Best place and best price. The managers are the nicest people. We just happened upon this motel on our back from California.

Went across the street in the morning and powered up with a large Columbian coffee at the Pilot along with some mini-Cinnabons. Took a shower in the clean bathroom and then drove along the Columbia River to my destination in Dayton, Washington. A thank you to all the folks at Three Rivers Inn for making it happen! Oh btw, when you're in the parking lot, look up over the roof to see all of those boulders precariously hanging on the side of the mountain above the motel. Another thing to be thankful for as you safely drive away.

Despite the name, the rivers can't be seen from the Inn. But, they are close by…read more Even though I just checked in, the place is very well kept. Unless you are a prissy perfectionist, I think most people wouldn't have any issues in staying here for a few nights. The staff is courteous and helpful. My room and bathroom are very clean. If it weren't for the tanks outside, I'd a pretty nice view of the canyon walls that are around the area. The Wi-Fi is free, has good signal strength so far and is secured (woohoo). I'm not sure if this is in all rooms, but the writing table has no chair. And, the other chairs are too low to be used. Oh, well. I can live without it (even when provided, I seldom use it). A large display clock with 2 outlets. However, the light casts a glow bright enough that it may bother some people (just unplug it). I found the bed to be very comfortable. Despite being across the street from one truck stop, and several hundred feet from another, the place was pretty quiet for a Friday night. My only complaint is that they don't have guest laundry facilities. And, there doesn't appear to be any in the immediate area (not sure if the truck stop has it. But, even if they do, I wouldn't want to interfer with a trucker's schedule). Breakfast was a basic Continental type. Coffee, juice, cereal, fresh fruit, bagels and donuts, along with the accompaniments to go with whatever you had. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. And, another night or two wouldn't have been an issue.

The rapids, those crisp, roaring punctuation marks, start writing the kind of afternoon you'll replay in your head for years. Then Alex, our guide, takes the mic. With the charm of a seasoned showman and the precision of a scientist, he turned a whitewater rafting adventure into something unforgettable. His wit is sharper than a dry martini. His knowledge of the river and the volcanic bones beneath it is the kind of insight that makes you feel smarter just for listening. He doesn't just steer the raft. He steers you through time, weaving in the geologic history of the canyon walls while pointing out an osprey nest perched high above, hatchlings inside, chirping beneath the wind. You hear the rapids before you feel them. Then comes the dance. Navigating tight fits between boulders. Gliding effortlessly over shallow shelves. The raft lifts and drops like it's in on the secret. The kids laughed. The adults let go. And when the moment was right, we jumped in. Cold, clean, and utterly refreshing. A shock to the system in the best possible way. It's family friendly in the purest sense of the phrase. Thrilling, but never reckless. Informative, never dull. Wild, but still welcoming. The Imperial River Company doesn't just offer whitewater rafting. They offer escape. The kind where you stop checking your watch and start listening to the water, the birds, the laughter echoing off canyon walls. Book the trip. Ask for Alex. Let the Deschutes show you what summer is supposed to feel like.

The lodge sits on a 72 acre orchard, which also includes some farm lands that houses a couple of Alpaca and a bunch of sheep's. There were the three of us for 4th of July weekend and we booked the Mt. Hood room, and the River room. Both rooms are next to each other and had a patio with a picturesque view of Mount Hood. Both rooms had very comfortable beds, and all the amenities you need. Coffee, WiFi, towel, popcorn, glassware, shower amenities, and the best of all, heated floors in the bathrooms! Price per night rate comes with breakfast, and let me tell you! Breakfast was AMAZING! I actually was looking forward to breakfast every morning. It wasn't just the same skimpy toast, eggs and bacon kind of breakfast, but it was a nutritious and filling breakfast menu that changes every morning! It definitely filled me up until dinner time! Overall I recommend this place if you want a gorgeous, serene, and picturesque getaway! I felt at peace when I returned home. PS: Oscar the farm cat! Very friendly and will greet you every morning!

Sakura Ridge provided a very comfortable stay with everything that we needed to unplug and relax. There were many small details that we appreciated- a beautifully designed and very clean room, comfortable bed and sheets, heated floors, snacks and drinks in the common area (hot cocoa, tea, soda, popcorn), and guidebooks, cookbooks, and maps for guests. The breakfasts were delicious and carefully prepared by Deanna. We had fresh lamb sausage, cherry tomato and goat cheese tart, scrambled eggs with chives, and sorrel salad. The second day, we had a cream cheese omelette, ham wrapped asparagus, and fresh blueberry scone. Deanna also made a berry smoothie both mornings. John was very kind and taught my husband how to feed their lambs on the second morning. We met him at 8am and my husband got to feed 3 lambs at one time! I have to say, it was a unique and fun experience. We stayed in the Orchard Room, which was great. It was built as an addition in 2007, so it has a separate entrance and felt very private. The bathroom was well appointed with a marble walk-in shower and soaking tub. We had a private balcony overlooking the chickens and lambs on the farm, and it offered an AMAZING view of Mt. Hood. One of the best things about Sakura Ridge is that it's situated on a farm with animals (lambs and chickens) and fruits (pears, apples, peaches, plums, and berries) and vegetables. We highly recommend staying here and would love to return in the summer.
