My appointment was for 60 min body massage and 30 min reflexology. For a half an hour, all she did was push down on my body with a blanket covering my body. Which is Nothing. Felt nothing and a waste of time. Shame on this place. She later on focused more on my back than anything else. I didn't get the arms, the legs, or the feet. This place is a joke. I appreciate the dollar a minute but let me tell you she had no experience. Very disappointed. Save your money. Will never return, this is a one and done place. If you want a massage in a room with walls then this is not the place for you. (I saw the one yelper give a bad review but sounds like she was expecting something else entirely). The 'rooms' are divided by screen which are 100% private. It's usually pretty quiet altough you ocassionaly get that loud person that can't figure out how to whisper but that's not often. My hubby and I have been going here for almost 10 years and I have yet to be disappointed. You definitely get the best bang for your buck. They take walk ins which is awesome with my scheule. I usually get 30 minutes on my feet and 30 on my back. I feel so refreshed when I leave there. Honestly i think I fall asleep half the time I get a foot massage since it's so amazing. Parking is in the lot which is hard during meal times. There are about 20 stores in the shopping center and Outback takes up a bunch of spaces. So be prepared to walk across the lot if you come during dinner. Either way I still will go back over and over.... They have a customer in me. read more

My request was for someone strong for what I thought was supposed to be a deep tissue massage however this is where the disappointment set in. The first thing you must realize is that Taiji is not a typical American massage place full of fru-fru decor, private rooms with spa music playing over head and a list of essential oils from which to choose. It's a typical Asian salon where the massage areas are partitioned off only by Shoji screens and curtains. This is totally normal at an Asian salon and I point this out so that people realize beforehand and have an educated experience and not write a bad review because they don't recognize The difference between the two styles of massage. At Taiji I saw approximately eight massage beds partitioned off this way. I've done this dozens of times so I'm used to it. In fact I had no problems falling asleep today at some point during my hour long massage. And neither did the man in the next partition area because he was gently snoring during his massage. The only thing that I think that they should improve here is The leg bolster needs to be replaced because the one in my bed was just about deflated. Also the neck cradle was similarly not as strong as it should be. This location isn't that old so perhaps the equipment was used at another salon before it came here? This was sufficiently problematic enough to deduct at least one star. Other than that everything was wonderful. The place was clean and there was a manager or owner on site at 5 PM on a Saturday which is good because she took care of all of the office/managerial things which often is not the case at other massage salons. Because she was on site there were no language barrier issues either. My masseuse asked me a couple times if the pressure was OK or too much. That also was wonderful because my experience at other Asian salons is that you have to use hand gestures to let them know if the pressure is too strong. At this type of salon you will find talented masseuses who learned their craft from people who practice ancient techniques.Here you can choose between a really deep tissue massage or their gentler version complete with lotion and hot stones. My massage technician was female and she got every kink out of my body and left me feeling very relaxed. I heard A few other people say the same thing of their masseuses when they were checking out. I enjoyed my reasonably priced Massage at Taiji Acucare enough to add it to my rotation. read more

I went to the Drexel hill location and had an amazing massage by Kelly. I have been a customer at the Springfield location for years but never at the Drexel Hill location. I was a little nervous about the massage since It was my first massage with Kelly who I just met. I was very impressed with her ability to know where my pain was with out having to explain my back history. She made me feel very comfortable, she was not too rough, and had a relaxing technique. I fell asleep during the massage and a had a relaxing nights sleep that night. read more

Fantastic service and attentive massager therapist that listened to my requests. I had a reflexology foot massage for 30 min and a 60 min accupressue massage on my back. The back massage was deep and hard and really helped relieve the acute back pain I was having. The rooms are divided with work cubicle type dividers so there is more of an open air feel to the room but the service more than makes up for the lack of ambiance. I will return again. read more

I truly enjoy using their reflexology and massage services. I don't need an appointment, they are good at what they do, it's clean, priced right and I always feel better after their message. I have been going to them for a few years and have not had a bad experience. And I feel soo relaxed after I've had a reflexology session. I've developed terrible issues with my feet and now have planters fasciitis and that seems to help a bit. Disappointed. If you are looking for a deep tissue massage, do NOT come here. I received a Swedish massage, even though i asked for deep tissue and the Swedish massage was even lighter than any Swedish massage I've ever had. When the massage therapist asked me about the pressure she was putting on my back, I politely told her it was ok, just a little too soft and I asked her if she could go deeper because my back is pretty tight but she still kept the same light pressure. She even pointed out the spots where the knots were and didn't use her arms in the massage at all, no forearm, no elbow, nothing. Didn't work ANY kinks out. Also, face pillow needs to be put in the washer - it smelled like urine. Smh. I personally do not like leaving negative reviews, but I tried so hard to like this place. I read the reviews prior to going there and I saw a great review about the deep tissue...don't think that person was on the clock today or I just didn't get them. I have waited to write a review until I visited multiple times for different services. I LOVE this place. I am someone who likes a very deep tissue massage, and traditional massage places I find myself leaving annoyed and feeling like I didn't get my money's worth. Not here! Along with being very convenient and affordable, the massages here are great. I am a self-proclaimed massage junkie, and I'm always looking for new places to try. While nothing fancy, both massages I've had here so far have been very good. As opposed to some dollar a minute, walk-in places, here you are asked to remove your clothing and lotion is applied to your skin during the massage along with hot stones and hot towels which feels great! As another Yelper pointed out, this location offers very good massages and good value but you need to manage your expectations. My masseuse was excellent. That was most important to me My table was awful - it squeaked non-stop throughout the massage and the face rest became painful. There is basically a shower curtain between each of the stations and you can hear every conversation as well as the traffic on Baltimore Pike when the door opens. It's not particularly dark. Basically, there is zero ambiance and minimal privacy. But the massage was great and lasted a full 60 minutes. After confirming a $50 rate over Yelp and showing the conversation when I walked in, I was still charged $60. With tip, $75. If they put up walls between the stations and used better tables, it would help a lot. As is, I don't think I will go back unless I am in a lot of pain and need to get in same-day. read more

