on Superbowl Sunday and barbecued chicken. Then there's all the charity they do and all that Masonic stuff. Combine that with bacon and eggs once a month and the men here are a true asset to the community.
