I would suggest to those interested in using this service to be VERY explicit in what you want and what you expect. They will not offer to help you. I regret not doing any research on alterations and what questions I should ask before handing over my clothes. I am mostly mad at myself because i didn't ask for things that could have easily been done...but I am also mad that these professionals did not say, "Try it on before you leave. Do you like it? Can we change it, or make it better/different?" When you pick up your item(s), PLEASE make sure you try them on before you leave. Tailor Maid provided the absolute worst professional tailoring I've ever seen, and they're top contenders for the absolute worst customer service experience I've ever had. Don't waste your time or money here, make the short drive over to Silver Threads and let those ladies take care of you. A short rant: A few months ago I brought a skirt to Tailor Maid to get the waistline taken in. I was given a pick-up date of about three weeks later. I came back a few days after my pick-up date, and the skirt wasn't done. They didn't bother to call or anything, but they did apologize and I summed it up to a fluke, a minor annoyance. A week after that I went back again and picked it up, but when I put it on it was sticking out in weird places on the sides and the pleats were attached all wrong, in addition to the skirt still being too large. Very sloppy work. When I brought it back to get fixed there were no apologies about the workmanship, I was just told not to worry about it, and there would be no charge. Very rude. Anyway, I was again given a pick-up date of about 3 weeks out. I thought my skirt should have been given higher priority because of the circumstances, but it was not so. Another annoyance, but I just thought "oh well, at least I'll have it soon." I went to pick it up on my pick-up date. It was not done, again. No call, no apology, I was just told it would be done by the end of the week. By this time I was getting pretty miffed, since I made ANOTHER drive to Henderson center for nothing. I waited for the end of the day on Friday to make sure I gave them until the very end of the week before I went back again, STILL not done. I was told it would be the first thing done on Monday. I went back on Tuesday. Still not done. Again, no call or anything, just a rude lady with an heir of entitlement. I got my skirt and money back, and went straight to Silver Threads. A week and a half later, I was wearing my beautifully fitting skirt. read more

i had four pairs of jeans altered...i must say i always read reviews on businesses before i go there and when i read theirs i was extremely nervous because they had so many negative reviews and not to mention it was my very first time getting my jeans done...they were soooo nice to me i just showed up she was right in the middle of working and sent me in the dressing room pinned all four pairs right there she even asked me if i was in a hurry to get them back...i picked them up today and they are perfect!!!...i could not be happier!!!....i would completely recommend tailor maid!! read more

The only reason I am writing this review is because I chose this company to make my dresses due to the good reviews that I read on here and I wanted to share my experience. The people are very nice but the quality of workmanship and their time management skills are of low quality. I had five dresses made from the same pattern ( I was told by them and other people who reviewed their work it was a simple pattern) and all but one turned out to be a mess. The dresses were to be done in a months time but it took two months to complete the work. I was "fit" on 3 different occasions and none of the fittings were of any use. I was told the reason why the dresses did not turn out the same was because of the different materials. Yet when I took the dresses home and turned them inside out the stitching showed that the dresses were all sewn differently. Also some of the seam work is crunched up because they did not change the thread tension. The first time the dresses were suppose to be done they did not fit. I was then "refitted". The second time they were suppose to be done, one arm pit was sewn higher than the other and they didn't cut the material the same size so all but one dress was too big (the material difference when one dress was placed on the other was about two inches) which was suppose to be taken care of with the second fitting and the one that was a close fit was too snug. There were darts in the snug dress and I asked for the darts to be removed. They were suppose to remove the darts and I was told they did. They didn't remove the darts. I did. I have photos of the dresses at all of these stages The dresses cost $40 a piece to make so that is a total of $200. To be fair I was not charged for one of the dresses and they did not charge me for lining material that was used on one of the dresses plus Debbie was kind enough to come to my home for one fitting and on two occasions drop off the dresses at my home. I say two occasions because the dresses had to be fixed a total of three times ( the final fix looks bad) because they were not cut right. I was also told if I had problems with the dresses I could bring them in to be worked on. As far as time management goes the deadline was repeatedly changed due to various reasons. I paid $160 for 4 dresses that I can't wear because they are so poorly made and 1 dress that is adequate. The people are very nice but I am out $140 for workmanship and $50 for material. I do not recommend them for dress making. But they are very nice people. read more

