Once the popular Friendly House, this spot has transformed into a new doner shop in town. I dropped by on a lazy Friday for an early lunch and felt like I found a gem that balances price, quality, and service perfectly. I'm not expecting Michelin-level experiences at teenager-friendly prices, but this place exceeds expectations with quality that keeps the wallet happy. I tried the Mixed Doner and Chicken Doner Wrap with sweet chilly sauce, which, though unconventional, was an amazing combo. The meats were a bit salty, probably because we were the first customers of the day, thus the outer part of the doner were sliced. However, given the careful spicing and marination throughout the foods, I can easily imagine how fantastic it would be on a typical day. The juicy meats and aromatic spices were a delight. Generous portion of the fresh greens and great pickles complemented the doners well. The potatoes were beyond standard, cooked just right and seasoned perfectly. The rice was served with perfect texture with lightly aromatic, yet big enough to sense the flavors. I'd prefer couscous over regular rice for the flavor variety it brings, dancing around my mouth along with the wholesome doners. Only minor drawback was the bread, which could have been softer and chewier. But hey, nobody's perfect. It still did the job and was of good quality, especially considering the price range. The effort put into the marination and spice blends, often overlooked in favor of the main ingredients like meat, really stood out. Food prep accounts for 70% of the workload in most of restaurants and requires real dedication and patience, which this place clearly has. The staff were helpful and genuine, adding to the positive experience. This is definitely a place I'd frequent, sensing their commitment to improving and engaging with customers in a friendly way. They have the potential to become even better, and I'm excited to see where they go from here! read more
