Ludovico is the charming and handsome baker at this family run establishment that manages to create a cozy pizza bistro with new world décor in an old world charm of a very rustic seventeenth century building. A hallway leads to an interior courtyard to access the restrooms, which were might clean!.
Because the restaurant is in a large inhabited building you almost feel as if you're in someone's kitchen in a very hospitable house. The brick oven, which must be several hundred years old, has been outfitted to produce some of the puffy but charred and crispy crust that southern French pizza is known for - it was superb! There's a pretty decent, if small and fancy, amount of liquor on hand to provide your usual well drinks you'd find stateside, in addition to a few more French liquours and pastis and Ludo's sister does a handy job as a budding mixologist. The wine list is large enough and affordable enough to rival any similar establishment in Toulouse or Marseille - in short, excellent.
If you're in the area, but outside the old walled city, relax in this beautiful little enclave and feast on some very delicious pizzas, salads and desserts. These are recipes designed by Ludo and his mom and they're clearly made with love. read more
