I had my sister order 2 medium white pizzas one of which was "Hawaiian style". The crust was thin and crisp and the cheese was pungent but delicious! The pizza sauce was creamy and divine. The Hawaiian pizza surprisingly only had pineapple on it but it was perfection and didn't need the ham whatsoever. The gooey cheese and sauce made up for it. I hope I get to come back to Carcassone and when I do I will most definitely eat in at this restaurant.

Of course, since it's so close to Christmas time, expect all small towns to shut down for a couple of weeks. And, of course, being as ill prepared as I am, I failed to get that particular memo......so, what should have been a charming little town situated in medieval castle walls is actually a creepy silent town with lots of christmas lights and no people. The restaurant isn't too bad - just not the best. They offer a range of prix fixe meals, from about 15 euros to 24euros for 3 courses. After starving for the whole day, i opted for the cassoulet for my main course, and even though it didn't wow me, it sort of got the job done. 1. i was stuffed afterwards, 2. It was hearty and warm - perfect for a cold cold night. Just know what you're getting into when you dine here - the service was pretty good and the lovely french waitress even managed a smile and chatted me up in french. too bad je ne parle pas francais!

Open every night of the week. Didn't care that one of us didn't order due to a special medical diet we brought along. Pleasant host/waitress/cook's wife (?). Even though we were the only ones in the place, all the dishes were fresh and hot, perfectly prepared. All dishes we ordered were winners, and none of my family had ever eaten Pakistani food, nor was this type of food on their menu. But it was Father's Day, my choice. Oh, the price. $$? Really? Although accurate, the meal was something I would have expected to pay much more for. Then you leave and step outside. That's when you realize that their overhead has got to be very low. But walk like you "own the place" and all is good, and you're full. Don't hesitate to order a couple extra naan breads. Don't ask me why. You'll know after the first bite. Clean, quiet, kid friendly, not pushy, relaxing, easy walk from the canal by the train station, English speaking-no problem. Debating on hitting Taj Mahal for an early lunch before we leave tomorrow!