When you first see "strip mall massage parlor" you instantly question your decision. I was in bad shape with shoulder knots, and needed help. The woman that massaged me was top notch. I only have Swedish massage experience, so deep tissue was a little intense for me but my husband who was a massage virgin enjoyed his deep tissue massage. Yes!! This morning my husband and I had simultaneous deep-tissue massages. We were led to separate 'cubes' where we were given a few moments to undress and lay face down. Neither of us was asked about our back problems, but our masseuses certainly figured them out quick enough. We were posed with the option for 'middle' or 'hard'; my husband chose 'middle'. When we debriefed at the end, he said that his masseuse used some sort of roller to get his knots out and that "sometimes it felt like there were two people" working on him. I chose 'hard', and my masseuse went at my shoulder knots with dexterous, unrelenting fingers, then utterly demolished my lower back (and buns!) with what felt like her elbow. If you find yourself in that shopping center wondering where to toss your money, remember that you could spend $30 for 30 minutes of Outback Steakhouse and feel like total shit afterward, or $30 for 30 minutes of deep-tissue work and feel like a champion afterward. On vacation this week and decided to give Taiji a try after reading the great reviews. I contacted them via the Yelp chat and received a response within 10 minutes, to come in the same day. I was not disappointed. Just like all the other reviews have pointed out, there are not private rooms but dividers that separate you from other patrons. You can hear a slight bit of talking but most of the workers used professional low voices. The establishment is clean and more importantly the massage was outstanding. This is NOT A SPA, so if you are looking for a place with heated tables, blankets and comfy robes, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a great massage, you will love this place. Wow. I feel great. I just left Taiji massage studio after a one minute therapeutic, deep tissue massage. I went in with an ache in my lower back and some stress pain around my shoulder blades. I don't think that I have ever had a massage before that so thoroughly relieved the pain and tension that I was experiencing. Just got a massage there today. This was my second or third time there. The atmosphere is like others have mentioned; one big room with shoji like dividers that provide visual privacy so you are not on display. You can hear people talking sometimes but there is relaxing asian style spa music playing in the background that you can get lost in. I just relax and think I traveled to an asian city. There is none of the fluff and stuff of spas, just a great relaxing and tension relieving massage. They find the tough spots and take care of them but do not leave out the rest. I think you should get an hour massage at least because it takes me about 10 to 15 minutes to get my mind to relax. Cost is about 60 bucks for an hour but they have different prices depending on the treatment you get and may offer deals. read more

I found Taiji about a year ago as a recommendation from a friend who is a massage therapist herself. Taiji is no frills, however the quality of massage is beyond anything I've ever gotten at higher-priced day spa. Jenny is my favorite masseuse but I've had other women who are wonderful as well. I'm a runner and carry a lot of tension in my shoulders and upper back and Jenny is great at working all my huge knots out! FYI: they generally keep you on your stomach to work on your back, but if you tell them that you'd like some time spent on your legs or front shoulders, they will flip you over and accommodate any requests you have :) At $30 for 30 minutes, it makes it easier to keep up with regular massage and keep my back feeling great. My husband and I had a couples massage at Taiji cure. I sent them an email this morning requesting a 1 pm appointment, and got an email confirmation within half an hour. The place is simple, clean, and as another customer said, no frills (in ambience only). No walled rooms. Chinese folding screens close the 'rooms' entirely so there is a lot of privacy. The only voices I heard were happy customers thanking the receptionist. Now for the massage. My therapist today was Linda. She gave me the best massage I've had in the 17 years I have lived in different parts of the United states. The first few minutes were through the sheets and then she gave an oil massage , along with hot stones and a hot towel scrub down (all the frills). I pointed out my trouble spots and Linda worked those areas so well. She got out all my knots. Fell asleep of course with the oil massage (delicious!) and felt wonderfully light headed at the end of the massage. She understands and speaks enough English to do an excellent job. I've been to both the Springfield and Drexel Hill locations. Lucy at Drexel Hill is great. It is best to make an appointment. Walk ins are welcome, but I have been turned away. I have waited 15 minutes for an appointment. For a 30 min massage- you get a towel put over your body and they do deep pressure points from neck to feet (approx 5 mins) Then they remove towel and work on your back approx 25 mins. Then hot stone approx five mins. I usually have pain in my neck from migraines and I ask them to focus on this area. They do my whole back but to a great job focusing on the knots found when I ask! read more
