Great food - Had meal at the spot also took out. Makes You feel at home just like the Caribbean. Only issue I personally have is... they shut down at least 2-3 times within a few years and wondering why that keeps happening...definitely call to see if they are open. Is too bad because they can really be one of the best Spanish places in the area but not consistent with the hours. Not even sure they are still open when writing this review. I actually go another restaurant 35 minutes from my home but super worth it!!! Even order some Thanksgiving food but will not disclose that Information here.... First Time Trying Tainos Latin Food I finally had the chance to try Tainos Latin food, and it did not disappoint! I went for the Cuban sandwich--perfectly pressed, flavorful, and just the right amount of crunch. My son ordered the beef stew with white rice and beans, a hearty, comforting dish that looked incredible. Just as I turned around, my son had finished his first plate and was already diving into his second! That's how you know the food is seriously good. Stopped in as they were highly recommended. I can see why. The counter was full of fresh food. I picked white rice with pink beans and oven roasted chicken. It was delicious! I basically ate my whole plate. I also ordered a chicken empanada. It was a bit dry. I still ate it. I ordered a alcaparra. It was freshly made and so delicious. I don't live in the area. Food was bad and the service was nonexistent. Ordered the tamarin do water asked if it was fresh was told yes it was horrible freshly made with powered in ingredients ordered bacalito they were small rubbery balls no dipping sauce ordered the Cuban sandwich also horrible so much mustard made my bread soggy and very stingy with the meat after waiting to be served for 35 minutes and there was only another table so it was not busy to have to wait for so long for bad food. I decided to stop and try their Alcapurria . I was so disappointed when I got home they were overly cooked the meat was so burnt in the inside . Sadly to say there aren't any good Spanish restaurants near me that I can say it was delicious. read more

I was literally starving after working 8 hours during a move job and had a few hours left to go. I got a ton of food, rice, beans, plantains, tres leches, water. Price came out to 21 dollars. I was shocked, surprised, and happy. I ate every last bite of the rice and beans, licked the plate on the tres leches, and saved about half the plantains to take home for later. Ladies and gentlemen, I have not felt better. The restaurant is about 30 minutes from my house but I tell you what, I am dreaming about going back out there. Highly, highly recommended. This is one of those hidden gems you here about. Modest, low key, great prices, awesome food. This is how its supposed to be!!! tldr; Amazing food, lovely young server gave wonderful service. Price was great for what you got, and what you got was even better. Definitely will have to make a trip out there again at some point. Did a takeout order. This place used to be Mina's and I preferred their food. They had a fantastic chef, Javier but with Javier gone, haven't been there much. Anyway, tried the pepper steak, oxtails and bacalaitos. I tasted ZERO fish in the bacalaitos. Sprinkled some old bay on them when i got home. Pepper steak was tasty. Husband said the oxtails were a bit bland. Portions were generous which made the price ok. It was dinner for two days. read more
