    Maggie's "grooming".

Our first, and only, experience with Tailz Grooming was horrible. We brought our 15-year-old pure-bred Maltese (Maggie) in for routine grooming in December. They requested that we pay upfront for the service, which we did. I do not recommend that you do this. We received a call a short time later stating that, due to matting in Maggie's coat, they had to "go shorter" than planned for the cut. When we returned to pick up Maggie, we were absolutely shocked to find that her coat had been completely removed. We were never informed that they intended to shave off Maggie's full coat. We have taken our Maltese and Yorkie to other competent groomers, and never once has there been an issue with matting that required our dogs to be shaved. I called the owner/manager to discuss and request a refund. She was extremely defensive and refused to refund our payment. She has not returned any of our subsequent phone calls. In my opinion, this is an extremely unprofessional business, and I would NOT recommend that you bring your dog to Tailz for any grooming services.

I never did figure out how they managed to tame my vicious attack dog but I think he looks pretty happy

I thought Bernie was doomed to a life of backyard haircuts by me until I met the amazing staff at Tailz. Previous groomers at larger pet store chains had either refused to complete the groom because of his aggression or did a really quick "best as they could" job as they would call it. The experience at Tailz was completely different the minute we walked in the door. The environment was calm and we were immediately met with smiles and friendly voices. I warned the lovely staff about Bernie's anger management issues and left him in their capable hands. I was shocked when they called me in less than 2 hours to say Bernie was ready to go. The other place made us book a half day appointment and they kenneled him until it was his turn....I would probably be upset too if my barber ran his shop that way. I arrived to the happiest and most handsome puppy I had ever picked up from the salon as we now refer to it. Bernie actually gets excited when he realizes he's going to see the girls at Tailz. I can't thank the staff enough for how well they treat him and I'm pretty sure Bernie would give them 6 out of 5 bones for service if he could. We're customer's for life. Thanks ladies!!!!

    Dogtopia - Excited for daycare!

I was a little worried because for the first hour she was there she was almost out of camera view hugging the wall, but then she hopped right in there and followed the daycare staff around most of the rest of the few hours I left her. The second time I left her for a half day. She whined and looked back at where the other dogs were like she wanted to go back and play. Like, please don't make me leave. Can't you see I'm having fun. The last time I left her was for my second COVID shot and it hit me hard so I wound up leaving her for the whole day. No complaints from her. She was a tired and happy pup, as per usual. Now she seems to spend a quarter of her time lounging, a quarter of her time sniffing other dogs and half following the staff around because apparently mop is best toy. After trying one other daycare and having a terrible experience, I will definitely be relying on Dogtopia going forward.

I went out of town for a few days and had a friend drop off Louis and pick him up for the evening. The dog boarding overnight is an additional $20 on top of the $37 you're already paying for daycare so I wanted to skip that. Tres cher. I do wish there was more affordable dog daycare and boarding options downtown. I have a French Bulldog who is medium energy. He came back totally pooped. If you need a quiet evening, daycare is the way to go. The staff seem patient and helpful. The dogs are divided into two separate rooms for the big ones and the smaller ones. They have a nap time from 12-2 to give the dogs a break during the day. They have rubberized mats to ease the joints of the doggos on their four feet all day. There's a webcam you can check during the day too if you're also feeling separation anxiety.

I've been to many many vet over s span of 30 years and this one is the best so far. Thank you all west brook staff . You are the best

My experience with Westbrook Vet Clinic started out great - initially…read more Staff was really friendly and they were all excited about her, as they had never seen her breed before; a Black Russian Terrier. I then booked an appt. for her required second set of shots. (note: I spent quite awhile at that first visit, as what dog lover doesn't love to talk about their dog? LOL. I felt they were a bit 'heavy handed' about the insurance. But take it or leave it right? As it turned out - to get insurance for my dog; with a $250. deductible it would have cost me ONLY $500. plus per month. I just about fell on the floor. I was stunned that anyone could say that with a straight face. Seriously?!?! Obscenely ridiculous. I don't know anyone - with or without tons of money who would EVER consider paying such extortion-like prices.) However, the part that left me VERY UNIMPRESSED was that when I went in for my appt. (you know; pre-booked for that specific service?) The vet was friendly and examined her in a small exam room. He gave her the kennel cough nasal dosing and then proceeded to tell me that they 'were out' of vaccines. Sooooo NOT COOL!! But stuff happens and although I wasn't thrilled to have to return again; it was not the end of the world. Right? So, I return when the vaccines 'came in' and I was stunned to have a 'woman from the front counter' (what were her credentials? was she a vet tech? She didn't clarify anything) She just took her leash from me and promptly WALKED AWAY WITH MY DOG (not inviting me, the owner to follow or otherwise) she went into one of the exam rooms and passed thru the rear door (closing it behind her) I, of course followed, thinking 'what the heck are you doing lady?!?!' I open the rear door to their back room - where I said "Um, I want to be WITH my dog and SEE the vaccination" and there she was giving her the injection! Of course she may well have been a trained vet assistant but I'll never know! She was quite arrogant about the whole thing and acted like I was making a big deal out of nothing. I PAID for a physical exam and expected the VET to give her the injection. (I can go to G & E Pharmacy and obtain my own vaccinations for about $9 bucks. *** I have owned dogs forever and done this countless times in the past; when my pets were in great physical condition (you cannot do rabies yourself, but I had never taken any of my dogs out in the bush or forested areas so I never had rabies shots done) Needless to say, the 'in-stock' preparedness was a big FAIL but the 'woman-at-the-counter-walking-away-with-my-dog' (without explanation) was ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE. I have dealt with vet techs and have no problem. But in this case who knows what her training was? The ONLY reason I go to a vet is for 'THE VET'!!!! Never again. - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE - VERY POOR COMMUNICATION SKILLS They blew it, period.
