Saturday evening, the parking was full behind the restaurant so I dropped off the family and parked at my gym a block down the street. We started with the bang bang shrimp and pork gyoza appetizers which were tasty. The kids had miso soup which was stronger than they are used to. My husband ordered the mixed tempura and the picante roll. I ordered the toro box roll which the whole family enjoyed. Son ordered the salmon which takes 25 minutes to prepare but was worth the wait. Daughter ordered the tempura ramen and liked how they gave her a pot of dried peppers to add to the ramen. Food was outstanding and I think five different staff members came by to check on us. The low sodium soy sauce is in the small shirt container and the regular soy sauce is in the taller container. The plates were pretty and the wooden utensils was unique. I love how the fish is flown in from Japan weekly. And I noticed the health inspection score is now an A, 92. We were in and out within an hour which I thought was extremely prompt. All the food was delicious and I would recommend highly!

Decatur Rd. at a very busy intersection, it sits tucked into a tiny shopping center, blink and you will drive right past it. Parking is limited, and you can immediately tell the small lot fills up fast, especially during peak hours. I stumbled upon Tenya while in town on a Tuesday, scrolling Yelp in search of a solid lunch spot, and I'm glad I did. This is a family-owned Japanese eatery that specializes in comfort food, and according to their website, everything is made from scratch, which absolutely shows in the quality. I placed my order online and picked it up with ease. I ordered the Shrimp Saku Saku appetizer along with a fresh garden Tenya salad. The shrimp were excellent, perfectly crispy with a flavorful panko coating that didn't feel heavy or greasy. The salad was impressively fresh and came with their house-made ginger dressing, which paired beautifully with the crisp greens and added just the right balance of sweetness and tang. Inside, the restaurant is quaint and cozy, with a decent amount of seating for its size. The customer service was warm and welcoming; the lady at the counter greeted me kindly and had my order ready shortly after I arrived, making the pickup process smooth and pleasant. A nice bonus is the selection of packaged Japanese snacks and drinks available at the counter, always a fun touch and something you don't see everywhere. Next time, I plan to dine in and explore more of the menu, along with sampling some of those snacks and drinks. Tenya is a great example of simple, thoughtfully prepared food done right. I'll definitely be back.

I parked on the side of a building and got out and walked. Yall! Maps took me all over the block! I got my steps in that day but it's a lot of eateries so plenty to choose from. Oh, and I enjoyed the graffiti. Just as I was about to give up, I walked by two guys and one of them said, "You look hungry. You must be looking for the noodle spot". He said that people overlook it all the time. I had walked right by the restaurant multiple times. It's seems it's several restaurants share the same space so that confuses a lot of people. Also, the sign that says "Lifting Noodles" indicating you are in the right place was lying on the ground so I missed it. The restaurant is all the way in the back. I was greeted immediately and directed to place my order via a kiosk which I did. I ordered the Angry Zuko Ramen to go. They do have tables if you want to eat there. The wait was not long at all...maybe 5 minutes. The broth was really tasty and flavorful and had a nice kick to it. The meal is already spicy and when I ordered, there was a "make it spicy" option which I checked. So I'm not sure if by checking that option, it made it even more spicy than how it normally is or not. My only complaint is there was not enough meat and the egg tasted funny.. it had a sweet taste to it. Next time, I'll request more meat and no egg.

You have a myriad of restaurants to try, I was feeling like ramen so I stopped in for a Tonkotsu black. The ramen was good, I have to get a spicy, it had a hint of a plant taste to it versus just spice but it was still good though. You have to sit there and wait until they buzz your buzzer to get your food because it's made to order. Told all the things and gave all the detail. I will go back but I will probably try something else.

Despite this, the restaurant was vibrant on a rainy midweek day... Almost full to capacity with patrons. Happy my partner recommended this restaurant! I sat at the bar to place my to go order and was greeted promptly by the bartender. He brought me water and provided the QR code to order. The gentleman next to me was enjoying the Bimibap which looked very enticing, but due to the cold weather, I wanted something warm. Soup was not an option and was directed to the glass noodle dish. The glass noodles were of a sweet potato consistency and included several vegetables. I did not know that the bone marrow mentioned in the description would be an actual marrow, quite large that was discovered once I dug into my dish at home. The flavors exuded were right on point! The portion was also ample for a second meal. Will definitely return to sample the Bimibap on a warmer day and possibly some of the drinks offered. I truly enjoyed the waiting period at the bar, striking up conversation and viewing Misery which was being projected on the wall... A true horror classic. I enjoyed the atmosphere and menu offerings.

The vibe is super cool -- eccentric in the best way, intimate but still lively. They had a movie playing on a projector, which gave the space a whole artsy, underground feel. Now, the menu isn't exactly pescatarian‑friendly, so I couldn't go too crazy, but what I *did* try was solid. The Kimchi Fried Rice was a little on the bland side for me -- I expected more punch since it's kimchi, but the portion was perfect. Most people pair it with their signature chicken dishes anyway, which makes total sense. The Kimchi Crab Cake, though? Absolutely delicious. Packed with savory lump crab, crispy panko coating, and a little lemony finish. YUM. My boyfriend got the Gaja‑style chicken and was obsessed -- crispy, crunchy, tossed in their famous sauce, topped with tofu ranch. He cleaned that plate. Now let's talk drinks. I ordered the Sledge‑o‑matic Lover, and this is the perfect spring/summer drink. Cucumber jalapeño tequila, house‑made watermelon syrup, a splash of lime, a hint of lemon... perfection. It's listed as spicy, but it's really not -- and I'm not a spicy‑drink girlie. This one is fantastic. The service was great too -- warm, attentive, and quick. The food came out faster than expected, everything was hot, and every dish looked beautiful. Gaja really surprised me in the best way.
