Booked at class yesterday for a class offered at 7pm Friday night with Anthony and paid for it upfront. When I arrived (early) I was told no classes are ever offered at that time and they declined to give me a refund. The instructor wanted me to reschedule after I drove an hour the first time he stood me up. Now I am disputing the charge with my bank. If a business offers classes and takes payment, they need to provide the services paid for or give back the money ASAP, not try to renegotiate and make excuses and not offer a prompt refund when they back out. read more

Range is nice and inventory is decent. Lane rental is expensive unless you got by yourself (they charge $20 for additional people LOL), and don't EVER buy ammo here. A box of 9mm that is supposed to cost $12 is being sold here for $40. That's literally the same as a car dealership trying to sell a Honda civic for $100,000. Response to owner: He said in a response here that I'm comparing Honda to Mercedes, or McDonalds to a Michellin Star restaurant? That makes no sense because Mercedes and Michellin star food is BETTER than Hondas and McDonalds. The Ammo they sell for $40 is the same exact ammo that's supposed to cost $12. So that analogy is just comical. I understand that this is a range and not just a store, but you already charge for the lane.... So the Cabelas analogy also makes no sense here. Bottom line, charging more than triple the usual price for anything is gouging, plain and simple. Gun tourists and people that are new to guns don't know any better so they pay up and have a good time. I get it. Buy your ammo online, people. read more

I purchased a sight on salesperson's recommendation. After struggling to install it, i went back in a few days later and asked for help. They mounted it and told me to "try it out" in their range. I fired off two shots and the sight FELL OFF. They advised me to come back when the "range officer" would be in. When I brought it in, he informed me that the sight was not compatible with my equipment. Not reading the fine print on the receipt, and with a busy schedule I waited longer than the "14 days" and was told I was to late and there was nothing they could do being that it was "opened" and after the 14 day period. I asked to speak with the owner and the range officer told me they were to busy "running a business" to handle my situation. Nothing against the range officer. I felt like there was no knowledge being I was sold the wrong product or respect after I spent hard earned money in their store and they refused to address the issue, which I believe falls under the "running a business" category. One of the few local ranges in the area but I will try my best to take business elsewhere. Overpriced and poorly run. Responding to your response. In regards to the meeting you were in, I asked when a good time to come back to discuss the issue would be, and I was told never. The only reason you are taking account for this issue is because it's a bad look on business and can be seen. In regards to "getting my money back" that is what I was looking to do after feeling disrespected and not taken seriously. I was sold a product from your employees that didn't fit. If you were sold a product that wasn't compatible and were told, "sorry you're to late" how would you feel? For the record I purchased the product from you that did fit after the fact and I would not have needed the "free install" in the first place if I bought the product that was compatible originally .Please keep consistent energy in person, and over the internet. A Speedy response from someone who couldn't be bothered to come out and handle a business matter. I don't write reviews ever. But if you aren't man enough to step away from a meeting and address the issue, it is what it is. You had no problem telling someone else what to say, seems you could have cleared 5mins to address the issue. I'm certain I'll be able to find a range that takes customers issues more seriously. Visited GSSC many times & never realized I haven't rated it. Overall I really enjoy coming here for target shooting. Most of the staff is very friendly & they all take safety VERY seriously. Prior to being able to shoot first time shooters must watch a 10 minute video about gun safety. For those who do not have their own guns, they have many rentals available, as well as ammo & targets. Gun rentals are pretty reasonable at $20 an hour but you MUST but their ammo which I found pricey. However, if you want to 'test drive' the shooting range, that's the way to go. Safety glasses & hearing protection are mandatory & can also be rented. There is a range officer on duty at all times to oversee shooters as well as help out with any issues. I have had a couple of gun problems & the RO was always available to help. If you get hooked, like I did, you can purchase a gun from GSSC. They also make repairs. One stop shopping for shooting enthusiasts. Target shooting is a lot of fun & I'm really glad to be back into it. I highly recommend giving it a try. read more

