Whenever I have clothes (that I care about) and need alterations done, I go to Tailor Town because the quality of work is the best I've seen here in Glendale so far (and I've been to a number of tailors here). I've been going here for years but haven't been back since the start of the pandemic since I work from home and haven't had the need to get any of my clothes altered. I went back there just recently to get a suit hemmed. It was nice to know that Rubina still remembered me after all these years. I came in on a Thursday afternoon to get my suit jacket sleeves and pants hemmed. My clothes were ready by Wednesday afternoon the following week. I ended paying $80 for everything. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. All the buttons on my suit jacket were still there. I don't know how they do it because other tailors will just cut the jacket from the wrist. Very quality work. Other alterations I had Rubina do on my clothes in the past were placing darts on my shirt and also hemming my jeans while maintaining the original hem. High quality workmanship and I highly recommend Tailor Town to others looking for a good tailor. read more

If I can give 10 stars I would love to but 5 stars to Tailor Town! I took my vintage Tupac memorial shirt from 1997 to them because I had bought it with a very stretched neck/collar and I wanted it to be shorter and a tighter neck. I was worried that cutting it might ruin the shirt but they did such a great job on the collar that it looks like it was natural on the shirt. The neck is shorter and tighter and I thank you guys so much for making this tshirt of mine 100x more lovable! When I bought my suit from Ted Baker they said they didn't have my size. So I had no choice but have the suit be tailored to better fit my odd shaped body. So they recommended me to tailor town which is a few min drive from the Galleria. When I arrived I was greeted with such amazing service and hospitality. Rubina, I think that's her name, she told me to stand in front of the mirror and started to take measurements. She also gave some amazing recommendations on the length and how it should be cut to look fitted on my body. The attention to detail from her is beyond wonderful. What a fantastic group of people. Rubina and her group of tailors are amazing. Let me start by saying I was not going to write a review, but because of how I was treated and the fact that they actually helped me, they get the review that is so well deserved. A++. Both my grandparents were tailors and I have always been surrounded by needles and thread and have known a few things when it comes to tailoring, so it meant a lot that these women saw my vision and actually altered the dress to how I wanted it. I went to 3 other "tailors" in Glendale and they were my last stop, I wish I went to them first. If you can believe it, the other 3 locations said they could not do it and that I would be changing the whole dress and that it's not possible. I was flabbergasted to say the least when they told me this. So I left sad and disappointed, beginning to think that maybe I am not right in thinking that my off the shoulder request was possible. I'm a nervous second-guesser when it comes to fit, but everyone here knows their stuff and will give you expert opinions & service. After getting my second tailored dress back home I noticed the zipper was bumping out in a weird way when I moved. I wasn't sure if anything could be done and I needed the dress ASAP for a wedding. My go-to with my finer items. They are the real deal. I might get a torn seam or a hem done at my local dry cleaner. But for real alterations I use tailor town. They aren't inexpensive but they are not over priced either. You get what you pay for and when I say they know what they're doing I mean it. They do beautiful work. I collect vintage and they alter my pieces imperceptibly. If I find a good deal on a designer item and the fit is not perfect, I factor in the alteration cost and I know it will be done correctly. Often making my clothes look custom made. They are a LOVELY family as well. They will turn an item around as quickly as possible but you have to communicate if you need it done fast. I usually take things I am not in a rush for so that they can take their time to do their artistry without pressure. I have asked for a quicker result once or twice when I needed it and they helped me out then too. I cannot recommend enough. The best! read more

I purchased a dress for my daughters wedding that required significant alterations. I got a recommendation to take my dress to Tailor Town. The glowing reviews held true for me too. Rubina was so patient, professional and kind! She really knows her business! This was not a simple alteration due to the lace and rhinestones that are all over the dress. The bodice required a reduction, which required the lace to be carefully removed and then restored. The sleeves and length also required changes. The dress is now perfect and considering the amount of alterations, the price was reasonable. I highly recommend Tailor Town and Rubina!!! read more

