He showed me the ice case where there was fresh fish on ice and a vat of clams happily chilling and blowing the occasional bubble. We started with a fresh plate of clams prepared with lemon, garlic and cilantro. It was consumed in seconds. Next we had a freshly filleted and grilled flounder prepared with sea salt and lemon served with grilled new potatoes, tomatoes, and green beans. We wanted to order grilled calamari but the waiter warned us that it might be too much food. Turns out he was right as the clams and flounder was more than enough. The staff was so polite and helpful and with out us asking, offered to take a photo for us if we wanted it (using our cell phones of course). The food was so fresh and flavorful with minimal seasoning, the staff was a pleasure, and best of all the price was very reasonable. If we had another free meal slot on our tour in Lisbon, we'd probably have opted to come back again for the grilled calamari. Check this place out for a delicious, home-style prepared food with a family friendly atmosphere... The free WiFi is a bonus too! :) Hole in the wall joints are often under rated and under appreciated. Don't expect frills, bells and whistles, just good food.

Also had an appetizer called tuna pate on toast. Everything including the service was wonderful. No glasses of wine, but you can get a .375L bottle. The had Super Bock beer on tap, tried that, it was light and very drinkable.

Bufalo Grill - You can't argue with a Brazilian rodizio and, here, this was just starting out with salads and cold cuts (business may be closed)

It wasn't. I found Bufalo Grill to be much better. Bufalo Grill is located in Parque das Nacoes, and within a short walk of the Tryp Oriente Hotel. With several restaurants in Parque das Nacoes, I stumbled into it and was able to tell that it featured buffet style dining. The location is very nice, being modern and with a high ceiling and floor to ceiling windows that look out on the Rio Tejo and some of the Expo 98 buildings. Virtually every item I sampled, including all of the meat and poultry, was good. There was no doubt about that. Even a dessert ordered at the end of the meal was very good. The pricing scheme seemed simple. While the service was slightly less friendly than at Chimarrao, everything else, particularly the setting, was better at Bufalo Grill. A meal here called for a snooze afterwards. It was convenient to be a short walking distance away from the Tryp Oriente Hotel ... and a comfortable bed. What they didn't offer was a wheelbarrow ride back to the hotel!

My waiter was nowhere to be found. It's possible that this experience would be very different with a different waiter. Some of the other food looks amazing and I see my neighbors waiters all the time. Very dissapointing.
