Melita with chipotle Sriracha sauce on the side
    Eva L.

First time trying this food truck. Also first time trying the Melita which is braised beef with cheese stuffed between 2 toasty crispy tortillas. It's like gourmet quesadilla. Really good seasoning on the braised beef. It had the flavor of roasted chilis and maybe cumin. The beef looked fibrous but so soft and not dry at all. The tortilla's crispiness was the perfect compliment to the saucy beef. The tortillas had some charred spots which added another layer of flavor with slight bitterness and grilled smokiness. Lots of cheese which helped balance the savory taste of the meat. A very slight spicy kick from the meat. If you prefer it more spicy, you can drizzle the chipotle Sriracha sauce that it came with. Price was $8, so reasonably priced. It was filling and make the taste buds happy and satisfied. Didn't wait long for the food. The staff who took the order was nice. Will definitely try the other items on the menu next time.

Love the birria tacos! There was A TON of meat in them, and definitely filling for my husband and me. Comes with limes and radishes plus lots of cilantro and two salsas. We liked the creamier of the two. The tacos are red corn and pleasantly crunchy...check out Strike Brewing's food truck lineup to plan your visit around this place :)

Yummy yummy Birria tacos. Order of 3 for 11$. Plenty of meat, slightly crunchy tortillas, onions and cilantro. Comes with 2 different sauces/salsa. Flavors were on point and I just wanted to keep eating them. They also have a Keto option made of cheese which I didn't get to try - but I will next time. My coworker said they were so good she devoured them. You definitely want to try these tacos.

    Birria Ramen! so bomb!

Pros: - Food is amazing! The Ramen, the tacos, and the fries... so amazing! The tacos was the highlight for me with the amount of meet and the hard shell. So good! - Price is very fair and not outrageous like most food trucks - Friendly service - They give you 4 different salsas and generous amounts of food that comes out quick. Cons: - Got the food at Clandestine! So it was great to be near a brewery to drink and eat their food. However, could be hard to find if you don't catch them at the right place - Mainly have Beef- Would be great if they can expand to chicken or pork (carnitas or al pastor would be awesome!) Overall - Place is awesome and would definitely order from them given the opportunity!

Wow their fries and tacos were really good. Fries were $10 and 3 tacos for $10. The fries had a spicy kick which I loved. Great customer service and staff were really nice.

I came here with friends on a Saturday Night, we got 2 burritos and fries. The birria burrito was delicious although it was a bit too oily and the fries were good. Everything was reasonably priced and I can definitely see myself going again!

Had a free Saturday and saw that they are where strike brewing is at and figured it would be a great day for birria and beer. I got tacos, a burrito, the fries, and birria ramen. Fries I dropped off to a friend but she said they were bomb! The Birria ramen and a few tacos was for my roommate who never had birria before and he loved it as well. The burrito was huge! And I have to say one of the best things about this place is their salsas! Just got their pizzadilla today and it was delicious. I think their price range for their food is really good.

These days birria tacos are all the hype and with many places selling them it can be a little overwhelming. To make it easy for you, the birria tacos from Takoz Mod Mex are where you should get your birria from. The tortillas were crispy, the meat was tender, and the consomme was sooo flavorful. I didn't try the quesabirria because I wanted something a little bit lighter but I still felt like I wasnt missing out. These were delicious.

Yummmm!!! I visited TaKoz food truck during Facebook's Summer Jam party. There were a row of food trucks, and TaKoz was at the very end, not much of a line. I was a bit skeptical to get it, but when Allen saw the menu, he knew he wanted the knockout burrito. +100 SERVICE was great! Owner talked to us, and told us what sauces to use. I was craving some fries, but was too afraid to get a whole order, so the owner was really nice and got me a small tray of it to try. No salt, and super delicious! +100 PRICING/MENU. Yay! Super affordable, and HUGE portions! Everything on the menu looked amazing. We ordered: 1) Knockout Burrito // HALLELUJAH. AMAZING. 3 types of meat, fries, an egg...YUM. Reminds me of good ol' Vallarta (in SD). I wish it had guac, but WHATEVS. It's so good! Would totally get this again. Unfortunately they don't have a brick and mortar, but seems like they are working on it! For now, they just go around south bay. Go give them a try!

