Our favorite taco stand in Central Florida. The Huaraches with Carnitas of Pork are delicious and the tacos and Gorditas are excellent. The Gorditas are close to Arepas in taste and texture. The Salsa Verde has a nice bit of heat and compliments the spiced meats and mild, creamy and crumbly Cotija cheese. We've stopped by five or six times over the years even though it's 150 miles from home. We'll be back. read more

When a food truck stays in one place for years, as have these folks, you know you might be on to something good! Atmosphere- What! Atmosphere for a food truck? Yup. As business increased they added a beautiful covered patio so you could eat protected from that brutal Florida sun. Then they added a building with two immaculate bathrooms. Finish off with a little landscaping and it's not your typical food truck anymore. Location- Wauchula is a tiny spec of dirt on your GPS screen in Central Florida. You'll probably blow buy when you are going somewhere else on Route 17. As they are open all three meals, you'll kick yourself if you don't stop and give them a try. Pro Tip- This place is soft drinks only so stop at any number of places on Route 17, as I did, and grab a cold beer to go. Food- Standard Mexican fare in all it's glory. I went with three Beef Gorditas and they were pockets of warm spicy love and just lightly fried. I added beans and rice. The beans were not mush like you get in some places but chunky and delicious. I was stuffed for $8.50. So I was sitting in the shade, sipping my ice cold Modelo, munching excellent food, and wishing this place were closer to me so I could visit at least once a week. read more

I live in California and there is a vibrant food truck scene, so when I saw the reviews, I'd hoped Isabel's would statuary my craving here in Florida. It didn't. Isabel is very nice. But i found the food to be slightly bland. I did a custom order, because I didn't want meat in my stuff today. Perhaps that was my mistake, but the results were less than satisfying. We've struggled to find tasty authentic Mexican food In our area, and were delight with each of our choices. Five stars for Flavor and Friendly folks that work here. It is a roadside stand with picnic tables under a carport type cover. It is not fancy. It is cool. The food knocked my socks off and the prices are great! The most bang for the buck and flavor I think (of what we had) is the Guarache and the Gorditas. Tacos have great flavor (I got mine with onion and cilantro - the way the Mexican guys were getting theirs). I had Asada (steak) and Alpastor (spicy pork) and same in 2 of my gorditas - also got one with Pollo (chicken). Flavors are wonderful. The 3 Gorditas were 6.50 and so packed with flavor - they would make a great lunch if you are not a pig like me. I came by here 3 days in a row (they were closed then) and was glad today they were open today. They are open Thur, Fri, Sat and Sun. They open for lunch and are open until 8 or 9 in the evening as long as there is business. They gave us a free cup of bean soup and it was great too. I will return to this gem of a Mexican food stand. For those that like it - I saw they have Menudo. I posted some pics and will get more. I love this unpretentious authentic down to earth food stand and people are cool and the food is from heaven. read more

Been here two years ago and couldn't believe we were up in the area.stop in for a late lunch. Great authentic Mexican everything is prepared fresh daily and the tastes from tacos to the tortas are outstanding, a variety of deferent fillings for the tacos along with a helpful and very friendly staff. This is an out door sheltered road stop with no frills, if your looking for a sit down with waiters and frills not your stop . This place is amazing! To drive by it doesn't look like much but believe me it's worth the stop. I had a chicken burrito. It was delicious! Filled with chicken and rice and a side of green salsa. Thanks to the other reviewers on here we stopped at this delicious little spot! So glad we did! The food was fresh authentic homemade food. The sauces definitely help with added flavor because the food is made from fresh ingredients and not salted. My family got tacos, gorditas, quesadillas, and a side of rice and beans. We all left very happy and talking about how delicious and fresh everything was! It was also nice to be able to sit outside. One thing I'll note is that I had the hibiscus agua fresca (flavored water) and it was pretty much pure sugar, like a melted slushy. But I'm still giving the place 5 stars because the food was great and the family working was really sweet. UPDATE: My group got food poisoning from this place. I don't know if the raw meats and veggies were improperly handled next to each other, but we know it was this place because all 4 of us got extremely sick 2 days later. Changed from 5 stars to 2. The food tastes great, but it is critical that those handling it understand the risks. read more

This is one place I will always go out of my way for!! I get the same thing, every time - Chicken Quesadillas. It's not at all like the quesadilla you're probably thinking of. It almost reminds me of a lighter empanada, but larger. Their tortillas are homemade fresh, daily! Family owned, and operated, and they're all so pleasantly kind. This place is a sweet little Taco truck, sweet little family and cozy atmosphere that makes the flour and corn tortillas right when you order, the meat is a bit plain for me but I understand that not everyone likes their food with lots of herbs so it's nice they cook for others to eat as well, now the sauce is kick ass! Lunch is pretty good also just be careful with the chicken tacos because most of the time there are bones in them but I still like them the best. The only downside to me is they will not do any special orders (I asked for the chicken over rice and beans and they said they can only sale the chicken as tacos??) Authentic Mexican food! Tacos, tostadas, gorditas, pretty much everything is delicious. My husband loves their beef tostadas and I'm a fan of their beef or steak tacos. We've had their steak, beef and chicken. Their green salsa is delicious! The red is great too if you're ready for some serious spice. Only wish their rice and beans had a little more to them. They've got good flavor but the beans are more saucy than beans and rice is very fine. read more

I enjoyed the al pastor tacos the most. The gordita was very lightly fried and so good. The carnitas tacos were the most salty, too salty for me. Also tried a side of rice and beans and that was very good as well. This is a cash only place, but the food is very affordable. read more
