food quality: 5/5 service: 5/5 cleanliness: 5/5 value: 5/5 Don't skip on: Bifè de Portuguesa Tried out this restaurant on my first visit to Lisbon and the Time Out Market. It was unbelievably delicious! We got the Bifè de Portuguesa and a verde salad and it was so good. The steak was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. If you love Garlic, this is for you. Highly recommended!

This enchanting restaurant transports you back in time. The beautiful velvet accents and private small booths make this small restaurant very cozy. I ordered the steak with jamón and garlic and my husband has the house steak with the special sauce. They were equally delicious and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend!

Delicious fries that go well with the steak!

After traveling for nearly 24 hours, we were ready to settle down for our first meal in Lisbon. We rang the bell and were very fortunate to be invited in a bit past midnight. We came a long way to eat dinner here! The service and meal were all 5/5. We shared the food gras, the restaurant's speciality steak and the ratatouille. The steak went perfectly well with the fries served. We ate well and were too full for dessert, but it was the perfect first meal introduction to Portgual and Lisbon! Thank you so much for your service.

Very tasty filet mignon steak sandwiches. But very small for the price. The Portuguesa is basically just the filet with olive oil and garlic. The Surf & Turf is better, with added prawns and arugula. Pro tip: Google said it opens at 11:30am but it didn't open till noon.

this restaurant is definitely a must when in lisbon. you need to make a reservation in advance for sure. there is a doorbell you ring outside for them to let you in its very cute. the interior is cozy and romantic. the workers are all super friendly and speak multiple languages. we waited at the bar for a drink before our table was ready. we started with the garlic prawns which were our favorite item we tried they were amazing! the bread was also super good. my boyfriend got the sao bento steak and liked it. i got a grilled steak which had good flavor as well. the only thing that didnt impress us were the fries but no worries we were too full anyways.

Visited Cafe de Sao Bento located inside of Time Out Market in Lisbon/Lisboa. Dinned at the bar and enjoyed a very good filet prepared traditionally with bento sauce and a fried egg. Entree served with French fries, and finished with a vibrant, fresh, green salad. We highly recommend a visit, Cafe de Sao Bento will not disappoint.

Way overhyped. The filet mignon Portuguese style was way too undercooked for medium rare (it was basically raw in the middle). Green bean tempura was alright but too much batter. Fries with the steak were unsalted. The shrimp did not taste fresh and was too oily. Not sure what the hype is about this place (only stall in the Time Out Market to have a 5+ people line at all times). You can definitely get better steak elsewhere.

A friend took me here and said it was one of the best places to get steak in Lisbon. He was right!

Excellent steaks for what are (to a New Yorker) insanely low prices. We came here on our trip to Lisbon and got two steaks -- one Portuguesa style, and one Sao Bento style. Both were great, but we both preferred the Sao Bento steak, and my wife thought it was one of the best steaks she's ever had. I wasn't quite as crazy about it, but I still really enjoyed it. We also really liked the fries. If this isn't the best steakhouse in Lisbon, I would think it would have to be up there. It's old-looking inside (almost bizarrely so in a city that feels so trendy in so many ways), but the steaks are great, and the staff is extremely friendly.

You can make a reservation on their website linked here on Yelp. They speak English and the menu has English as well. They serve their food as a shareable for the whole table instead of one dish per person. So don't worry about having to order one dish per person! They will give you recommendations. For us 6 people, we ordered two steaks from the grill plus the Bife Olivier (OMG the Olivier sauce was the best! We dipped everything in it!). All the meat were cooked perfectly as we asked for and not salted. They come with salt and sauce on the side so if you have someone watching their salt intake, it will be perfect. The meat without any seasoning was still amazing! We did one appetizer which was the octopus. Seafood in Lisbon has been amazing and the octopus here too was very soft and well seasoned. Same with their side dishes. Two were enough for us. Love their truffle mashed potatoes. You'd love it if you like truffles. The flavor was so strong! You can ask for wine pairing as well. A great place to visit to celebrate an occasion, date night or just for some good quality steak.

Food quality was top notch. We got a shared plate of Mixed Grill and all the meat was fantastic. Ribs, lamb, prawns, steak were all incredibly juicy and flavorful. The broccoli puree was amazing! I think even those that don't like broccoli loved it. Salad was tasty and very green and fresh. Ambiance: Top notch. Very elegant, reminded me of a nice restaurant in Vegas with the large bar and dark, romantic decor. The chairs were also lush and comfortable. Staff: Very accommodating to American's and very friendly. He made wine recommendations that didn't break the bank, which I appreciated. While the price seems high for individual dishes, we found the shared plate to be incredibly affordable and perhaps the reason for so many groups. Location is also nice, I was really happy with our choice to come here.

My friend and I shared steak platter with beans and salad. The food was amazing and fresh. I usually don't eat red meat, but we both were super hungry and decided to share the platter with beer and more beer!!! I looked around the room and their pizzas also looked amazing. You can tell by that fresh pizza with bobbly cheese and meat that it will be a religious experience eating it. Most def coming back once I visit Lisbon again soon and try other delicious things on the manu.