My first time trying a birria taco. I did not get the consomé but the taco was piled with a lot of meat and really greasy. Definitely one of the greasier tacos I have had but it was flavorful and delicious. I want to come back and try their birria ramen.

    Naked burrito bowl

Not so vegan friendly. Service was super nice and friendly. They made fun of me for not being able to handle their mildest sauce without sweating profusely in January winter air. Naked burrito bowl without cream cheese, sour cream, or creamy chipotle sriracha sauce, and rice - They made a really nice healthy salad out of the remaining ingredients. Tomatoes and vegetables were fresh and juicy. There were heavy, thick layer of black beans underneath that I wanted to be saltier. Next time order - Veggie tacos.

If you're looking for a catering food truck for a small lunch window that delivers high quality and very quick service, I HIGHLY recommend Fire and Rice. Their Hawaiian Asian fusion menu is unique and stands out compared to other Asian or poke trucks I've tried. The garlic shoyu chicken and tuna poke were my personal favorites. I tried some of my coworkers garlic shrimp & Miso tofu too...surprisingly pretty GOOD! With inflation being what it is, their food is absolutely worth the price, and they were also flexible and willing to work within our reasonable budget. I can't recommend them enough. For catering inquiries, It was a little difficult getting them on the phone so we played phone tag a lot. I suggest texting or emailing Micah or Jessica for the quickest response, as they're often busy on the truck or during service.

I stumbled upon this place one day while doing my random walk, so you KNOW I had to give this place a try. I had went in upon opening time, so my wait was a little bit, but I was not complaining because you know what they say: "Greatness comes when you build them up one by one." I got their hamburger with the extra cheese, and curly fries. The patty was extra juicy, and the brioche buns were toasted really well. I especially like how they added on the cheese after the patty was marinated on the grill for quite a while, but not too long to the point all of the juice was sucked up. The only down side to the food: the prices. Be prepared to spend quite a bit on lunch if you decide to go to this place, because they do end up charging quite a bit more than what the regular places around Downtown would. But the IPA beers make up for it, so it's also worth a bang for your buck. Hospitality was pretty top-notch -- my order was taken in an orderly fashion, and they even apologized for the wait as well. I hope Scratch Cookery stays around for a long while so that people can try out such majestic wonders this establishment has to offer! Ambiance was great, and I'd definitely be back again!

I kept hearing about their hot chicken sandwiches for years, and we finally made the trek to check them out. The Good: * Friendly service * Prices aren't too bad considering the portion size and flavor. * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Craft brews in cans * Seven levels of heat for everyone from the spice-averse to the hardcore fire lover. * Chicken sandwiches are massive and delicious. And despite it being a breast, they kept it very juicy. * Really loved their fries; I'm not sure if they make them in-house or if they're frozen, but regardless, they're fantastic. The Meh: * Not much in the way of drinks except for the aforementioned beers and cans of soda. The Ugly: * It's located in DTSJ, so you'll most likely have to pay for parking. If you don't mind walking a few blocks, the 4th St Garage is free for the first 90 min. Conclusion: Great spot to get your spice on.

Thankfully this turned out to be a solid choice for pizza and they do the concept justice. It's not as saucy of a pizza, but they do well with a crispy crust and the flavorful toppings. Their signs hadn't been updated for pricing, but it was 8" for $13 and 12" for $19. Our number got called up pretty quick so we didn't have to wait very long for the pizza to be done (5 minutes tops). Some pepper/cheese packets available for additional toppings. The whole thing was given to us in a pizza box which made for pretty easy transport at the market. It's actually nice they they're not as sauce heavy as other pizza spots (I can't actually partake in tomato anymore, so the fact they had options for me was neat too). We settled on the Chorizo for a more cheese-heavy and tomato free experience. Toppings were very fresh and the bottom/crust had a nice airy crispiness that made it worth eating to the last bite. Had a medium amount of heat to it with the jalapenos, but not too much without them. Remarkably flavorful and really well done (the little chorizo bites were quite popping, but so were the cheese bits). Definitely grab something from them if you're on the hunt for good pizza on the go.
