Before the new management took over, this was my go-to shop to have patches made or have things fixed. Always done in a timely manner and ready when expected. Since the change of management and location, the shop has gone downhill. Reliability is down the drain. I've showed up multiple times to pick up my items and told to come back the next day or they pull it out and work on it right there. Where was this effort over the previous week? This was the last draw. They had my items for nearly 2 weeks. I even had a call after the 9 day mark that the items would be ready on day 10. I had other things going on and showed up on day 13 to pick them up. They were sitting on the floor and I was told they were not ready but would be done at the same time the following day. I showed up today at 3:10 to find the closed sign on the door and could see my item sitting on the floor in the same spot it was when I dropped it off and unfinished. When the door was finally opened, the excuse was made that they're swamped and super busy but there was nobody working and the sign on the door says that after 2pm, no tailor is on duty. The work is fine if they do it but avoid this shop if you're expecting your items to be done in a timely manner. I took my items to another shop that will be done in 3-4 days. read more

They do outstanding work with patches and embroidery. Their staff is very courteous and has never been unprofessional. I really want to give them 5 stars but what holds them back is their inaccurate pick up times/timeliness. If they tell you to pick up on Wednesday don't bother, call them 2 or 3 days later and ask them if it's complete. Once they confirm it's done THEN go in and pick up your order. Too many times I've been told "Wednesday at noon it'll be done". That day will come and I'll go in to pick up my order only to be told "it's not done, come back before close". So I come back before close and it's still not done. A couple days later the order is finally ready. As long as you're in no rush to get your order and are willing to wait for good work, I'd recommend Tailor-Maid. If you need something more basic in a timely manner I'd recommend Young's Tailor. read more

Cons: 1) items were not ready when I went to go pick them up 2) piles of uniforms from multiple customers were in bins on the floor 3) inconsistency with handiwork 4) pricier than average Pros: 1) the items were eventually completed same day after about 30+ min of waiting, so I didn't have to make an additional trip back out to that area 2) they take credit card I only needed name tapes and rank sewn onto my uniform- blouse and cover. This place was recommended to my bf via his Guard colleagues and I decided to give it a try. After this experience, I told him not to come here. My experience doesn't seem unique, but rather a pattern in how they operate. This was my last time going to this business to have work done on a piece. I dropped off two items on a Monday and was told to come back the following Monday to pick-up and that it would probably be done sooner because he had other similar items to work on (Laughable to think about now). Monday comes around and I go to pick up, I hand him my ticket and he says "Oh, I was actually just about to start working on these, can you come back later?" I told him I wouldn't be in the area and that I would be back Tuesday morning. Tuesday morning I walk in, he literally tells me the exact same thing, "Oh! I just finished with a similar item, and was going to do these next, can you come back later?" I couldn't because I had work conflicts, but he promised it would be ready in the morning and that he would even have it cleaned (LOL) Wednesday morning I wasn't even in the mood to play his little games, I called right after they opened, asked if my item was ready, was told yes, and then went by an hour later and picked it up. Not only was it not "cleaned," but it was actually noticeably dirty. An item that I needed by a certain time wasn't even able to get cleaned professionally because of this unprofessional business. A star is above what they deserve. I ordered patches for my squadron booster club with them and put down the $500 deposit. Within 24 hours I was asked by the CC to pause the order due to controversy over colors. I called and spoke with Mike (the owner) and he said he would hold off making the patches but wouldn't refund me until we asked for it (assuming we would still order from them). After further info came in from the squadron they decided to order through a different shop, so I called and spoke to Mike again and asked for the funds to be returned. He said they would refund the funds. I've called a dozen times so far and have not received a refund. I'm pretty sure he even recognizes my number and won't even pick up anymore. Definitely don't recommend this business to anyone. read more

Under the new management this storied shop has gone from one of the best and most reliable patch and embroidery shops in the country to a place I would recommend avoiding. Everyone is nice and the product is fine, but i haven't had a single item finished on time in two years. And several orders i kept coming back at rolling delivery dates up to four times. read more

Worst service I have ever experienced!! I took him my pants on April 8th to be taken up & in and here it is April 20th and I'm picking my pants up not even started on! When I took them in they were already marked and I informed him of this he waits until 4/16 to tell mr that he isn't comfortable working off someone else's markings, which I completely understand but why didn't you say that when I dropped them off too you on April 8th!! So if you need anything with in a month I would not even thing about Tailor-Maid he caters to his personal clients 1st!!!! read more

