My wife went to Van's on her regular mechanic's recommendation for a wheel alignment. They told her…read morean alignment would be pointless, that her car needed roughly $4,000 in repairs, and that it was unsafe to drive. Frightened, she authorized the minimum they said was necessary to make it safe. She was charged approximately $1,600 for rear brakes and rotors. When she contacted her regular mechanic, he disputed the need for that work, explaining that those components had been replaced just ten months earlier. After she posted a negative review, manager Dennis asked her to come in. He told her his district manager had seen the review and instructed him to "fix this." During that conversation, Dennis reviewed her bill, acknowledged that she had been overcharged for labor, and offered to refund the overcharge and provide a free alignment. My wife understandably declined to let them work on her car again. Dennis then offered to reimburse her for an alignment elsewhere. The promised reimbursement has not arrived. Van's public response to her review suggests that their conversation restored her confidence in the business. It did not. They acknowledged overbilling her, promised reimbursement, and failed to follow through. We have no confidence in this business and will not return. Before authorizing expensive repairs here--especially repairs presented as urgently necessary for your safety--get an independent second opinion.

used Solid Buy Car Wash for several years and had their monthly subscription, which was really easy…read moreto use and manage through the app. I'll be honest, it's not the best car wash, but I originally used it because it was touchless. I prefer touchless washes because brushes can scratch up your car, so for the price the subscription originally was, I felt like it was worth it. It did the job. The problem is that they have raised their prices quite a bit, and at the new price, it just isn't worth it to me anymore. Every time I went through, my car would be left with a noticeable haze on it. It didn't matter how many times I washed it, I would still have to go home and try to buff the haze off. There's also a really odd thing they do during the drying cycle. When you're in the last 15 seconds of the dryer, they start the wash behind you even though there isn't a car in it, apparently to rinse out the lines or something. That water ends up soaking your car again right as you're finishing the wash. It just seems like a really dumb system. Overall, I didn't mind using Solid Buy when the subscription was reasonably priced. The convenience and touchless aspect made it worthwhile despite the issues. But with the significant price increase and the fact that my car was never actually coming out clean without additional work, I decided it was no longer worth what they're charging.
