I used takeoutguys for the first time recently. According to TOG, Portsmouth Flatbread offers Riverside Farms Donuts (note the plural) for $5.75. Unfortunately, this is not an item on Flatbread's menu (dated 6/7/2021). They do however offer a Riverside Farm Cider Donut Sundae for $7.75. Instead of some donuts I recieved a donut sundae without ice cream and maple infused whipped cream. That's right, I got a single donut in a pint sized container. With tax and tip, I paid over $7 for a donut that was just ok. I emailed Elizabeth at TOG the next day. Mistakes happen. I get that. So I asked her to make it right. She never responded (I waited one week before posting this. ). There are some other issues too. When I placed the order the confirmation indicated that it would be delivered in between 1 hour 20 to 1 hour 50. That's crazy for a Tuesday night this sounded crazy so I called Flatbread to cancel and order a take out but I was too late. It was delivered in roughly 1 hour 15. That's ok for a Saturday night but a bit surprising mid-week. In addition, they require a minimum tip of 20%. It is automatically added to the check. I have no problem tipping and I tip well. But I resent being told that it is mandatory and automatic. That's not a tip, it's a fee. Finally, their website says that the prices are set by the restaurants. False. They sometimes add a buck to an item. Go check it out yourself. I won't be using TOG again. There is simply no need. Uber, Doordash, Toast, and GrubHub go to most of the same places, and dozens more. We've haven't had a problem yet and I've never felt as though I got conned out of a few bucks. read more

Worst service ever. Never using them again they blame everything on the restaurant when it's clearly their fault. I ordered food from lexie's at 11:12 AM. The earliest delivery was 12:30. It is now 1:40 and I still haven't received my food. I don't know how they are in business still. read more

It's SO overpriced. Mandatory 20% tip for the driver PLUS $5.99 delivery fee on top of that. I don't mind tipping the driver but they really should consider waiving the delivery fees to help support the local community during this pandemic. I'd like to support local restaurants but paying $29 for three milk teas (original cost $16) is way too much. read more

Cut me off in a parking lot after running a stop sign, and driving recklessly, and apparently it's ok to park in a no parking zone if your hazards are on. Just a rude, and disrespectful driver. read more

Never picked up order, never delivered order.. got a call an hour and a half later and dispatcher was rude when she did get in touch. Now the owner posts a response saying it was user error.. I have a screen shot of the delivery time of 12:28 -12:58 the restaurant did not tell me anything only that they hadn't heard from your business and that they had other problems before.. probably why the 3 stars. Nbd just won't use the service again and I don't recommend anyone else to read more

Love these guys. Everyone is so cool. Jenna was my last delivery driver, but everyone is so nice.

Stephen was right on time with my delivery from Sweet Chix in Greenland, NH. The fried chicken was lovely too. I definitely will use The Takeout Guys again and recommend them to others. read more

SOOOOOOO overpriced!!! Don't ever order from them! Just go to the actual restaurant you are ordering from & sit down and eat. I ordered from one of the higher rated restaurants & had a salad & lobster Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was disgusting, and the salad wasn't hearty enough... i also found a nice long hair in my Mac and cheese. I paid $34 for those two things. You know When you pack your kid a lunch in those little plastic tupperwares? Both of my items were about as big as that. Not to mention they make you tip thru The app for the driver, which is fine... but then they charge you for delivery. So delivery +tip + your meal. It also took well over an hour & 1/2 to be delivered. They're located down the street from my work & so was the place I ordered from. Won't order from this service again. read more

Unreliable service. We've TRIED to use them several times, but have only successfully received food once. The order usually gets canceled 10-20 minutes after placing it with varied excuses. It is currently 6pm on a Sunday and our 5:45pm order was canceled because the restaurant was 'too busy'. Called the restaurant for takeout and they accepted no problem. Might try them again but will never rely on them to actually deliver food. Updated, response to the company: Understood you are dealing with several restaurants that are not in your control. But once we had our order canceled because the 'weather was bad' in our area. If that's the case, don't accept the order. Once it was canceled due to a restaurant being busy but only after 45 minutes and multiple phone calls. If you can't fulfill an order, fine, but it shouldn't take 45 minutes to inform the customer of that. read more

