First of all there is NO Derzens in Humboldt County so I don't know what that woman is talking about. And for the Bride that didn't believe in paying for someones time, as a seamstress my self your dress needed a complete rework, that takes hours of time and yes you should pay for a fitting. You obviously don't understand what it takes to do the kind of work you asked for. These people are artists and deserve to be paid for their time. People get cranky and make mistakes but I am sure that some of you people were very unpleasant when it came to your interactions with the ladies of Tailor Made.

Don't take anything to her that you care about…read more After looking at other reviews on here, I've figured out the business probably sold between the time of service a friend had here and when she recommended it to me. She had great service, and was super excited to recommend the business, but didn't recognize the name of the owner (Lindsay) when I was talking to her about it. I took my wedding dress to Lindsay last year and thought it would be super simple. I showed up to my first appointment and she just went to work pinning things without asking me what I wanted done. I'm not a seamstress so I didn't feel qualified to butt-in, but at the same time, it's my dress and I should have given my thoughts on how I wanted it to look. She said everything she was doing would be super quick and easy, and kept dismissing my concerns. I was worried since she wouldn't even give me a ballpark quote or idea of what these things would cost. She would get really defensive whenever I would ask, and just say that quality work costs money. I don't like conflict so I would just let it go, but I really didn't have room in my budget for her attitude. I thought I just needed a bustle and everything else fit fine. I didn't have a large budget and I wanted the dress to be reusable for my kids, so I really didn't want to make it super fitted to me. She had some kind of breakdown and went off on me during a fitting. I kept trying to say that I liked the work she had done and was just wondering what it would cost, and she just kept going on and on like I wasn't there or even talking. It was incredibly uncomfortable and I just felt like walking out of there in the dress. Over a hundred dollars later I had to pick up the dress because I just wasn't comfortable with her having it anymore. I know that there's always the chance a young bride is being overdramatic, but I couldn't get over how weird Lindsay was and the icky feeling I had about her having my dress. I had to spend over $300 paying another seamstress to fix what Lindsay had done to my dress. She had gotten partway through the bust after having my dress for three months. It was not anywhere near fitting me and the new seamstress couldn't figure out what Lindsay was trying to do. I couldn't even tell the difference between the three appointments I had with her to know what she was charging me for after three months. I have my dress back and it finally fits me, but there's almost zero chance any of my kids will be able to wear it if they get married any older than I am. After Lindsay had done the changes she thought were needed, the new seamstress couldn't take it back to what it was when I bought it. So it had to be fitted so differently that it's really customized to my shape. I just can't get over the fact that it literally was so beautiful when I bought it and it fit me perfectly fine- if I had just advocated for myself it might have been better, but no seamstress should pressure a bride into alterations she doesn't want. I'm really disappointed and regret taking my dress there.
