I ordered boots that were said to be in stock online (11/22). A few weeks went by, and I reached out asking why my product had not shipped. I received no response until my 3rd email in which I threatened to report them to chase. After that they said they would "request to cancel" as if they are not in control of their own orders. I gave it another week, and today 12/8 I have still not received any update. They only told me the product is on back order. My first order came through very quickly and the pants fit well. My second order took 33 days to ship. 2 weeks from the order confirmation, I reached out (I believe in patience and grace because we've all been the one who screwed up and delayed or lost orders) and responses were either very quick- 3 in the first day (albeit slow to understand which order I was referring to despite including order numbers) or days apart. Information wasn't accurate either; I was told the manufacturer would reach out within 48 business hours but I had to check back in 5 business days later. I was told it was confirmed that it would ship Friday June 16 but the tracking information I finally received on June 22 shows shipping processes originating on June 21. It' s really disappointing that there are not free returns. I would have reordered the boots I bought from TacticalGear.com in the correct size, but I paid $19.99 for shipping (even when using the free shipping coupon that was sent to me by TacticalGear.com) because I needed them shipped to Afghanistan. Deployed members shouldn't have to pay extra to get them to a deployed location. Then when I went to go exchange the boots, turns out there is no free returns. US Patriot offers free shipping even to APO, AE addresses and free exchanges/returns. TacticalGear.com should reconsider their shipping/returns/exchange practices. This business is running a scam. Without my permission , two months after making a small purchase, they started billing my ATM card monthly, claiming that I'd 'authorized' this recurring charge. Nothing could be further from the truth. I called them and someone actually answered the phone in Provo Utah, and told me that they would refund the $14.95 charge within 3-5 days, and would not charge me again in the future. It is always risky ordering clothing over the internet without being able to try them on first. Yet, there were a lot of positive reviews on the tacticalgear.com website about their great customer service (including returns). Well those reviews were absolutely right. My initial order was shipped promptly and correctly. However, my estimation on sizing was a bit off (i think I overestimated how much weight I'd lost) so the pants I ordered were a little too tight. When I called to get a return authorization, the rep was pleasant, helpful and made my return and exchange a breeze. And thank you Yelpers for steering me away from a local shop that I'd also heard poor things about on the street. I'd like to support a local business, but you got win my respect. My first purchase here of 5.11 covert carry shirts on sale was great! But since then no joy! First I ordered a pair of vertex tactical pants 2 months ago and showed in stock. A day after ordering they said its on back order. Poor management of goods and requested a refund and found them same price at a competitor and got them in a few days. Most recently I just bought some new magnum tactical boots to wear on duty. I got them quick and good condition. After one shift the back of my heels got blisters and were thrashed. I emailed customer service about a return. They said technically since I wore them they don't accept returns but will give me store credit. This is poor, worst part of ordering online is not knowing what you get. Because these boots are horribly designed and screwed my feet up after 1 shift I can't get refund???? Their Web site is full of amazing reviews, but everywhere else the reviews seem to reflect my experience. Note that they removed the option to review on Google Reviews. I suspect that are trying to hide their poor service record. Check out the reviews here ad also on www.trustpilot.com and www.resellerratings.com to see real reviews. They claim to have awesome customer service, and in responses to mediocre or poor reviews they post something along the lines of "All you had to do is contact us and we would have fixed it." Believe that if you want to, but in my opinion every order is a gamble with this company. I needed to process an exchange/return. I contacted them through their email because when you call the recording says to contact them though email for the fastest response. They claim "We typically respond within one business day." I wrote to them, and was ignored for a week, and I had to call them. I had to call and endure a ten minute hold time before I was even spoken to. Then I was told no exchanges. Then I was told that one of the items I'd purchased had been discontinued. They did not notify me, and they had not refunded my money. They claimed that had sent me a notice; the rep suggested, "Maybe it's hanging out in one of your spam folders." Guess what? There was no message in my spam folder. Then the rep asked me to place a new order instead of exchanging. As if I'd make a new order with a company that treats me like this. My mother ordered me some gear from Tacticalgear.com as a gift. We were in contact with the business over the phone, as how soon it arrived was high priority. I needed this gear within one week and chose this business out of many (superior) competitors. We were told over the phone that the order "looked good" and would be delivered in time. Then, without any warning, three days later, I received an email saying that the order had been cancelled due to "fraud" because the shipping and billing addresses did not match. My mother has ordered me things from MidwayUSA, PatriotOutfitters, Amazon, Tru-Spec, etc, over the last two weeks, and we've never had an order cancelled over "fraud." Tacticalgear.com also did not choose to email any of the contacts, or call any of the numbers associated with this order before canceling it. Now I will not receive this gear in time even if I re-ordered it. If your business can't handle a difference in billing and shipping address, I don't think you're going to be in business much longer. read more