So I usually go get my own takeout but I'm a convert - I'm a huge fan of this service. Even in these crazy COVID times I have gotten my food right on time each time I've ordered. I saw a comment about the 20% tip - I am perfectly ok with that - these guys do all the heavy work - they have coupons all the time to reduce the delivery cost and I am home on the couch with a blanket waiting for food when its really cold and yucky outside. So worth it - I believe in paying / tipping people for good service so I would have left a 20% tip for good service in a restaurant - these guys do all the work and deliver good food - their selection of restaurants has increased. I recommend you give this service a try. Delivery from Portsmouth (where you can't park!) right to your door - hot and delicious. Oh Ya - every single time thanks so much! read more

2 hours out, no show. Claimed that they communicated via call and email but lied even after proof.

Extremely upset! Feel cheated for not knowing of this service for the last 2 years. Couldn't get faster delivery back at home. Great professional friendly service. Customer for life!!! How do I franchise this.? * gotcha.. No one reads a 5 star good review they only want to read the bad ones. Guilty ^^ read more

Takeout Guys - Oh yea! - Food Delivery Services Near Me

Very unreliable. I have use them a few times now. the number one problem is that they are unable to be accurate on delivery times. When ordering you will see an estimated delivery time, once you place the order and start watching for delivery, the time keeps creeping up and up and is often 1hr or more later than you were shown prior to placing the order. Once this happens....there is no way to cancel you just wait!! Or as we have had to do, go pick up and came home, eat and wait for what has now become tomorrow's lunch to arrive. If you have a family and kids that are hungry you can not rely on this service to deliver on the time that tell you. read more

I've used their service twice and both times it has been amazing. They deliver the food in a timely manner and are always friendly. I highly suggest trying out their business. Update: They are still AMAZING! read more

This review is based on the service provided and not specifically on the food delivered from a third party. I have lived in a few cities much much bigger than Portsmouth/Kittery and not been able to enjoy such a wide variety of delivery options. As well as that the website was easy to use, and I thought the charges were fair for restaurant food delivery. I received a notification when the driver arrived at the restaurant to pick up the food, and another one when he was leaving. Tip is included and driver was pleasant and had a nice demeanor. I also had a coupon from my hotel which saved a few bucks....... Never a bad thing! In a nutshell: Would use again. read more

We ordered from take out guys at 530- at 645pm the app still stated we had a 75 min wait and blamed the restaurant- the app was not helpful, however someone called and stated they (TOG) was understaffed and they had not even submitted our order to the restaurant and said it would be an additional 45 mins to get the order (that would be almost 3 hours later) - while discussing the various options we had the take out guys rep hung up on me!- Do not use them - rude service and they mark the prices up one everything read more

I'm not from around these parts as my followers know. They also know I give credit, constructive criticism, thanks for my service and far reviews. That being said here I am in Portsmouth. It's cold, windy and rainy out today. I went out exploring all day and I'm wet and cold so I thought to myself delivery would be nice as parking in Downtown Portsmouth is a true nightmare for an outsider that is unfamiliar with the area. That and parking cost you an arm and leg regardless of where you park. So, staying in sounded wonderful. That being said I called a restaurant asking if they delivered and they replied no but that these guys did. So I jumped on the opportunity. Yes you have to wait some time to get your food, but that's not all the deliveries fault. The gentleman was nice and polite. We didn't chat much. The food showed up hot and my milkshake still super cold. Thank you for your service and time. I would totally recommend using the service for an outsider not wanting to leave there hotel. I ordered at 6:40pm and got my meal at 7:38. Yes it's a bit pricy but honestly when I weigh out parking and eating here it cost about the same. Specially because I get seafood. Thanks again! read more

Love this service . Living in a hotel for the next 3 months for work and the weather has been gloomy and cold. So sick of pizza take out! This service gives you choices and the food is always hot and delivered within the time they say. It's worth the extra money, which really isn't much. read more

