I came in to Edmond Alterations for the first time on Monday. I needed two pairs of linen pants hemmed very quickly. Even with the language barrier, he was kind and able to accommodate me. We talked well enough to find a common interest. He completed the pants for me in 2 HOURS! I came back to pick them up and was very pleased with the work that was done. They do require payment upfront, but it is a very reasonable price, especially for the turnaround time. I would 100% recommend Mr. Kim and his services. read more

Man, i understand that certain people can find the pro tailor a bit abrupt, but honestly maybe don't go into the exchange looking to have your feelings taken care of with perfection, try focusing on the clothes, because he certainly does! ESL is only difficult for those who don't want to try so, if you have an ounce of patience, don't mind short efficient responses, and want literally anything tailored.... look no further. My 68 yr old mother has been going to mr. kim for over 20+ yrs. and they have a small but great relationship and she is picky ands has never once complained, not once. She introduced me to mr. kim when i needed patches on vintage leather (thick leather too) and her hand sewed each one at home overnight because he likes to please his customers. If someone acts up, he may dent your service, as anybody should. Don't believe the rating, believe a loyal customer who had been looking for years for a quality tailor and have tried most places within 45mins from edmond. Edmond Alterations did an amazing job on my prom dress!! I had to have it hemmed a bit because it was too long, and they did great on it. One thing about my dress is that it has tons of pearl beading, which made it more difficult to work on, but they didn't let it get in the way! They worked on it very quickly but meticulously as well. Terrible experience. This old man came up front (I got the impression he was the owner or at least a manager) and was incredibly rude. I barely got my inquiry out when he criticized me and abruptly shut me down. I thought maybe he misunderstood something due to a possible language barrier. Before I could even try rephrasing my request, he had already turned away and walked off, despite me clearly still talking! Incredibly rude and unpleasant experience. A ZERO stars is more like it. Sexist and rude. I am surprised this guy has not made the news for now he speaks to and treats women. I took pants in to have them hemmed for my daughter. I know her length in these jeans (they just didn't have the short ones so I got reg length) . I told him the length and even had them marked. He would not do it unless she was there to try on. (Kinda hard. She is out of state). As long as he hemmed to the length I said, it is my responsibility if it's wrong. Just do your damn job. I've never been treated so poorly by a business in my life. I've been to this place twice. The first time I took a dress and his first words were that I needed to pay upfront, which is fine but it was just the way he said it and acted. When I was trying the dress on he started shouting at me so l hurried up. I thought that there were more people but nobody was there. His English is so limited but since I myself am a foreigner I was super understanding of the situation, but he has the tendency to scream at you when you don't understand, also he disregarded anything I said. I want to mention the job he did on my dress was well done, that's why I wanted to put aside his attitude. I decided to come for a second time, again I was screamed at me and when I was trying my dress on he would move my hands around aggressively while raising his voice and rolling his eyes. We couldn't understand each other and he got frustrated and pushed me away twice telling me to go to someone else. I have never felt so humiliated and mistreated. I was just trying to give this man a second chance that he clearly didn't deserve. By the way this is my first time leaving a bad review but he has definitely earned this bad review. Ladies beware. I took 3 Tommy Bahama camp shirts in to have cut down. (The style has changed since I purchased them years ago. The shirts were $125 -150 each, so I didn't want to give them away and start over. I will admit communication is tough, especially with him wearing double masks, and he is opinionated and abrupt. That said, he sized the shirts just as I asked, did a good job and had them ready prior to the promised date. My only issue is I was a bit optimistic regarding my waist size, which is on me, not him. It would seem the low rated reviews posted regarding this business have more to do with the gentleman's personality rather than the quality of his work. If you are looking for quality work and are not of a sensitive, easily offended nature, I believe you will be happy. Snowflakes should probably try another business. read more

Rude, rude, rude. It says open until 6 on yelp, so I drove over after work and arrived about 4:45. The sign said they closed at 5 instead and to wear a mask. I went back to my car to get a mask and entered. The guy seemed annoyed to have a customer. When I asked about getting my pants hemmed, the guy said something about my shoe and I replied yes I have on shoes that I would typically wear with these pants. He cut me off and said no (which made no sense) then told me he closed at 5 and he could help me tomorrow. Unfortunately that doesn't work for me since I work until 4:30 everyday and raced over. Apparently you need to be there by 4 for him to help you. Also, there was an "open" sign turned on in the window. I typically avoid going into a business right at closing, but maybe get your hours correct on yelp and be respectful to your customers. It wouldn't have taken 5 minutes to try on the pants and work on them another day this week. read more

I went by there on Saturday to see if he could hem my dress. The first thing that came out his mouth was I had to pay up front. That wasn't a problem. He took my dress and put it on the counter. He asked me if I wanted it hem a straight hem. I answered no. The back of the dress is like circle, I wanted him to turn the hem up and follow the out lined. He wanted to cut it straight across and that was not the way the dress was made. I offered to put the dress on and he kept telling. He became very frustrated and told me to go somewhere else. Very unsatisfied with my experience here today. My usual tailor was closed for the weekend so I decided to try Edmond Alterations. We walk in and the man working sighed like we were horribly putting him out. Before even asking me what I needed done he repeatedly said "pay now, pay now". I put the dress on for him to measure me and he refused to listen to what I wanted. Interrupting me and telling me to hush. Yelled at me a good 15 times for moving. I wanted the waist line of the dress moved up due to being pregnant and he would just not listen to me. He didn't pin the hem or measure how much needed taken off. He didn't pin the shoulders either. I ended up just walking out because I was in no way confident I'd come back and be happy with the end product. In all the places I've been, he is possibly one of the most insufferable people I've met. They do an okay enough job, but the customer service is terrible and is not worth their work. This second time I went in for a simple sewing of a patch, but was interrupted each time I tried to explain the specifics of it. I have been a customer and a friend to Mr. Yong Choi Kim since he opened his shop at the Bryant Square location years ago,and followed him to his new shop location off 15th m, near Broadway. It has been quite an experience to see this amazing Taylor grow in clientele. His expertise and honesty (what it may seem to others as rudeness) are his hallmark. He knows what needs to be done without any explanations, thus I have observed the loving understanding of well known people of our community; media personalities, our Edmond's professional representatives, many of our medical professionals and many not so well known people like myself just coming in and let Mr. Yong Choi Kim take over without any argumentation, because we all know he understands what needs to be done. Here's my last experience: a very expensive dress I had borrowed from a friend was practically ruined by spilled hot coffee around the neck line. As I displayed the damaged area, his response was, "Oh, good! Come back next Friday for it!" I knew right away he would make it like new, and, of course he did a beautiful job. Years ago, I became like a daughter to him, I remember getting him signed up for a Pike Pass and later, serving as a witness at his son's wedding . I have been taking my clothing items here for almost 10 years now. They are the best I have found in the Oklahoma City, Edmond & Tulsa areas... EVER! And I've been using alteration places for about 30 years. The gentleman that takes care of my items recently impressed me by fixing 6 holes in a pair of expensive reversible jeans that are suede on one side & painted a pewter color on the other. *See picture. He fixed them so well that I literally cannot remember, or see, where the holes were! If you want top quality work, go here! You will get what you pay for!
