Stopped in for a bite and was greeted soon as I walked in. The chips con queso was delicious. We ordered some barbacoa tacos with hand made corn and flour tortillas! Chile rellenos with bran and rice. Agua de melon and limonada! Everything was fresh and delicious! Their menu is extensive and all the food looked great and hard to decide! Dropped in to Tacos La Bala wanting to try a new spot. Order at the window, get your number and pick a table. We ordered the mini tacos with charro beans and two coffees. Chips and salsa were served at the same time as the meal, and salsa wasn't served with a dipping dish. Fajita beef is aight, was not very hot. Charro beans needed salt to liven it up. Not bad but doesn't compare to my usual spots. Everyone else did seem to order caldo, maybe that's a better dish. read more

Cecina. I have googled that for for years in Houston, either not a soul writes about it or it's on no menu other than here. I drove from Houston to Hidalgo Christmas of 2017. My drive back on the side of a mountainside there was a tiny restaurant with a menu of food I had never heard of. Eeny, Meeny, miny, Moe and I landed on Cencina and I've longed for it ever since. It's still not the same but it's good eats, all of it. Cochinita pibil and all the other taco meats you can think of. Nothing special no gimmicks, murals, fancy lighting, nothing, not even service you can rave about. I come here solely for the good tacos. read more

The hubby and I have been wanting to try this restaurant for some time now. We are just constantly in a hurry and forget. Well, we won't be making that mistake again. The smell of all the different foods being cooked when walking in caught our attention and made our mouths water. The girls at the front counter were so friendly and had terrific recommendations. The hubby wanted barbacoa, and he was not disappointed. I got the trip as and barbacoa. Their green salsa is so good, very flavorful, and just the right amount of heat. I am very disappointed, I am from Tampico and the barda cakes are the best there is and I arrive at this place well known for having photographs and everything and from Tampico, and I ask for the barda cake and they give it to me without meat, I ask the waitress and she tells me they don't have them and I like this from wtf, they have a huge picture of the cake there and the picture comes with meat !!! I got excited when I saw they were opening a Bala in our neck of the woods.. that was an over excitement for nothing. The food was over cooked. Hard at times. I wanted to take a pic of all the fat I kept bitting into and putting onto my napkin. It was really nasty having to do that. But as y'all can see in my pic these were the tacos. I also had tacos de tripa. Nasty!! They were so grainy!! Ughhh, just thinking of it. Just an FYI, we were frequent eaters at the original location on the Southwest side of Houston. Visiting from California and this is the nastiest "Mexican" food I've ever had downright dirty and unprofessional never again.

New place. It's very clean. I just ordered 6 tacos to go. They were excellent! I had tripas, barbacoa, and fajitas. 2 of each. Salsa verde was on point! Threw away the red sauce. The only thing I would suggest is that they ask what salsa you prefer. I will be back for sure. Menu says Menudo available everyday! That's a huge plus!! It sure beats the overpriced Taqueria down the street!! read more

They over charge you. Make sure to look at receipt. Manager is also rude when we informed her of the over charge price.

Bad, ordered cheese enchiladas the tortillas filled with queso fresco with eggs on top. They had no flavor at all as well as the side of potatoes I ordered. Had to go buy food somewhere else. read more

Authentic Mexican homemade style food the torta la barda is delicious and filled with like 10 different ingredients I also love the gorditas but they usually take a bit longer to prepare I supposed because they are made fresh in the spot but overall the flavor of the food is really good and authentic read more

Very disappointed especially since I was so used to the original place. I ordered some tacos with corn tortillas and was charged for hand made corn. When I asked why was I charged extra after reviewing my receipt I was told that it's because I asked for hand made. I argued that I didn't want hand made corn tortillas in fact wasn't aware of handmade since they weren't on the menu. But in the end I just took them because I was hungry. When we got our fajita tacos they were dry and oddly tasted like fish. I was really hoping this place was like their other location which I always visit during lunch at work. Never again if I'm going to risk eating odd tasting meat I'll do it with a street vendor read more
