It's a good story about a lazy dog in a ski lodge in front of a fireplace and an idea and voila some 20 years later LazyDog has been around. First crack at it for me. Pretty restaurant with good food quality but at its current price points it presents as an upscale facility like its competitor close by Whisky Cake. With a healthy block of restaurants in this area, there's a lot of things you need to do right. Starting at the front door their host the staff was fairly inattentive. We weren't welcomed in or even asked. Had we been at the facility before. Our server was about as indifferent, not asking any of those questions either we saw her three times only. At order, at delivery of food, and at check. Unfortunately, I really can't point out anyone by name because name tags are not utilized here and the server never introduced herself by name. Surprising that the staff is in jeans which I suppose I might get if we're trying to go with the ski lodge theme but it comes across kind of sloppy given you've got a $40 Chilean Seabass on your menu and linen wrapped silverware. Food quality was great. Taste was on point. But beware, you're not gonna get in and out of here for the same price as BJ's or like restaurant concept. Grilled cheese sandwich will set you back $15. Hamburgers are $18 to $20. Table for two and my bill was 50 for lunch before tip. Definite stop for a business lunch.

This is a time capsule in all the best ways. Stepping in, you are instantly reminded of the…read morenostalgic mom and pop burger joints. From the counter where they still take your order by pen and paper (and where you can see the incredibly fresh produce on the prep tables in the kitchen), to the tables and booths, and the red and yellow ketchup and mustard bottles. It was awesome. Know what was more awesome? The food. This was our first time here, grabbing a bite while our car as getting tinted. We got two burger combos, which came with thick crinkle fries and a drink, plus an order of onion rings to share. The burger was great...patty was well-seasoned, and the toppings were crispy fresh. The fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy inside. But the onion rings stole the show. Having worked at burger places before and having made hand battered onion rings firsthand, I can attest these were legit. Batter was perfect, onions cut thick where you can still feel the texture and taste the sweetness. I'll say it now...best in the greater Houston area. We live no where close to this place. But that will not stop us from coming back. New burger spot locked in for us!

Structurally lovely and well cooked but not particularly well seasoned (and this stood out more in relation to how great the chili cheese fries were).

You walk to the front of the house where Angie immediately greets you with all the southern hospitality on the planet. Teams are smashing whole potatoes into fries and the place is BUZZING with activity. Clean including bathrooms. Food was ready faster than you can expect and steaming hot. First bite and you're like likely one of the best cheesesteaks I've had and I'm a fan of them. I did not get spicey but will be back to try it and possibly tomorrow. Toasted Kaiser roll crunched at first bite. Just an awesome sandwhich. So glad I found this hidden Houston gem. Now I have to work out an extra thirty minutes at the gym because this will be a once a week stop. Well done to this team. VERY IMPRESSED.

The hand cut fries and onion rings (thin) were also excellent, crispy, fresh, and the perfect sides to go with the burger. A few others in the group went with the cheesesteak and really enjoyed it, but personally, it wasn't my thing. No complaints though, I know exactly what I'm ordering next time: Double Spicy Burger, hand-cut fries or onion rings. Great food, fair prices, generous portions, and a spot I'll definitely be coming back to.

Cute place with a heartwarming backstory. Nice and busy for brunch on a Saturday morning!…read more I got the scrambled eggs with chorizo and onions and it was DELISH. Also came with a biscuit and jam, which were average - the biscuit tasted like it might have been from a box or mix rather than scratch? But not sure. My friend got the Oliver's breakfast which was a large portion, and she also got a blueberry pancake, which was packed full of blueberries and had a nice crispy edge. She also ordered hot tea and got to choose her tea bag from a lovely box, which was a cute touch. The only thing I might say is that the owner was a bit brusque/gruff. I understand being businesslike and I know customers can be a pain in the food industry, but his attitude was just not very welcoming I suppose. Still a good experience overall though! Glad to see Oliver's is doing well!

If you stop serving customers at 1:30, then that should be reflected in your business hours. We could have saved ourselves the time and gas driving there. What made it even more frustrating was being told that breakfast was already cut off because they had "sold too much" that day. That was honestly confusing considering this restaurant is known for breakfast, operates during brunch hours, and advertises that it is open until 2:00 PM. We also weren't the only customers being turned away. It was extremely disappointing and felt very unprofessional. If customers arrive during your advertised business hours, they should be able to expect service. We arrived with plenty of time to order, eat, and be finished by closing.
