I had the Polo con chorizo, asked to have the chicken shredded, it was very tasty could have used a little more chorizo. The rice and beans were good and the pico was fresh and tasty. 16oz. Modelo was $7.50 which I think is a little high, Pacifico was same. Wife had quesadillas which she liked as well. The fresh margarita was great and reasonably priced. Nice mexican decor. My only complaint is too good. Im sooooo full. The chips and salsa were hitting the spot so ate too much . I got the pablono pepper dinner with cheese .. refried beans and Spanish rice and tiny fresh tortillas. Peppers were similar to chili relleno. Omg!!! So good. Lots of food. Hubby agreed food was fantastic. Got margarita is was also fantastic... liked it was smooth and not acidic .didnt taste the alcohol but believe me it was in there. Went out to eat and wanted nachos specifically. We arrived, were seated quickly and brought chips and salsa, chips were a tad oily. We ordered chorizo queso, the street corn, and nachos to share. All was super delicious and filling. The server wasn't super attentive had to get her attention to get drinks refilled and such. This was locally recommended & because it was right across from the hotel I was staying at, I went happily. Our server never smiled. Not once, even when I tried to engage & be friendly. He seems annoyed that we were there. The food was very oily & heavy and really lacked flavor. I ordered 2 items that had avocado on them and between 2 items, it was barely a 1/4 of an avocado total. That was disappointing. The bowl did come a good portion of protein (steak & chicken), which was nice, but the oily-ness was unappealing The Sopa Azteca was a huge portion size for the price! More like an entree with a ton of shredded chicken. Flavor was ok, but it was chunky in not the right way with the sour cream and soggy tortillas. Wanted to like this place, but just didn't. My wife and I decided to try this place out on a recent Monday evening. Parking is found behind the restaurant and the lot is not all that large. It appeared that the restaurant was full, judging by the lot, but inside there was ample room. We sat at the bar and the server was polite and friendly. We did wait longer here than is typical for a Mexican restaurant but overall, it wasn't a long wait. We both ordered carnitas and agreed that they weren't as good as some other places we've tried, but they weren't bad either. Portion sizes were large. Wow I had a rare epiphany and asked my waiter which margarita to have and what to order and am super glad I followed his advice. I started with a conejorita margarita to go with the complementary chips and salsa. Chips and salsa were very average but the marg was fantastic. I ordered the burrito loco special. We really had a mixed experience here. We came to this restaurant because it was one of the top rated in the area and seemed like a great place to get a quick bite on a Saturday night. It's nice little place with bit indoor and outdoor seating. Given that it was such nice weather, we opted for outdoor. Kind of your standard patio restaurant furniture. The server was nice and helpful (although she spoke so softly it was sometimes hard to hear her), and our food came out quickly. They have a pretty big variety of items on the menu but my wife settled on the burrito and I got three soft tacos. Her meal size was generous, and she liked it so much that we took her leftovers as take away. My tacos were ok. Of the three I got, the pulled chicken was the best, the shrimp was pretty good, and the mahi was so so. And my wife said that he margarita was a little light on alcohol but otherwise ok. The only real negative of the night were the couple at the next table who were so drunk that the woman could not stand up by herself. Much of the time that they were there after we arrived, I was expecting her to throw up and that he would become belligerent (he already was loud and yelling at others in his party). Thankfully they weren't there the whole time that we were, and someone else from their group who appeared sober was driving (we think...). That put a bit of dark cloud on our experience. My husband and I popped in for a quick dinner before my daughters soccer game vs Nordonia. We were greeted by the the most welcoming gentleman and continued to have amazing service throughout our visit . I ordered the bowl with chicken and it was so delicious, the chicken was moist and tender with all the yummy flavors mixed together in a bowl and the serving was enough for me to make 3 meals of it . A diamond in the rough. You have try the grilled steak burrito. The steak was tender and flavorful. Also tried the grilled chicken burrito. The chicken was very good, absolutely difficult to figure out which was better, but I think the steak edged out the chicken. The beans were flavorful and just made the burritos that much better. Also ordered a pitcher of the house margaritas, they were ok, but we then tried the signature margarita and it blew both my wife and I away. Absolutely must order. I also must give 5 stars to the staff, they were very attentive and congenital. Salsa and chips were good, the basic salsa needed a bit of heat and they happily offered their spicy salsa. I'll start out with, my meal, Al Pastor Tacos, was very good. Pretty much everything else was not. From the moment our party of four was seated, the waiter was frantically rushing us- to order drinks, to make up our minds, to order food- it was very uncomfortable. He kept having to rush off to do more urgent tasks. Drinks: our margaritas had no discernible tequila. For my second margarita, I asked for a Tommy's margarita. I explained the ingredients to two different wait-persons. The waiter, who is apparently the bartender, just could not understand- tequila, lime juice, agave. I ended up with some sort of skinny margarita, again, with possibly tequila in it? Not sure. When the waiter took our food order, I had not decided yet. He walked away. A while later, the other three diners' meals were brought out. I still had not ordered! This is one of those places that we should have just left without ordering anything, but we had walked over from our hotel. It's a shame; if the service, and drinks, had been halfway decent, we'd have returned the next evening. I'd never risk dining here again. read more
