Amy has cut my hair every two weeks for the past two years. My business man hairdo is easy for Amy but I've had the opportunity to see so many of her customers come through the salon. She is a true artist! She blends color so beautifully and so naturally that I can always tell which woman was her client. The bottom line is Amy makes her clients hotter than they were before they sat in her chair. Cheryl at the front desk also makes the whole experience fun. This place does not disappoint. read more

This is an awful place. I was 10 mins late because maps had me take a wrong turn. This stylist called Michael acted like he the only hair stylist in this whole wide world very rudely refusing to take me even after me explaining it was a simple trim that I needed. He offered to do "consultation" instead. This is a damn haircut not a medical procedure that it needs to be complicated like this. Totally customer unfriendly. Never going back read more

I was referred to Michael a few years ago. Michael is a professional to the highest degree. During his consultation, he provides different options to treat/color/cut the hair. My hair looks natural and beautiful every time I visit and it lasts! Michael adjusts his approach based on the season, my preferences, and other factors. Michael attends professional fairs and performs a thorough research on products he uses. I had to cancel a hair cut portion of my appointment because of unexpected call at work a few minutes prior to my appointment and Michael refused to charge me for it despite my offer. I've been going to Talc for a while now, the entire staff is great but Chelsy is amazing! I had horrible highlights from "Markirk" in Whitehouse Station, my hair was an awful combination of orange and yellow. Chelsy corrected it in one session (the stylist at Markirk said it would take several sessions). I drank a couple glasses of wine and cut my own hair; Chelsy corrected it. She is friendly, professional, edgy and very talented. I will no longer let anyone else cut or dye my hair, and it's never looked better! She even went out of her way to teach me how to do beach waves with a curling iron and a flat iron! She is passionate and that reflects in her work. I highly recommend her services! read more

Talc is a really professional, great salon where you are always treated well and made comfortable by all of the staff. Sheri is an amazing colorist who I have followed wherever she goes for the past 20 years, and total strangers have stopped me to tell me how great my color is all the time (red/auburn). I will not go to anyone else, and she gives a great cut also. They are going above and beyond with safety and precaution during this time of CoVid-19 so everyone feels safe and comfortable going there. I highly recommend the salon to anyone, female and male. I absolutely love my stylist Michelle! I have incredibly fine, curly/frizzy hair and had been unable to find a stylist that could give me a good flattering cut. Michelle is awesome, she worked with me and actually figured out how to make my hair look amazing and fit my face. She's always up to date on the latest styles and is a complete professional. Been here once and never again. Receptionist continued to talk to staff not even acknowledging I was standing there. Stylist was horrible no personality and only knew how to do a basic cut which was not great and was considered to be an experience stylist.. NOT and charged a $100.00. So NOT Worth it. read more

I went for my first visit today after seeing all the reviews on Yelp. I had the fortune of seeing Denise who gave me some fabulous tips on how to manage my wavy/curly hair. Lo and behold, my hair looks like it did when I was 16! I started going here about 4 years ago, I have used Amy, Tina and Chelsea for cut, color, keratin and blow outs. They are all amazing. I have since moved and now I drive the 40 minutes to go there, even though there are a ton of 5 star salons near my new home. It's a clean friendly salon with wonderful stylists and they used the top of the line products which makes a huge difference in styling. read more

Since my last review I've been at TALC at least four times. I only wanted a color each time, and did not have time to blow dry since I was on my lunch hour. In spite of the fact that I stressed I was on my lunch hour, I still ended up waiting for my stylist. She wanted to chat and catch up, and again I stressed I was on my lunch hour. She would even stop working to make a point! Every single time this happened, and to add insult to injury, the person who rinsed me left color along my hairline! Even though I made it a point to mention it every time when I checked out, it happened THREE times. Finally I just gave up. Too bad, I was hoping that I had come across a hidden gem. For $70 I could get a cut, color and blow dry done properly at a place where they listen rather than letting me walk out with a wet head and color staining my hairline. Nice ambiance. Friendly staff. And Micheal Paccuci has to be God's gift to hair. I don't want to say how phenomenal he is because I don't want to ever have to wait to see him, but he truly is the most incredible hairdresser known to the world of hair. I had a hair cut last month May 2013, with a hairstylist that I would not like to bring up her name. I'm not trying to hurt her reputation however I'm not pleased with the customer service. I called back a few weeks later and I said I was not happy with the hair cut. I have a long hair asked for layers and I didn't get what I wanted and it took the hairstylist 3 hrs 30 min and by the time she finished the cut, my hair was dry and tangled and made the blow dry so painful. I wanted to go in for correction but they told me we have to charge you for another haircut which is $85. I said but I paid that last month and I never had a haircut 2 months in a row. I was told if I'm not happy with the haircut I should go to another hair salon. Is this a good customer service? read more

Just had my hair cut and colored by Connie at TALC salon in Far Hills, NJ and I was thoroughly impressed! For the first time in a long time I love my hair style and color too! The salon is spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable and tastefully appointed. Cheryl at the front desk was super friendly and accommodating. I've been going to TALC salon since it opened. It's clean and always kept neat. The assistants are great, they are constantly working on keeping the workstations clean and "hair free". Tina is my stylist and she's amazing. She is as professional as they come! Her skills are amazing. She's always on time. she never makes you wait and you are her focus the entire time. Even when she has other clients in between you, she's on top of every minute of your process. She does a cut and color for me each visit and I've never had anything but fabulous reviews afterwards. I have thick dry hair and I am allergic to many things. Anna took the time to talk to me about my allergy and convinced me to try a different process that she was guessing would have a much less chance at bothering me. Much to my surprise it is beautiful and both her and Lucy made sure I was taken care of beautifully. Chelsea also came and asked if I needed water or a book during process. How wonderful! I also got to watch Anna counseling another lady on her color that was very blotchy (done at a different salon). Instead of doing only what she wanted (fix but more highlights) Anna explained how it could burn her hair and stress it if they put a process on top of her incorrect one. Anna worked also with her to calm the effect and worked out a plan for her to have healthy beautiful hair on a timeline and really did a great job fixing it to start. I suggest Anna the best color specialist I have ever seen. - so very very Happy! read more
