My son and his fiance needed an affordable wedding venue in October 2023 and found The Park Home Ranch available. Sadly, he was not able to afford the extra services that were up-sold , so he and his new wife only rented the barn. Extra things like servers, bartender, etc. were out of their price range, so they had friends/family assist which worked out fine. There was only one Park Home Ranch staff person that was available to direct. At first she was helpful and friendly, but that didn't last. Not sure when she left, but she returned at the end. The rental was until 11 pm. Wedding went on as planned with a few normal hiccups, but it was the end that I was horrible. They were starting to wrap up the celebration, as we all knew we had to be completely out by 11 pm. At 10 pm, the Park Home Ranch staff person came in hot and told them "you have to leave now and take your trash with you!!! (I emphasize the explanations). When my son explained to her that we would be out by 11 pm as contracted, this woman literally continued yelling at him, in front of the guests, "that this was the worst party she's ever done, that everyone was horrible and that everyone had to get out". Again, appalled that my husband and I and most of the guests overheard this. The DJ was stopped and pretty much everyone that was still there started grabbing stuff and throwing it in whomever's car/truck they could find to be re sorted and distributed back to the bride and groom later. We were out earlier than 11 pm, and took "all our trash with us." What an absolute nightmare to have whomever this staff woman was completely ruin the last hour of a wedding celebration. When speaking to my son and his wife about this, they said when they talked with Elizabeth the owner, her response was "maybe she was having a bad day" and that she said that we were the ones causing trouble. Seriously??? No apology or offer to refund even a little bit, or reprimand this employee? The bride's mother also called to complain. It was very business unprofessional. Most in attendance were professional adults. No one "trashed the place", everything was left as it was found, but the impression was made. Final thought, make sure you get what you contract for. The niceties are great in the beginning, but a wolf in sheep's clothing...... Make sure you understand everything before signing. And don't let a disgruntled person ruin your wedding. Find somewhere else.

Hair dryer kept shorting out, went to call front desk but phone did not work. Went downstairs but no one to be found at desk. Finally found a maintenance guy in hall who thought he fixed dryer, but didn't. Said phones haven't worked in a while. Talked to owner Andy later that day and after listening he opened the suite next door connected to our room. Not much different but it did have a refrigerator. While he and staff were nice enough, if you're looking for a bright and shiny hotel you won't find it here.

Having reviewed the layout prior to showing up I was very excited to play. Unfortunately when I got there, the disappointment set in. The fairways look like a three year old is the greenskeeper. Full of weeds, bare spots, dandelions...they are a mess. There are huge portions of fairway and rough around the cart paths that are destroyed. The place looks like its a dump and going downhill fast. There's construction work on one hole that I am told has been going on for 3 years. The carts are junk. This place could be THE BOMB! But, instead IT BOMBED? I'm in no hurry to go back to this place and if I had to pay to play at this place. I would have been livid. HUGE disappointment.

Not a single employee to be seen. Finally flagged someone down who asked where my key was. What key? Apparently after paying the prop was supposed to give me a key and I was supposed to just go pick out a cart. -No starter, so I just rolled up to the first hole and teed off at my tee time. -SLOOOOOOOOW pace. It took me over 5.5 hours to play 14 holes. At hole 12, I got tired of being stuck behind stacks of 3 and 4 somes and skipped past them until hole 15 and was still stuck behind a foursome, but at least they played quickly. The course was in great shape with great mix of forgiving and challenging holes. Seemed like there were a lot of par 3s though and one hole was under repair (10? 11?) so they turned it into kind of a janky par 3. Was just in town for a visit, but think i'll explore other courses instead next time I'm back.

There's a full bar available too, so if you want a scotch on the rocks or a Cosmo while you play, there you go. It's good there's no smoking in here too. It's kinda loud in here when there's a lot of people bowling. Lots of good seating with good swivily chairs. I'll review the snack bar separate as it food and not bowling. We all had a good time and my guys and one other girl were happy, so I'm happy.

I love this little free rink! I've been coming here for several years now and enjoy the outdoor…read moreskating in the heart of the Northstar village. There are, however, a few downsides: - Parking can be crazy and $$ if it's high ski season (though today I got very lucky and snagged a free spot up close since there's very little snow on the mountains) - The rink is not well maintained. The Zamboni comes out so rarely that in all of my years visiting, I've only seen it ONCE. That makes for a choppy, slushy mess of a rink and explains why this place clears out pretty quickly sometimes. Not fun. - There are a LOT of first-time skaters here from tots to adults. (The bigger they are, the harder they fall!) This is not your typical New England hockey rink or even your Midwest mall rink. No amenities exist like the assisted skate thing that kids hold onto while they learn to skate (there would be no room for that anyhow; see next bullet). Expect to get plowed into once or twice. - The rink is REALLY small. Your feet will hurt from making tight turns and avoiding flying ninja turtles (see previous bullet). They don't prescribe a direction to skate, but everyone generally skates counter-clockwise. - There's rarely, if ever, anyone official on the ice. Don't expect to have anyone monitoring skaters or providing first-aid assistance. Welcome to the wild west! The best part is that it's free to skate (skate rentals are extra) and the surrounding area is full of comfy seats near fire pits and overhead heaters. Sometimes there's a live band, which makes for an even better skating experience (otherwise there's not really any music, so I'd advise packing your iPod). You can also enjoy the smells of the surrounding restaurants, coffee shops, and bakeries as you weave around scared adults or conga-line dancing teens. And once you've had your fill of dodging bad skaters all afternoon, just mosey on up to one of the many bars in the village and relax with a beer!
