i chose to donate recently as I work in biologic medications (McKesson) and know firsthand the importance of plasma donations. I chose this location as it was the closest to my home. I've not heard great things from my colleagues about Grifols and they insisted I should go to Octa on Capital. I thought they were just being dramatic. The first time I went with my partner to ease my mind (and he decided to donate with me!). Teagan and the other ladies I dealt with were genuinely amazing people and went out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable. They walked us through each step, and it was just overall a wonderful experience. "Ha, I knew they were just being dramatic" I thought to myself as we left the facility, feeling a sense of pride for having done a small part to impact someone's life in a positive way. Well, that all changed when we went back to do our second donation. We decided to go on Saturday, and boy, was that a mistake. The male nurse on staff that day (1/17/26) insisted my partner and I were just too bruised to donate (I've attached a picture), and we were deferred. I began to think perhaps my coworkers had been right about this place. Nah, it was just a fluke and this person was probably just erring on the side of caution. All that went out the window today (1/23/26). My partner decided to attempt to donate before the ice storm, since we wouldn't be able to on the weekend for obvious reasons. I was working, so wasn't able to go with him this time. Well, he arrives and talks to a lady at the counter, explaining what happened last weekend. He was refused AGAIN because the doctor needed to review the note left. It's been a week, how has the doctor not taken a look at it at this point? All in all, my coworkers at McKesson were correct about Grifols. I will be making at least one more donation just to make sure my first one doesn't go to waste, but after that, I will not be setting foot in this locale again. I'll be taking my co-worker's recommendation and going elsewhere to help save lives. read more

Don't waste your time or gas coming here. I wish I didn't. The employees at the front desk are condescending and will decide that they just aren't going to help you and that you can't donate. It doesn't matter what you tell them or how you answer their questions. Must be their way of guaranteeing an easier day, either that or some form of discrimination. They also did not respect client privacy in a medical setting. I saw another client's social security card because the dumb blond at reception doesn't understand anything or have any awareness of her actions or surroundings. read more

I can not say how nice and respect the employees are!! Not to mention how hilarious they can be talking to each other (Y'all know who y'all are and I salute y'all!). Never felt uncomfortable or unwelcome! Place is always clean and sanitary. When I go it's mostly a nice short wait time (unless the computers go haywire or something unexpected happens, it's not their fault). I have Trypanophobia (fear of needles) but I need the cash... And their is only a few times where when they stuck me it hurt or I felt I'll (mostly new employees) but for the most part I don't even feel it. Oh not to mention I also have Hemophobia (fear of seeing blood) yeah lucky me huh! But they make it as smooth and comfortable as possible for me and I really appreciate it! I just want to say thank you to all the employees there and that I appreciate their politeness! Just wanted to point this out... Saw a review from a year ago that said do not go there, that the employees are racist against African Americans and that medical PREJUDICE is real... just wanted to point out I've been going here for over a year now and that that's a total lie! Lol idk how that's true knowing 3/4 of its employees aren't White!! And I've never ever seen nothing like that here or heard bout it. Now I think the reason they put that review up is because they rejected them and they got mad or they acted crazy and got kicked out. So don't listen to that one. Inconsiderate, unprofessional, raunchy, and careless. It is completely uncomfortable and out of place. countless times I've witnessed the white ladies working flirting with other women's spouses. Inconsistent pay, HIPAA violations, Private information constantly audible to anybody in the lobby straight from the white girls big mouth. After injection, careless. Assumed that they are uneducated in wound care as I see people walking out with heavy blood still dripping out of their arm. If $50-$150 seems worth it for a couple hours to you, then this is your spot! But you can miss me with ALL that. read more

I have been coming to Grifols to donate for about a year. Usually I don't have any issues. The staff is great, but they are greatly understaff. They make you make an appointment between every quarter hour i.e. 11:00-11:15, however if you are not here at 11, you are considered late and possibly have to make another appointment. To me, if the appointment time is 11-11:15, then why do one have to be present at 11? One has another 15 minutes before being considered late. Maybe its me. Many times you will see staff standing around doing absolutely nothing while there are plenty of things that can be done. And I'm not an employee and I can see there are things that can be done to make things more productive and help things move along. Other than that, this is a great place to get some extra money while helping those that need help. read more