I went into this business panicked because the bridesmaid dress I received in the mail for a friend's wedding (which was 3 weeks away) did not come even close to fitting. They took the dress apart and completely re-made it in about a week and a half. I have to say all I truly expected was to be able to put it on but she exceded my expectations and did a very nice job making a nice dress that was more than just wearable. read more

I should have shortened my jeans myself. That way you wouldn't be able to see my ankles, which is exactly what the jeans now allow you to do after they were shortened by Tailor Made. This is also the most unfriendly business I have encountered in the three months I've lived in Eureka. In fact, it's the only one I've entered here where the atmosphere is toxic. I feel sorry for the employees. They're located very close by where I live, but I won't ever use them again. read more

So I just had to review on this place, and I don't usually take time to do so. I have 3 pair of jeans to hem/ patch. I was looking up alterations in my small town and found Tailor Maid. Checked their reviews which all seemed to be pretty decent. When I called to inquire not only was the lady on the other end rude, but very condescending. All I asked was how long it would take to hem a few pair of pants, and she quickly responded how ever long you want them, and laughed. I continued to apologize and "clarify" what I meant with that question. I asked again how many DAYS would it take to hem a few pair of pants. She said well whenever you need them, but usually a week. and Still being rude. I politely ended the conversation, and I will NEVER take my hard earned money into their shop. They should be ashamed of their unprofessional demeanor when dealing with potential customers over the phone... RUDE! read more

I really hate giving a bad review, but I am so disappointed with Tailor-made. I brought in two pairs of jeans that needed hemming and a jacket that I wanted the buttons fixed. The lady who took my order (I think it was the owner) seemed nice. I brought them in on the 14th and she said that would be done by the 27th. Although this seemed like plenty of time, I guess it wasn't. I came by on the 27th the people working there couldn't seem to find my clothes. They were confused and asked me if I had already picked them up, Umm no I haven't, why would I be here. Finally I noticed the same bag that I had brought my clothes in on the ground, untouched. The lady explained to me that they had not been hemmed, I suspect my clothes were sitting there since the day I brought them in. The lady was unapologetic and rude. Anyways I will be taking my clothes elsewhere, this was a terrible experience. Their work may be good, however there is no excuse for terrible customer service. read more

SO BAD! I am still in the throes of trying to get my alterations done after almost 3 weeks and dealing with borderline rudeness. I took in a jacket to have 3 buttonholes put in and attaching 3 vintage buttons. That's it - a 15 minute job. I also took in a pair of jeans to take in hems and make them more of a "skinny jean". Got the phone call after a week that jobs were done. First the issue with the jacket...it had 3 strange buttons on it not the vintage ones I bought in. They took it back, no apology. And rather than simply sewing the vintage buttons on which would have only taken about 5 minutes, they scheduled it for a week out. After a week I went back and was asked "Did you get a phone call?". Ah, no. Figured that a week was long enough to replace 3 buttons. Buttons STILL not put on, and it was THEIR mistake! Told it was scheduled for that day. Next day got a phone call that it was ready, went to pick it up, and store closed with no note, and in spite of their hours of operation posted stating they would be open. Still do not have my jacket after 9 days -- and ONLY TO CHANGE OUT 3 BUTTONS mind you! Now the jeans: SO BAD. The jean legs were taken in and the extra fabric sewn on either side of the hem. Not removed and selvaged like a store-bought jean, but the extra fabric was sewn into a WIDE swath going up my leg from the hem to mid calf! Can't fit them into my boots nor roll into cuffs since the excess BULKY fabric shows! Who would alter jean legs to be skinnier and then instead of removing the excess fabric, attach it to the sides so its thick and bulky? AWFUL experience. Never again. read more