I placed an order with tacticalgear.com located at 18167 Edison Avenue, Suite B in Chesterfield, MO 63005 on 11FEB2019. Their website said the order will ship in 1-2 business days and I would get an email with the tracking number. I specifically asked "Kurt" the customer service person if the uniforms were in stock as I could not experience a delay due to a MUTA and CO. Inspection and that they needed to have additional fitting and application of Name Tapes and Unit patches. As of 14FEB2019, I had not received an email for shipping. I called their customer service line and was put on hold for more than 14 minutes. When my call was answered I was told that he ( KURT same guy) would have to check with the company on the status of my order. He said when he learned more he would email me the same day. Get to the end of the day and no email, I called again and waited for 10 min to speak to the same person once again. I gave him my Order no. and I was placed on hold, After a few minutes Kurt told me he called the MFG and they told him my order was sent. I asked how it was sent, he said he would check and then got back on the phone stated it was sent UPS. I asked him for the Tracking Number, he said he would have to call the company back and when he gets the information he would email me the Tracking Number. JUST DO NOT put yourself through this process. Do business elsewhere. I should have listened to all of the bad reviews. Against my better judgement I thought I would give Tactical Gear the benefit of the doubt. Did they email me with the Tracking Number? NO THEY DID NOT. Ordered boots online for an upcoming training. Wanted them a few days before so I could break them in a little. Paid for the 2 day shipping. I ordered a pair of Reebok Nano Tactical in Coyote to replace my old and finally falling apart Mini Mils. I got home Friday and the boots had arrived. The box said exactly what I ordered. When I opened up the box it was the right size, right boot, but wrong color. I needed a new pair of boots by Monday. I had hoped that a company that dealt with anything online would have a customer service phone number so that I could get my problem resolved that day and have a pair of boots for training. Instead I was met with an excuse of COVID and employees working from home. If every other company can have their customer service teams work from home and have forwarded calls so can you, it's not a difficult task and it's one my own company accomplished at very little extra cost. I got over that fact thinking that an email would be handled in the same manner. I got an auto response which is typical, but have yet to receive a real response. With no response of any kind by Sunday evening I went and bought another pair of boots from another company. It's now Tuesday and I still have yet to hear from them about my boots. I go into the actual training portion tomorrow, but I doubt at this rate that I will even receive a response before I go into my training. If you work in tactical clothing and equipment, military members are your biggest target. If you can't serve them at varying times and meet the unique demands of their ever changing schedule or accommodate them in some way to help, you will fail as a company. I wish I would have taken the time to read the reviews on the store and not just the shoes I was purchasing. The shoes themselves had good ratings, but the store does not. I was excited to see that I got a sale item at a discount and it was exactly what I needed. I was in between sizes but sized up because I wanted a little more room than less, and they did not have the slightly smaller size, which I was fine with. The price of everything was great, $60 for the shoes, tax, and shipping; not bad. Shortly after I placed my order is when the problems began. I got an email from a very suspicious email address. It was not the same email address that I got the confirmation email from, nor was it anywhere close to the same format. That concerned me right off the bat. So I emailed customer service to see if it was actually an email from them. It was. They accused me of using a fraudulent credit card and cancelled my order. Why? Why does a company have the authority to decide that? That is my bank's job. I was very annoyed at that because I need these shoes for work and now had to find them somewhere else. To further the issue, they told me I could repurchase using something such as PayPal. So instead of immediately running from this website, I went back to try and find the shoes I ordered. I debated doing this because I received a discount on top of the sale price and knew I would not since the sale ended, but looked anyway. The shoes were not to be found. That is when I came to the company reviews and found out I am not the only one this happened to. It seems to be a reoccurring theme that the company runs out of inventory and blames it on credit card fraud. I did receive a refund, as I should, but am extremely thankful to the person who wrote a review saying go to LAPoliceGear instead. As of July 6, 2018 I had not received anything. I called their customer service and was put on hold for more than 10 minutes. When they returned, they said the comany the merchandise comes from (Bates) would be shipping it to me. When I called Bates today, I was told I should get the merchandise by Thursday. They mentioned something about tacticalgear.com not allowing them to ship on July 5th. I'm not a happy customer and feel tacticalgear.com did a bad job on this order. I've seen bad customer service, but this was the worst. I ordered a pair of "in stock" boots December 29 as the price was good and the site said "usually" ships in 1-2 days. I received an order number via e-mail and was told an e-mail with a tracking number would soon follow. January 3rd I tried to call as I never heard from them. The phone just rang and rang unti the line went dead. No voicemail offered. I then sent an e-mail asking what's up. On January 4th I received an e-mail reply that the boots were being shipped directly from the manufacturer. So much for "in stock". The CSR wrote she would contact the manufacturer and send me an update when she heard back. January 8th I sent yet another e-mail saying I hadn't heard anything and if I didn't hear back by end of the business day to cancel my order. Well, nada from them so I contacted Visa to dispute the charge as at this point I think the company's a scam. January 9th I received an e-mail with a tracking number and they apologized for the delay due to the holidays. Hmmm, they must have meant New Years as the one holiday. I checked the tracking number. The item was shipped January 5th. Amazing, I never received a follow up as promised or a response on the 8th. Definitely a one and done. Pay a bit more and buy from a reputable store with liberal return policies (even if the item was worn as long as a year) and great customer service. Lesson learned, again. read more
