After living in Lubbock a few years and using a Take 5 location there, it only made sense to use one in Amarillo after we moved. Not a fan at all of the service received. Was told I needed a radiator flush, new air filter I had changed 4 days prior (I can get the same one online for 1/5 of the cost they charge in house). After my last trip to Lubbock I went to my old location and they also checked my radiator fluids and showed me the results. Said the levels were fine and no action was needed any time soon. The employees at the Amarillo location seemed less than the professional level I'm used to receiving at other locations. Some conversations should not be had within earshot of customers. read more

Went in for an oil change before a trip and the attendant was snippy and in 100-degree weather would not let me out of my car. Just have to sit there for 15-30 min. This is the policy but the poor attitude was the straw that made me just leave and go to Jiffy Lube. Avoid this terrible business and go to Jiffy Lube!!! Just down the street, they rotated my tires at no charge, and changed my oil without complaint or being chastised over "policies". The poor employees. They seemed short handed. I Didn't see a manager the whole time i was there. The employees where nice and respectful and really cared about my car. They showed me my air filters which i didn't even know i had. I over herd one of the employees complaining about not having a lunch yet. And they had been there 9hr already. I really enjoyed my experience but it seemed they could care less about there employees. Seems if they hired more people then the people could take breaks and at the least lunch breaks. Great prices tho!!! Lowest in town and its really fun to stay in your car the whole time. And hearing them call out really made the experience quite fun. This place is trash!! My son brought his 2016 Mustang 2.3T to get an oil change. The moron who did the actual work overfilled it because he failed to check the specs. He made it 5 miles down the road and the oil pressure light came on and it started knocking. He pulled over and called them and they sent Greg who was most helpful. Unfortunately it took 3 hours for what should have taken 20 mins. Hopefully it didn't do irreparable damage to his turbo. They offer him a 50% off coupon for the next oil change, what a slap in the face!! read more

Went in to get an oil change because my sticker said I was 2000 miles overdue. Guys take a look at the oil and show it to us and say you've got another 2000 miles oil life left on this. Recommended a fluid check and come back 2000 miles from now. Never had that kind of customer-focused service before. They could have (like every other place) sold us an oil change we did not really need just to make a buck. They just gained a repeat customer for sure! read more

Left oil filter loose on one vehicle and was leaking oil everywhere. Did not install the plastic engine cover on my wife's vehicle and could not find it when we called back. Talked to the manager on the phone and she hung up on me. Will not do business with them again. Worst customer service ever. read more

All of the people that works at the two locations that I have visited were so attentive. One of the locations that I went to actually told me that I didn't need to get my oil changed at my oil was good. So they didn't try to screw me and make me pay money. They told me that I had a good 500 miles left on my oil. I really appreciated that kind of service. There's no way I will go anywhere else to get my oil or get my inspections anywhere else. The engine oil light had been on for a while so even though I had only driven a little over a thousand miles since the last oil change which was right before I bought the car, I was afraid not to do it and it had been a year so I asked around and Take Five came pretty highly recommended. Mostly it was mothers who liked it because they didn't have to get out of their car which was true for me also. I might have rather had a place that was a little less expensive even if I had to go wait in a lounge. They had two choices and I had been told by fellow Mercury Mariner owners to get the non-synthetic. The guy said the cheaper one was a blend and I didn't see any sign that they offered anything besides the blend and the full synthetic so I gave the okay to the blend. The price ended up being about $55 including the oil, the filter, and the labor. I guess that's fair enough. I saw that they also did the inspection which was due since it had been a year since I bought the car but they couldn't do the inspection unless I could show the proof of insurance and I was a little late in paying that so I left straight from Take 5 to go to my insurance agent's office and get that squared away. There was a Midas right next to the insurance agent that did inspections so I just took the car over there since I wanted to go pay for the registration next but I was not nearly as happy with the Midas as I was with the Take 5, I have to say that. They gave me the paperwork for the wrong car and I had to go back the next day to get the correct paperwork and had to wait about 20 minutes for that. So I definitely recommend Take Five. read more