As previously mentioned I initially brought in shoes to try on with the dress for the first fitting, not necessarily the exact shoes I was going to wear but none the less the same inches. I came back after a week to pick it up, unfortunately forgetting to bring my shoes with me. No problem they say, "We have sample shoes that you can use while you're here." The tallest they had were 2 inchers...BOY! Was that dress short! I was horrified that they did that to my dress. Imagine what it would look like had I worn the shoes I intended to?! Is there such a thing as high-water dress? (BTW, the dress was shorter than requested and I had to buy new shorter heeled shoes to keep the length of my dress low to the ground.) No apologies were given and the only alternative suggestion was that I buy "shorter" shoes. So due to your mistake I now have to somehow find the time to return my shoes and buy new ones? Unbelievable. I am appalled at their lack of remorse and offered no apologies for their mistake. Never again will I go there or recommend them to ANYONE! read more

Do not trust these people with your clothes! I brought a skirt to be taken in and the pockets to be sewn shut, a dress to be taken in, and a pair of pants to be hemmed. Well... They had a week to complete all 3 items, to be picked up on Friday. I actually gave them an extra day going in on Saturday. None of the items were ready, they said to come back the next day. So, I go back on Sunday, and they managed to botch the dress and the pants. They ended up sewing the pockets of the pants closed, NOT the skirt like I instructed, so I had to wait an extra 20 minutes for them to sew the pockets on the skirt. The dress is not wearable because they sewed the lining of it with the hem on the outside, which means it doesn't sit right on the sides. And the pants were hemmed too short, it looks like I'm wearing floods! Not to mention it was ridiculously expensive, over $90 for crap work. I will NEVER bring another item of clothing to them again, and would strongly dissuade anyone from trusting them with theirs. read more

I recently tried to use the Tailor Town location on California Street - I have been there 3 times during their 'normal business hours' to drop off items, pick them up etc - and they never seem to be open. Because of this frustration with the shop never being open when it should be, or when they say it should be, I will not use this business or refer anyone to them in the future. I'm at the last minute again looking for dress pants and coat. It's New Years weekend and the mall is packed. I found the pants and the coat but both needed to be altered. I called a few places but it was going to take a week and I needed for the next day. One of the sales people where I purchased the pants referred me to tailor town. The lady at tailor town was amazing. She had my pants and coat ready for my event. Pants on the same day and the coat the next day. The quality of work is also a five star. This is my go to tailor shop! I have been coming here ever since I came to fix my prom dress about six years ago. I bought my prom dress on clearance but it was 4 sizes too big, but I bought it in hopes that someone could fix it for me. I honestly didn't think it was possible to fix this with the amount of beading on it and without ruining the design of the dress, but Tailor Town surprised me! I cannot say enough nice things about Tailor Town! They are INCREDIBLE!! They will bend over backwards to make their customers happy and get things done even same-day if needed. They are also affordable! I frequently come in with a giant pile of clothes (sometimes 10+ pieces) that need to be dramatically altered same-day and Tailor Town some how miraculously gets everything done on time and perfectly!! I have trusted them with extremely expensive gowns, suits, etc. and they always turn out flawless. They have also completely recreated costumes and outfits for me from scratch (happy to share photos) and they always come out exactly how I envisioned. I cannot say how grateful I am about the owner's willingness to accommodate me. I had a last minute alteration to do on a suit and came in late on a Saturday. The Yelp hours were wrong (see the photos posted for correct hours). Anyway, I showed up right as they were closing, they took me in and altered my suit pants on the spot. "What is this suit for?" "A job interview" "Why didn't you come in sooner?!" This place is awful. I took a sweater there to get a zipper replaced. When I arrived to pick it up they said they couldn't do it. OK fine... but they wouldn't give me my $$ back. I was standing there with a $30.00 receipt and the owner tells me that I didn't pay them $30.00. That was what I was to pay for pick up. Maybe so but when I dropped it off the lady took $30.00 from me. He proceeds to tell me to just leave his store that he is not going to give me any money. The woman I gave to money to was standing (hiding) behind a curtain and I begged him to go ask her. He proceeded to berate me AKA yelling at the top of his lungs until I said fine I am going to security. He proceeds to run past me (OH did I mention I was 8 months pregnant at the time?) to beat me to security. They calmed him down and sent him back. I filed a report and I am sure nothing happened but they are HORRIBLE and of course I never got my money. read more