I placed an online order with Takeout Guys from The Riverworks in Exeter, NH on 8/15 at 4:30 PM sometime after 6 PM we still hadn't received our food. After 2 attempts to call the number (with no answer) we were able to get a hold of Takeout Guys via chat and were told that we placed the order to be delivered on 8/16. What person orders burgers to be delivered the next day. The person on chat stated that they would reorder our food and that we would receive it in 45 minutes. After another hour and a half we still had no food, we once again contacted them by chat and were told that the restaurant was not longer taking orders. How can a restaurant take orders at 4:30, change your order to next day delivery and then not be doing any orders at all. It is a shame we have ordered from Takeout Guys in the past but will no longer be using your service. This has been the most confusing food takeout service in this area. There are new services now available and we will move our business to them. read more

Takeout Guys have been a lifesaver. They have been wonderful in calling if there is an issue, as well as letting me know if there was a problem with the restaurant (Holiday hours weren't updated). There was a glitch in an order and they had the issue fixed within two minutes (not even joking, actually two minutes). Highly recommend their services! read more

Late and order incorrect but decided to give them another shot. They delivered the completely wrong order. Restaurant stated they gave them the wrong order, Takeout Guys blamed restaurant. Restaurant fixed my order, no questions asked and brought it to me. Takeout Guys played the blame game, said they were going to refund me but then called me back and said we aren't giving you anything because we still had to pay the restaurant. I appreciate your response but since you were not the one on the phone, your made-up response is a joke. I called and spoke to the restaurant owner whom was wonderful. I told her that I was upset that takeout guys has done this before through their company. She stated that Takeout Guys placed the incorrect order, was confused how you could since it was placed via computer and not over the phone and said she wanted to make it right and drive it here themselves. She and I had great interaction so please get your story straight. As for Eric at Takeout guys, he said he placed the order but then recanted stating it was someone else. Said he'd replace the order and I stated I already spoke with the restaurant and that they said they were going to do it also mention they were reaching out to other delivery services . At which time Eric asked me what I wanted him to do about it. I said refund my money and get the sandwiches you dropped off because BOTH were incorrect (another fact you'd know of you were actually involved) . He agreed to do so then called back ten minutes later and said that you wouldn't do it. Good business!! Talking about something you weren't involved with. As for theses times and understanding?? Take some accountability and be a company of your word!! read more

Used these guys a few times now, delivering to us from a variety of local restaurants. I've always been satisfied with their speed and attentiveness when little quirks (like the restaurant is out of something) pop up. Very convenient "big city" delivery service in small town, Kittery! read more

I wanted to give this place a chance, as I am currently staying in a hotel on business and thought the idea was a neat concept. Ordered about 8pm, received confirmation email, and waited. Now it's 1030, apparently the place closes at 10, and still no food. Not even a call or text, either. Would've been nice to know that I should at least order something else, instead of waiting until everything is closed to find out you're not getting your food. read more

OMFG! Wish I could give them zero stars. I ordered a pizza through their website and all seemed well at the start. They texted me to say they would be in the lobby of my hotel soon so I headed down stairs. I stood in the middle of the lobby for 20 minutes and no one showed up. When I went back up to the room I texted them to ask where they were and they said the pizza was left at the front desk when the first texted me. So now my pizza was ice cold at the front desk. That is NOT how to run a delivery service, leaving it with the front desk when they ask for your room number during the ordering process. I called American Express to reverse the charges on the food and the service. I would not recommend these incompetent, unprofessionals to anyone. I would have been better off walking to get my pizza. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM ! ! ! read more

I have never used this service before, but would like to comment on something that is bothersome, on more then one occasion I saw a take out guy driver parked in a handicap area. the car did have a handicap sign, but when I saw the guy run from place to place, not sure it warrants the use of that spot. last night the driver was parked in the spot for quite a while, as a real handicap person had to make their way from the other end of the parking lot. Shame on you take guys for letting this happen. please fix it. read more

Easy to order and food is always hot! I just wish there to be more pictures of what you're getting sometimes.