My husband took his truck in to get it inspected for the annual registration. To his surprise this place lives up to their name it takes about 5 minutes. By the time he paid out they were bringing the truck around, job completed. He asked about oil changes and they said that for his truck they would use Rotella (just what he prefers). He also stated that the price they quoted him seemed very fair. The staff was very friendly and open to all of his questions. I got my oil changed on May 29, 2024. While I was getting my oil changed, the pricing was extremely unclear, the person helping me didn't seem to understand what I was asking regarding pricing and felt like he was trying to just upsell me more services I did not need. A week later, while driving, I began hearing an awful scratching noise from my under my car. I pulled over and saw that the skid plate was hanging off and immediately went to my mechanic to see what had happened. I was advised that it was broken from the oil change that Take5 did for me and I needed to get them to replace what they broke. Since then, my husband and I have called EVERY WEEK - to the local location where the oil change was done and also to the corporate customer service number online AND have left multiple detailed messages. I have yet to receive a return phone call. There are no other options to get in touch with an actual person who can assist. The skid plate on my car is still broken and I am going to be forced to pay for it out of pocket to their incompetence. Where do I even begin? Let's start with the truths. If you take your vehicle here for any kind of service and the Technicians harm your vehicle, you must be prepared for a total lack of ownership and business ethics from the bottom up. I took my 2013 F-150 in for a routine oil change that became NOT so routine AT ALL! On Feb 8th, they completed an oil change, several days later, my oil change light on my dash came on saying I needed an oil change. I thought that was odd because it was just completed, but thought maybe they had not put enough oil in at the time of change. They also have a "top off" program where they will top off your oil if needed between changes, so I stopped in. Once they lifted the hood, it became apparent that something was wrong. It turns out the dip stick had been broken. They made several attempts to remove the broken stick and could not. Since I was holding up the bay, they said to take my truck to Blaze's Automotive and they would repair it at no charge to me. I promptly took my truck to Blaze's. After they had a good look and sent the estimate to Take 5's Manager, things quickly changed. In order to remove the broken dip stick, the valve cover on the drivers side needed to be removed, this was not a cheap fix, $785 to be exact was the estimate. I was contacted by the Manager and told they would not be paying for my repair, I was told my truck was "old" and they offered $300 as a buy out for their mistake and then claimed they didn't break anything . I accepted their $300 and paid the remaining balance out of pocket. I've mentioned this to close friends of mine and they all have said, "Yeah, I could have told you not to go there". So, now, I'm telling all of you who will listen, don't go here, it could end up costing you a lot more than an oil change. read more

Took my daughter's car there for an oil change. They left the hood ajar with the power steer cap off which did not allow the hood to close. Her car started leaking oil, and a lot of it, right when she got home. We took it back and they spent five minutes saying nothing was wrong. Then decided it was a part they do not touch, therefore the leak could not be something they did. After looking at it we have determined they overtightened the oil filter cover causing the oil filter housing to crack. We will NEVER take our business there again. They really deserve 0 stars. read more

I am giving them 3 stars, because yes, they are fast. However, I did call to check the price. I have been to one in another town and it was reasonably priced. However, when I arrived, rep stated we are out of this one. So, I had to pay the higher price and then when I arrived home, it was also $5 higher than the quoted price. Perhaps, if out of the other, maybe offer a discount. If oil change is what you do all day, how can you be out? I think I will go back to my regular place. Have to wait a little while, but they do top off fluids. No top off or windshield cleaning here and should have been for what I paid. They are courteous and fast. They can stay in business, if they just offer value and give you the quoted price. I went here, because I thought it would be reasonable. I drive quite a bit, so need frequent oil changes, so I need a good price and have my fluids topped off, as well. read more
