I had a gift certificate for a 60 minute massage with tip included and the woman (who was sleeping on the couch when I walked in) initially seemed like she was turning me away. She didn't speak English (which is fine) and used a translator app at first to ask me if I had a gift certificate (which I had in my hand and which very clearly had the logo of the spa and all the necessary information on it). When that didn't work she had to FaceTime another woman and I'm assuming everything got squared away in this conversation because she then got off the phone and led me to a room. She started what I can't even call a massage - the woman clearly had no idea what she was doing. She didn't wash her hands, she ran out after she had started to dim the lights, she didn't use any lotion, she was doing everything over my clothes...I mean, really really bad. For instance, instead of massaging the palms of my hands (like you'd have done in even your typical nail salon) she was actually trying to massage the backs of my hands. I got up from the table after less than 20 minutes and I would have gotten up sooner but I'm a mom of two young kids and I have a physical job so the act of just laying doesn't ever happen for me. I figured maybe it would get better and I'd be able to relax more but it was when she started to essentially bang my shins with her fists that I couldn't do it anymore. I pointed to my watch and said thank you. Unfortunately I noticed as I left the room that instead of removing the paper that I had been laying on, she simply straightened it out. I also used the bathroom before I left (since she had not washed her hands before touching me) and there must have been a huge leak or something because the bathroom mat was soaking wet and I slipped and almost fell on my way into it. There was not one positive aspect to this entire experience and, while I didn't pay for it myself, I do feel badly that someone else spent the money to do something kind for me and it was an absolute waste. Customer service, cleanliness, hygiene, safety, service value...all horrible.