I've ordered from them a few times and have enjoyed their service. However, I'm a little disappointed that my breakfast arrived completely beaten up this morning. The eggs were smashed and all the sauce was sticking to the lid of the takeout box. read more

Takeout Guys are great! I used them for the first time since I moved to the area tonight and they delivered the wrong item which was the restaurant's mistake. This was the first but definitely not the last time that we will use Takeout Guys!!! read more

Totally amazed. I've known about this service for a while now and until tonight, never tried it. We ordered dinner from Bob's Broiled Chicken and the food was delivered exactly at the time ordered and it was hot & delicious! Will certainly do this again. read more

So convenient! Plus they are very attentive. I asked for a side of salsa with our nachos from Mojos. Our take out guys driver called us and informed us that they usually do not give that out as a side because they're BBQ nachos and they do not even put salsa on them. He said he would try anyway but historically they haven't. I thought that was so thoughtful! read more

I would order continuously from takeout guys but lately almost every order I have placed an item is missing. Now today I have ordered from Lexis which is 6 min away from me and it is taking them almost 2 hrs to deliver the order to me. It is frustrating waiting for my order and being told that it is on the way when in fact it is not. I will not be placing anymore orders from takeout guys because this is a continuous mistake that happens so frequent.. read more

For the third or fourth time in a row I received a call from these people, after over an hour, that my order was not going to be filled. As I said this is multiple times they have allowed me to sit waiting for my food, only to call me to tell me my food isn't coming. You'd think you'd know that within say 10 or 15 minutes after the order was placed. But, no, with these guys they let you sit for well over an hour and then they call you when it's too late to order anywhere else. I overlooked this terrible service multiple times, but tonight I snapped when the guy who called said they have no control over anything. Great, THIS IS YOUR BUSINESS AND YOU'RE FINE COLLECTING PEOPLE'S MONEY UNTIL SOMETHING GOES WRONG THEN YOU TAKE NO ACCOUNTABILITY AND BLAME EVERYONE ELSE! The service is poor and the company takes no responsibility. I'm shocked and outraged! Use Takeout Guys at you own risk. This hasn't happened with any other service I've used (Gofer, Grubhub or DoorDash). It should also be mentioned that each time this has happened it has caused a hold on money in my account for days. It's awful. read more

I am in town visiting my husband who is up for work at the shipyard and came across this website one day we were trying to decide on a place to eat. Okay so I order from them literally AT LEAST 2-3 times a week. and it's always sushi with 2 regular red bulls. When I got my order today, my food was 100% amazing, but they grabbed me sugar free red bulls instead. I'm not normally picky, but I'm allergic to the sugar substitute they use in the sugar free kind. I emailed the owner, Elizabeth (who is very sweet, personable, and prompt about getting back to you if you have ANY questions or concerns), and she quickly emailed back apologizing, and has already sent a driver out to me with the Red Bulls I CAN drink. Our office ordered from here today and because of a system glitch when refreshing the wait time tracker the order was placed again. We had no idea this had happened until the second order showed up for delivery. When calling to have the second order refunded because of their error they refused! They are still refusing to refund the second order that their system placed in error. The owner states there is no way that their system glitches and we somehow placed the same exact order? We refused the second order and the employee on the phone stated "Well I guess the delivery driver has lunch." Absolutely terrible customer service. I will make sure to tell anyone I hear thinking about ordering through Take Out Guys to stay away from this service. read more

I've used this service twice recently and both times was very pleased with the speed and accuracy of what was ordered. The company doesn't have control over the quality of the food that you order, but they have paired up with some pretty good local restaurants. This service is nice but when a $12 dish turns out to be $20 because you add on gratuity automatically, you decide to not to order with them. Then if you order from two different places right next to each other say IHOP and El Rodeo there are two separate delivery fees. I get that we are paying for convenience but like I said a $12 dish turning into $20, I rather just go get the food myself. read more
