The best vampiro tacos I've ever had. It was packed with so much flavor & love! The staff was super friendly & definitely put their skills into this food. Definitely want to come back here & try it out!
Okay after giving this place another go, I will say the vampiros specifically with pollo are the way to go. My usual order would be al pastor tacos but I hated the tortillas. The vampiros are crispy tortillas which instantly makes it WAY BETTER and the pollo is juicy and flavourful. I'm very glad I gave this place another go because the pollo vampiros are incredible.
That crunch is the whole reason this place blew up. The meats here, although known for pastor, the asada is really good. I love that they add the grilled jalapeños and cooked onions to each plate of food--got a single taco and 2 vampiros and pricing is very food. I'm a bit salt sensitive so the onions were a bit too salty for my liking, but definitely would come back and maybe opt for hard tacos if they'd be willing to do it! Also, pineapple agua Fresca was very refreshing without it being too sweet. Def will be back!
Contacted Tacos El Vampiro with short notice and requested they cater a meal & small birthday celebration for our construction workers. They crushed it and everything was delicious, clean & received fantastically by everyone that had their food, aqua Fresca & horchata. Some of our guys weren't eating any bread and the TEV guys made some great keto tacos for them as well. They were also extremely kind, warm & friendly. I highly recommend these guys and look very forward to having them back again! *Rumor is they may even add kosher meat to their catering options, and I know that will open them up to a ton of more catering opportunities! (hint, hint fellas...)
Chuladas was amazing! This was our second time here, and we were excited to come back. The first time, the Vampiros completely blew us away. But the Chuladas somehow topped them! The fried tortillas were perfectly crispy, and the combination of the crunchiness with the melted cheese was incredible. We tried all of the meats except the chorizo, and every single one was perfectly tender. The staff were also wonderful! They took the time to explain the menu, answer our questions, and made us feel very welcome. The food and the atmosphere were both great, and we can't wait to come back again!
Delicious tacos and more! I love the vampiros and chuladas the most. For me, they are like tacos with a lot of added goodies. The vampiro is a crunchy cheesy taco. The chuladas is like that plus a crunchy tortilla. They delicious because everything is fresh and cooked perfectly to order. My favorite meat is the lengua because it's tender and juicy. I love the salsa bar with fresh salsas, limes, onions, etc. The service is so nice. As soon as I enter, I feel like I'm entering a warm home with multiple people greeting me, even the cooks in the back. The place has seating inside and out. Not too many tables, but I've always gotten a seat when I wanted o one. And the staff is great at keeping the place clean. I enjoy bringing different friends over the years here and they've become repeat customers as well. They just have consistently delicious food!
Came in for the first time on a Tuesday, didn't realize that they had a Taco Tuesday discount on tacos. I went with 2 tacos al pastor, and 4 tacos de asada (for 2 of us, and that was plenty). They were quick to take the order, quick to make the tacos, and quick to bring them out to me. The tacos came with onion and cilantro and a sauce on the side. Even though they asked me which sauce I wanted, there is still a little condiment bar on the side for you to pack your own. I was taking the tacos to go, so I was glad it didn't take long. The place is small, with a few chairs for indoor dining. They also have a small section for outdoor dining. It wasn't busy when I went in, but maybe during their busy times, this would be a really hard spot to find seating, but on a nice day when you just want to enjoy a taco with a cold soda outdoors, this would be nice. It is facing a parking lot so not much for viewing, but for a quick lunch, it'll do. The tacos were filling and delicious. I really enjoyed the al pastor tacos. They included generous pieces of pineapple in the tacos. The asada tacos were also really delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful. The tortillas were also good and soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together. I opted for the red sauce and it was so good. It tasted homemade and it was actually spicy! Not too spicy but it had a bit of a punch. Next time I'm definitely trying the other sauces.
Tried this spot a while back and thought it was okay. I recently saw it made Yelp's Top 100 Taco Spots, landing at #40, so I had to go back and give it another try. The chilaquiles breakfast burrito caught my attention. Yelp listed their opening time as 11 a.m., but I later noticed on their IG page that they actually open at 10 a.m. I called in my order for one chilaquiles breakfast burrito and took it home to share with my sister. Let me tell you it was so good! The chilaquiles were still crispy, and every bite had a perfect mix of asada and chilaquiles. Well-portioned, flavorful, and satisfying. Fast and friendly service too. I'll definitely be back!