My wife and I went to WeShoot last Sunday morning for the first time. We normally shoot at Shooters in Little Egg Harbor but heard of WeShoot and it is closer to our house. I checked in and asked for two ranges paid and was assigned lanes 1and 2 by the range master when we went in. We were shooting for about 15 minutes when two guys came in behind us and said to the range master they were supposed to have range 1 and that they reserve it. The Range master told me to move and to share one range with my wife. After a discussion between the staff another range master came over and said we are ok to stay where we are that they had just mixed our IDs upfront and that they show my wife on range 2 and me on range 1 and that we were ok to stay where we were. Before we could start shooting again the original range master came over TOOK MY GUN OUT OF RANGE 2 AND PUT IT NEXT MY WIFES GUN IN RANGE 1. So my wife went out front to see how many lanes we should have and was told they only charged us for one lane. Also, there were other available ranges where they could have asked us to move to. We were not offered to pay the difference or the option to move to another lane. At this point, I packed up and left because they ruined the shooting experience for the day and I would think a Range master, of all people, should not break the rules by taking an uncased gun out of a shooting range! What a nice place to shoot! Located in an industrial park and tucked away far from a residential area, it's both convenient and not hard to get to. Looking for a place to shoot, some friends recommended Garden State. It's been too long since I've shot my weapons and decided to do it on a Tuesday afternoon. We brought 2 38 specials, a 9mm semi automatic, and my old Weatherby Mark XXII rifle. Registration was simple. You filled out a questionnaire, watched a 10 minute safety movie, paid for an hour, and you are given a lane. Safety rules are strictly enforced which I totally agree with. Safety glasses and hearing protection a must. The previously mentioned safety movie was very useful because it gives you the gun firing protocol that needs to be followed. Ammunition and targets can be brought with you or purchased there. We went at a slow time so it wasn't too noisy. We had a couple of issues. One of our pistols jammed, and our target wouldn't move. The range officer on site quickly helped us out of both of those problems; very friendly and helpful. A gun shop and repairs are offered here as well. What a great way to spend an afternoon. I'm looking forward to coming back again soon. read more

Having read about a change of owners and extensive renovation of the former "Bullethole" range in Lakewood now called "The Garden state shooting center"I decided it would be a perfect opportunity to visit with my nephew on his first foray in the shooting sports. Located in a rather discreet office complex of Lakewood's industrial area,there is little other than its signage that would indicate GSSC was a shooting range. Entering a compact,tidy and well laid out lounge/retail,rental center we were greeted warmly and after a brief instructional video and some perfunctory paper work led into the very clean and new indoor range. The renovation was extensive as everything from the lighting, HVAC,lane tables,target carriers and storage/loading bench are not only top of the line but exceedingly well though out. The soundproofing was exceptional as this has got to be the quietest range I have ever visited. The lone Range Officer was polite but professional in that he asked if we were shooting anything interesting but we knew it was a nice way for him to see if our firearms was safely stowed and unloaded, a much appreciated approach. Range time is $20.00/hour for the first shooter and a additional $10.00 for a second, quite reasonable considering that Shore Shot not a mile away charges $40.00/hour for 2 shooter in the same lane. Rental firearms are available but you will have to buy the range's ammo,new and preowned guns are sold and while that selection is rather small their prices appear reasonable,some popular accessories are offered but limited. I like GSSC because in the hour we were there we met a father training his son with his first firearm,A grandson shooting with his grand mother for the first time and a young mother training both of her kids on firearm safety. We had a great time in a clean,safe,no hassle and friendly environment and will most assuredly be back. read more

Safety First! That's what they stress and it's so important! First time at a gun range and this was an awesome experience! They require you to watch an 8 minute video about gun safety and what you'll experience inside the range while they run a background check with the information from your driver's license. They require you to complete a questionnaire about your mental health, etc. They require you to sign a general release that essentially holds them harmless if anything goes wrong. The process is very complete and efficient. We were provided with 5 paper targets, ear protection and safety glasses (if you aren't wearing your regular glasses) as part of the package. We were introduced to Will, the range officer who was super helpful to us newbies! He too stressed safety! He was patient and helped us load the 2 pistols we selected. Nice facility. Lots of fun! Then I took the USCCA Concealed Carry / Use of Force with Heidi Bergmann-Scoch and Ken Martin. They are EXCELLANT Instructors. This team has years of Police Officer experience, and it shows in their classes. Heidi gave me a small tip about my support hand, and it made an immediate improvement on the firing range. My brother took me to the local shooting range in Industrial Park, Lakewood NJ. What a nicely run facility. They are very strict about their house rules, which are very well warranted. One wouldn't want to have any in-house mishap. Being that this was the first time here, I was asked to see a short video and sign a disclaimer form, of which I did. The center seems to cover all bases. I am now registered for future visits. The useage charge was $10, because I was with my brother who is a member. Otherwise it costs $20. Go online to find out the yearly membership fee. I shot a 38 Special and a 40 Caliber automatic. There is a Range Officer always on duty to see that procedure is followed to a Tee. Dino was very helpful to us. He showed me how to correctly hold my hands since I have had little experience with pistols. My brother was also VERY informative about correct procedure. Shooting can be very frustrating as it was in the beginning of the session. I improved, therefore it ended up being a very nice and enjoyable morning. read more