Don't expect it to be done on time. His shop is a mess, very unorganized and he seems to do a lot of same day rush orders, which could be a factor for why nothing's ever done. I dropped off uniform and asked for it back in 1 week. I came back with my family waiting in the car and he said it wasn't done, but said I could wait 20 min and it will be ready. I said I couldn't wait and I'll be back the next week. Came back next week (a month later because my event was postponed) and AGAIN it wasn't done. To add to it, his dog attacked me at the door. He told me he ran out of needles, but to wait 10 minutes. I asked for a refund and was given 1/2 off after an argument. Nice guy, but business is not a strong suit. UPDATE: Dropped my uniform off for Dry Cleaning and the other business mentioned the hem done by Tailor Maid was falling apart, was not sewn correctly, and the liner was too tight. Let me preface this by saying that I am extremely patient, overly trusting, and almost always give folks the benefit of the doubt. I dropped a jacket to get patches sewn on a year ago. Obviously it wasn't pressing or it wouldn't have been there for a full calendar year. Cut to Tuesday, last week. I wanted to check up on it so I could have it for a Veteran's Day parade with my daughter. I called the shop. No answer. I went by, saw my jacket on the rack (honestly surprised) and asked if it would be ready by a week from the following Thursday (9 days time). I was told it was next up and would be done no later than Thurs. I gave a little bit of slack and went in the following Mon (3 days extra). Not ready. (If you're still reading this you're audibly calling me an idiot, rightfully so). I went back late morning on Wed and he said it would absolutely be done Thurs AM. I had some errands to run so I came in mid AM Thurs. STILL NOT DONE. This is where I should've been finally fed up and just taken it, but I really wanted those damn patches on there. I had an appointment so I left and said I would be back in a few hours. I returned just as I said I would and they were closed for the day! FIVE FULL HOURS before they were supposed to be closed. So now I won't have my jacket and it's going to be freezing! They could've have at least given me a courtesy call. I will NEVER EVER take any business back there and will warn anyone who is willing to listen to stay away. Obviously I'm pissed off, but some professionalism and pride in your business would go a long way. read more

It doesn't matter if you are suppose to get uniforms back in one day or twenty days. It will never be ready. I had someone who needed stuff sewn on and I said "Go to Tailor Maid. They can rush it for a fee." My coworker paid for the work to be completed within 24 hour and the owner said "pick it up this dry cleaner tomorrow." My guy went to the dry cleaner to pick up his uniform and the dry cleaner never received his uniform. He goes back to tailor maid and they never even did his uniform. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. read more

Their prices are also cheaper than many other alternatives around. I'm very pleased and constantly recommend their services to many of my associates. Highly recommended. read more

OMGOODNESS!!! I dropped off pants to be hemmed.... PAID IN ADVANCE which I never do... was told to pick them up on Oct 28. I have been to the store 4 times... today is Nov 4.... still NOT DONE... still in the EXACT SAME BASKET!!! I am usually pretty patient.. I would give 0 stars if that was an option! Owner will make promises on when an item will be complete, but not follow though. Gives constant excuses for his lack of professionalism & consistency. Shop stinks like mold and dust and is very dirty and cluttered. Work is half-assed and sloppily done at best. Owner charged me almost $300 more than what was originally quoted, but could not explain why the charges had gone from under $100 to over $300 - except to say "cost of materials" (which I looked up and the materials were not over $100, to wit he again and then quoted "it was a tough job"). He never contacted me prior to starting or even finishing the project to let me know the charges were going to go up by 300% - just hit me with it when I was in the store picking up my merchandise. Attempted to work with the owner on this and one other issue for well over 6 months, but continued to run into failed promise after failed promise after failed promise - new BS excuse after new BS excuse. I've never known a business to tell their customer this many lies on such a consistent basis! To put it bluntly: Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! I will say however, if you're military and need a name tape or patch sewn on really quick while you wait in the store - they are good at that. Everything else is horrible!! The quality of the work here is really high. However, they're slow and expensive. Also, their business is not standardized. I had some shirts altered, and I was told to wait a week. I left my phone number and came back a week later. My shirts weren't ready because there was a small question that she needed me to answer. I asked why she didn't call me, but she didn't answer. Then she was able to fix my shirts the same day, so I really don't understand why I had to wait a week in the first place, and then she charged me $25. The same alteration would cost me $10 elsewhere. A second time, I took some leggings to get a pinhole mended. This type of alteration is usually done for free and while I wait. They charged me $5 and made me wait 2 days. Again, it wasn't finished when I got there and I had to press her to do it then. When pressed, she mended the leggings in the time it took me to go 3 doors down and pick up my dry cleaning. While I was there, I saw her promise to fix another woman's pants same day. I felt disrespected as a customer, but regardless, it was expensive and slow. While they do a good job, it's not worth the hassle, the cost, or the constant irritation. read more