When you walk in, it's got a salsa bar on the left, a cash register in the middle, and some fun decor on the right. It's a bit on the narrow side, and seating is a little limited (I think about 4 tables inside). I definitely saw more take-outs than dine-ins while we were there, but we decided to eat inside. By the way, love the mascot/logo as well - gives the place a lot of character...anyway, I digress. On to the food, which was super tasty, and is the standout here! We ordered 8 tacos vampiros, 4 of which were al pastor and 4 of which were asada. The tacos vampiros have a lovely crunch to them, and the fried cheese added another great texture too. The meat was delicious, and I particularly liked the flavor of the asada. The avocado salsa was also excellent. The al pastor was solid, but I think I'd try the lengua or cabeza tacos next time, paired with the asada again. The asada vampiro tacos here are legitimately one of my favorite tacos in Los Angeles. Everything is made to order, so make sure to give em a few minutes to get everything out. All in all, this place is delicious, and we'll be back next time we're in the area. They told me they're planning to open a location in my hood soon (NoHo), and we can't wait for that too!

The vampiros here are definitely the thing to get--the cheese is delicious and the meats are cooked so well with some great flavor. We tried vampiros with al pastor, asada, and cabeza, and they were all so tasty. We also got a burrito that was delicious by all standards, but I would say definitely go with the vampiros since they were truly top tier. There was a line close to the door when I arrived, but the line moved very quickly and the food came out in 5-10 minutes. There are some tables inside and outside the restaurant for you to eat in a casual setting. Many people (including myself) were also getting their order to-go. The spot is located in a strip mall with ample parking. Lastly, the staff were all very kind. Definitely check out Tacos El Vampiro for some of the best vampiros you will ever have!
I follow a food vlogger on IG who featured Tacos El Vampiro, so I decided to drive out and try it. I ordered three tacos Vampiro style (with cheese and tortilla shell) and tried different meats: pollo, asada and el pastor (see my pic). Everything was a bit greasy that meats started to taste all the same or perhaps because they are fried in the same spot on the grill. Came with sautéed onions on the side and they had a salsa bar. Inside and out side seating. Service was direct. There was no waiting/line when I arrived for lunch over the weekend. Located in a strip mall, free parking.
Came in after a baseball game with my son having read all the reviews about the breakfast burritos, and they lived up to all the hype!!! We had the chorizo, bacon and carne asada -- which married so well with the crispy tater tots, pico and the gooey cheese. The tortilla had a perfect grill char and crispiness. The staff were all so friendly and my son said, "best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Can we write a review?" Highly recommend!!!
Nice little spot with both indoor and outdoor seating, and plenty of parking which is always a plus. There are only a few seats inside, but it still feels welcoming. I ordered 4 asada tacos and 3 pastor tacos, and the flavors were amazing. Everything was cooked really well and the meat was flavorful. The service was friendly and fast, and the agua frescas were really refreshing. Definitely will be back!

Absolutely blown away by this spot. From the moment we walked in, the service was top-tier--friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. The food? Next level. Everything came out fresh and packed with flavor. The tacos were loaded with perfectly seasoned meat, topped with fresh onions and cilantro, and paired with some seriously good salsas. The grilled veggies and sides were just as good, and even the beans were on point. You can tell they care about quality in every bite. We also grabbed some drinks and everything complemented the meal perfectly. Portions were solid, prices felt fair, and the overall vibe was just great. Honestly one of the best Mexican food experiences I've had in a while. Definitely coming back and bringing more people with me next time. read more

First time today...the staff was so nice! It took me a minute because I was unfamiliar with the menu, they were patient while I stumbled through. The inside is small, enough for a few small parties-with a cute little patio outside. I wanted something more unique than everyone else's tacos. They serve theirs with pickled onions, which adds a lovely freshness to it. I had an asada vampiro...there is a lovely,almost Smokey flavor to the meat. And no gristle! I also had the chicken chulada...it was unique! The chicken was salsa good, not fatty, which is imperative for me! I also got rice and beans on the side, my husband said the beans were just like his grandmas! I'll be back for sure! read more

I am at a loss of words... This place exceeded my expectations and was absolutely ridiculous (in a good way). It's a small location, busy, and offers seating indoors and outdoors. The staff was insanely friendly and the food was top tier! I ordered 2 vampiros de asada and 2 tacos, 1 asada and 1 al pastor. The al pastor was perfect!!! Lightly sweet with pineapple and the soft corn tortilla to make it stand out. I should have ordered more. The asada was also top tier offering a perfectly balanced charred flavor with a little bit of crunch but still perfectly juicy. The vampiros were definitely the star of the show! The burnt queso ends, the soft but crunchy tostada and the asada and toppings on top were so good you'll want to buy another 10. I also ordered the pepino agua fresca which was refreshing. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you decide to stop by keep in mind they're busy, but it is worth the wait. read more

