It's located inside a martial arts gym. The class took three hours. When you walk in, you sign and waiver and give him your license. After that, you go into a separate room with a projector on. He goes over the components of a gun, how to hold it, and where to point it (and not to point it). He also goes over some of the laws. Towards the end of the class, he took half of the class upstairs. There were 12 of us on a Saturday. That's where the real fun begins. You have to put on ear muffs and safety glasses; this is where you're able to pull a trigger of a 9mm into a canister. That's the first time I've ever pulled a trigger and it was fun. It's loud of course and you could feel the air coming out of the gun. Super powerful! I think people should be able to defend themselves if need be; especially a female who's walking to her car alone at night! This place is pretty cool, you can get your gun safety permit and learn martial arts. After class, we got our official certificates. There was another guy that came in and was selling gun owner's insurance; purchasing it is optional. Check this place out, you won't regret it.

Because of covid the actual class was done via zoom and the competency portion was done in person at the facility. At first I was very skeptical because the class was going to be done via zoom. I thought I wouldn't be taught as effectively as I would had it been in person but I was very wrong. He called on us multiple times to ask us questions, role play certain scenarios, and even interact in the chat. The portion in person was very simple too, you simply show competency with a firearm and he explains a little more and gives you in the end your certificate. A lot of police departments aren't offering fingerprints right now due to COVID-19 but he has BOS coming to his facility twice a week to do fingerprints for $50, which I went ahead and did. This facility also offers multiple courses for firearm safety and training which I do look forward to taking sometime soon. Overall I truly recommend this place if you're looking to getting your concealed weapons license or if you want further firearm training. Chris is definitely doing amazing things here!

My wife and I did a private instruction with Steve Triana of Triana Training Concepts last week…read more This was my wife's first time ever shooting a firearm and she was extremely nervous. She would flinch any time a gun would go off elsewhere in the range. However, Steve recognized immediately why my wife was feeling so nervous and was able to calm her down to the point where she successfully fired her gun with pretty good grouping and good fundamentals. Steve was extremely patient, funny and he never made us feel like beginners. His skills in observation are immensely helpful for me in that he can make corrections with my breathing, my grip, and especially my frustration. I am sure that is not the case with all trainers. He taught us the mechanics of a gun, defining terminology, and showed my wife how to rack and load one in the chamber and how to properly hold the pistol. She made the comment to me on the way home that when he asked if she had any questions he actually meant it. She felt comfortable enough to ask him questions too. My wife is a high school teacher so she understands what it takes to be a great teacher. Steve is just that and more. For me, I came to this lesson after taking the basic firearms safety course the week prior with Steve. We focused on getting me set up with a solid understanding of the basic fundamentals. He noticed that some of my shots were a little off and he recognized immediately that I was anticipating the shot and pushing the gun forward in anticipation of recoil. He was spot on. He know what my issues was without me consciously knowing it. He even slipped a dummy round into my magazine so he could get a better understanding of some other areas of improvement. My biggest take-away from the lesson, and what the dummy round showed was that I was yanking the trigger and not just smoothly pulling through. Again, he was right. Before my wife and I left that day, we immediately made another appointment with Steve for our second round of training. He gave us some "homework" to do before our next class. Foe me, it was standing an empty casing on the top of my HKVP9, aim and dry fire it while pointing at a specific target. If the casing falls off, I am still yanking. If not, then it was a smooth trigger fire. This will hopefully eliminate my trigger "yanking". For my wife, Steve tasked her with learning more about the basic safety and security measures for safe handling of a firearm and gave her specific instructions on how to practice this while at home. The one major takeaway for me after our course was how unbelievably thorough Steve is. Not only in person while at the range, but his instruction and follow up. He provided my wife and I with a 6 page ACR (After Action Report) along with photos and a breakdown of everything we did while together and what our homework was before we meet again. So unbelievably cool! Steve Triana is a consummate professional and I would very highly recommend his services regardless of your level of experience with a firearm! Cant wait until our next training.

He was not only able to accommodate my last minute schedule but also let me rent guns from him so that I could learn. He took the time to ease my anxiety and to learn more about what I wanted to do in the Air Force (reached out to friends and did some research to know exactly what weapons I will be trained in using). When I arrived at the range he went over clear rules and made sure that we were on the same page when it came to safety being a priority. He went over terminology, gun anatomy, stance, and even taught me a little about the physics of a traveling bullet. He was able to easily tell what I was doing wrong and right and help explain it to me in a helpful and friendly way. Because of his guidance my shooting got better every time! After we finished the lesson he was kind enough to offer his support and guidance through my Air Force on-boarding and training. I highly recommend learning from him!
