My first time shopping for a firearm was a bit intimidating, because for a newbie, "guns" are a bit intimidating, but the staff was great. They have tons of handguns, rifles, and shotguns for all levels (affordable and expensive). They offer expert trainings for anyone who has zero experience with guns, and the price is very affordable. They offer additional training for CCW. The facility was recently renovated. All in all, I hope you give them a try. I always appreciate good decent people who show up in good faith to be helpful, and this has been my experience with UHGC. When you meet people who actually care, what more can you ask for. Be safe, practice caution and common sense when buying and using firearms. Good luck to everyone.

My initial experience with Union Hill Gun Club was positive. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. The owners present themselves as professional, courteous, and personable. However, after becoming a member, my experience changed significantly. I began to notice that many basic activities and services come with additional fees that were not clearly communicated upfront. Charges for routine actions--such as drawing from a holster, even as a state-certified concealed carry permit holder or receiving assistance with equipment purchased on-site (like red dot alignment) created the impression that nearly every interaction carries an extra cost. My primary concern is centered on ROC Training. While the instructors themselves are knowledgeable and capable, the overall structure feels heavily geared toward generating additional revenue. Classes often include upselling, including solicitations from insurance representatives during breaks. Additionally, certain courses such as those related to concealed carry in constitutional carry states do not appear sufficient on their own, requiring participants to enroll in further classes at additional expense to meet application requirements. This lack of clarity and continuity is frustrating and, in my opinion, unnecessary. Ultimately, I chose to cancel my membership due to these concerns. The overall experience reflects a pricing model that prioritizes incremental charges over transparency and member value. Lastly, I would suggest that ROC leadership invest in business and customer relations training. The tone and delivery at times come across as pompous and dismissive, including repeated "we're from New York" rhetoric that many may find off-putting. A more customer-focused, respectful approach would go a long way in improving the overall experience.

He was the only one that returned my call promptly and provided me with all the information that I needed. I knew immediately that I would sign up for the 1:1 sessions. Dwight is so professional, knowledgable and reliable. In my first session, I learned so much about safety and how to properly handle my gun and we shot!! I had never shot a gun before and I felt very comfortable with his instruction and guidance. Fast forward 3 months and I am still taking 1:1 sessions with Dwight. I want to be as comfortable and confident with my gun and Dwight really provides me with that. We do several drills, it changes every week, and I always leave with new information. I took the CCW course with Dwight as well and continued with the 1:1 sessions for self defense training. As a woman, I highly recommend others to take the 1:1 sessions. It can be tailored to the areas you want to grow in. Believe me, YOU WILL FEEL COMFORTABLE with your gun after training with Dwight. This man is the real deal and knows his craft. Also, the range we use is very comfortable and the members are very friendly. During our sessions, they often come and give advice on so many things. Highly recommended. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed and you will learn and grow with Dwight.

AWESOME! What a great experience being tutored by one of the best! (see Phillip-Michael M.'s…read morereview). Yet with all his accomplishments he admits that he's still learning and to me, that is the first and finest quality of a good teacher. A teacher that learns. I know, because I have the same quality with my own profession. It's so rare these days. He is patient beyond belief. I've screwed up so many times with the same darn habit that if I had been my own teacher I would have screamed already. And he doesn't miss a thing. His sharp eyes go from here to there and notices all the little things that might - or rather will - save your life someday. Or maybe just not ruin it. So easy to do with a loaded firearm. And he doesn't just chide. He explains the how and why and when and where. And to me, that's important. It makes me aim straighter at greater distances and that is the ultimate goal - pun intended. I will continue to learn and Dwight will continue to teach. When the student was ready the teacher appeared. And visa versa, of course! I wish I could attach a photo but apparently photography is not allowed on the range. Dr. V