My friend Rayfield comes here once a week to grab some quick cash for just sitting around. I have a long history of trying to be a do-gooder in terms of community service, volunteerism and donations. When I found out that I could actually get paid for it for once, I figured I'd run on down there and give it a shot. Nope! Walking in the door, I didn't get any of the negative vibes some other reviewers experienced. No junkies or otherwise shady-looking individuals hanging around. It was mostly empty at 10am on a Saturday - about 11 people, including couples, of varied ages and backgrounds. It truly could've been a waiting room for just about any service. What sucked was the intake process for 1st time donors. I had my SS card and driver's license, but they wouldn't take me in because one of them reads Spri Jr. while the other one says Spri II (as in, the second). As far as I'm concerned, they're the same people, but NOOooooOOOo, not for Talecris. They told me that the names have to be completely exact and sent me packing. Went home and rifled through my other very official government ID's. NONE OF THEM ARE EXACTLY ALIKE. My birth certificate has my full middle name whilst my passport just abbreviates it with the letter "J." I called Dusty at the facility to ask him if any of them would do and he told me no. To his credit, he said that he thinks it's dumb too but has a job to do and I respect that. Pretty mind-blowing that I can't donate plasma because of this silly rule, but hey...more for me. This is getting out of hand. Do you people not care about people's time? The appointment setup is a nightmare and then your clueless staff can't even make appointment correctly or inform people about any requirements or if certain appointments don't work. I've gone multiple times to waste my time. I've taken off work but again you people don't seem to care. Also this place is extremely unsafe and I'm surprised this facility hasn't been inspected. I suggest y'all avoid this place and take pictures or record any interactions with them for proof. Then report them to federal departments. I hope this place gets a random visit soon. Overall a great experience. very clean facility and friendly staff. I do feel like they could have shaved an hour off the 3 hour appointment if they would have moved a little quicker but the intake staff is moving in slo-mo. read more

Great place, friendly staff, and comparatively fast service. New patient intake does take several hours, however personal experience has shown that is standard for all plasma centers. If you are in a rush plasma donation probably isn't for you. The extraction process takes at least 40 minutes. read more

don't go to the lame garner location of talecris. they ignore donors who are a no flow with the machines showing red lights and beeping like crazy. they also left air in the line then started up a blood return and that's very dangerous for a donor. i'm not trained and know air being put into the veins is harmful. read more

I was very disappointed when I came here on October 23, 2019. I came between 6:30PM and 7:00PM. After being processed I was allowed to go to the back. As soon as I opened the door I heard music blasting. This caught me off guard considering that donors are required to use headphones. I asked the lady behind the desk if a radio was playing and she said yes. I guess since head management works during the day, night staff feels that they can have a free for all. When I got on the donation chair, I asked if they could turn down the music. As I made this request another donor remarked, "Yes, I agree." I could tell that a few staff members became irritated and annoyed with my request. The music was turned down a little, but it was later turned back up to full blast. I usually visit during morning and afternoon hours and this has never been an issue. Morning and afternoon staff members have always been professional and courteous. Management needs to be more watchful of the late night work crew because the facility turns into a ghetto juke joint. read more

Nice facility, and great experience! Be warned that your first time will take a while, but that's because there's a lot of information to go over, and the nurse has to do a physical. My second time went faster, I was in and out in about an hour and a half. Make sure you bring your license and social security card to get processed. I've donated plasma for years, and this place was a refreshing change. The facility is bright and clean, there was a worker dusting and changing trash and cleaning bathrooms when I went in the first time. In the centers I've been to before there was always a lot of noise, people wandering around, smoking outside, playing music, etc--not here. There were about 30 people in the lobby when I went in, and everyone was quietly sitting down watching a movie. The staff was very friendly and personable, and seemed to know everyone's name. I've been to places where the process is faster, but nowhere near as pleasant. The nurse made sure I knew how to use the payment card and when I needed to come back for my next donation. One of the managers stopped by to check on the staff and donors while I was donating. It's not perfect, but I bet those that gave bad ratings either had unrealistic expectations regarding donation or have trouble following the rules. It requires some initial time investment, but if you want to do some good and make a little spare cash, and you meet the physical requirements, you're not going to do any better when it comes to donating plasma. read more

Avoid this place unless you have absurd amounts of time to commit to the process. I've donated other places and this facility is by far the most inefficient and slow. Despite never arriving with any kind of major crowd in the lobby, it always takes at least 40 minutes to be processed. This is the norm, despite being fully staffed. You then are led to the donation floor, to see an almost 1/1 phlebotomist to patient ratio, despite the lack of patients in the building. There is simply no excuse for how slow and apathetic the staff is given how few clients they are dealing with. Also, men are not given saline but instead forced to chug a Powerade post-donation to replace lost fluids. If that doesn't tell you how cheap this place is, I don't know what to tell you. read more

The compensation is decent, the long wait time, the attitude of some of the employees, and the sanitation is horrible. I wouldn't recommend this donation site to anyone until they have properly passed a sanitation inspection. read more

The staff is nice but will not relay messages to donors hiding behind the patient privacy act when all I asked them to do was let a donor know I was there. I did not ask if the donor was there because I had dropped them at the door and knew they were inside .They then wonder why donors do not return maybe it is because they can not get a ride. read more

Great place!!! Yes, it takes a bit of time on the first visit (over 3 hours), but the people are nice and friendly! If you' re and pisser and moaner, you might want to do something else...donation is not right for you, even if you are paid for it! read more