Stopped by on our way home from Six Flags, and I would make the hour-and-a-half drive just for this restaurant! We got the asada chulada, carne asada and pastor tacos, vampiro fries, and a half carne asada, half pastor burrito. The fries were crispy and addictive--we didn't even remember to take a picture before they were absolutely decimated. The chulada was my boyfriend's favorite, and we regretted not getting more. It had the perfect amount of crunch, just the right amount of cheese, and was even better with some creamy green salsa. The tacos were also delicious, from the juicy, flavorful meat to the best corn tortillas I've had in a long time. The burrito was a little greasy but full of flavor! Wish we brought bigger appetites. 10/10 recommend! read more
Always love to support family owned businesses with great service! Had been eyeing this place for awhile and decided to stop by while I was in the area. Luckily, no line and the food came quickly. I decided to go with their famous vampiros and they were muy delicioso. The pastor and asada were easily my favorites with the guacamole salsa topped off to give it an added oomph of flavor and spice. They also played great music while we waited for our food which is always a plus! read more

We had such a great experience at Taco Vampiro. My family and I accidentally spilled a drink, and it could have easily turned into a big, uncomfortable scene. Instead, the team immediately jumped in, handled everything calmly, and took care of it without making us feel embarrassed at all. Their customer service was honestly next level. And the food... WOW. The Vampiro fries are hands down the best fries I've ever had. Loaded with asada, salsa, nacho cheese, grilled onions, and fresh cilantro -- every bite was insane. Perfectly seasoned, crispy, and packed with flavor. Great food and even better service. We'll absolutely be back. Highly recommend. read more

Love finding places like this!! Don't dare overlook this family owned GEM! They're all about quality in their food and in their service. Food was so incredibly good and nothing was greasy. You can tell they take pride in their product. Must try the vampiro tacos with any type of meat! We had horchata (which just right on the sweetness) and then mixed pineapple and cucumber which was great. The bill for 4 of us with two large drinks was about $40 which is awesome nowadays. I also loved how clean they kept everything, the music and the patio outside. This is % a must if your in the area! read more

So yummy! I love living in Sylmar when Tacos El Vampiro is down the street. They never disappoint. Tacos el vampiro Al pastor is always on point. They give grilled onions on the side which are fantastic and their green salsa is a must! read more

I had recently moved back from being away for so long and discovered Tacos El Vampiro. I didn't know what to expect because someone else's tastes could be different from my own. Well... that being said- they were right! This place totally rocks your taco socks off!! We've tried the tacos and quesadillas and have kept coming back more. If anyone is in the neighbourhood and looking for a great place to feel cozy in an "Abuelita'" dining room, definitely give them a try. The staff were attentive and friendly! Try 1 taco or try them all! You cannot go wrong with anything. If you ask my opinion, I would recommend... EVERYTHING! read more

Food is delicious!! Freshly made. The Piña agua was a bit watered down but still delicious!!! The staff is very friendly. The place is packed during lunch. They have tables for you to sit and eat. Very clean place. 75 cent charge for using cards. read more

This is a must visit in Sylmar! Super friendly service and plenty of parking. The vampiros are delicious! I ordered 2 al pastor vampiros with pineapple and they were so good!! They also offer grilled onions and peppers on the side which were seasoned to perfection! They have a variety of salsas to top things off. I'll definitely be coming back for more! read more

Tacos el vampiro failedddd us!!specially after seeing all these Positive reviews ‼ Let's start with the positives, workers were very friendly and they Were impressively fast, since they were busy and food only took 10-15 minutes to be ready!! Their carne asada is pretty good, y no son codos , stack your order with carne asada!! We ordered vampiro fries, burrito de asada, 2 tacos de pastor y 2 tacos de lengua!! Pastor needs some work, very un flavorful , looked like carne asada. Tacos de lengua were too "babosos" also didn't pack much flavor. Only meat I would recommended getting is their carne asada, everything else was MIDD!! And I get the prices being pricey but I expect the prices matching the food if it's going to be expensive !! Small place but roomy! Probably won't be returning read more

Hello, I gave this business 4 stars mostly because I have only been there twice but the two times that I have been there the food has been amazing. Mexican food such as tacos can be amazingly delicious even though they are somewhat basic, but the seasoning makes a difference and the salsa can make a difference, and these people have it down packed, they know what they are doing. The carne asada is tasty and not fatty; their carne al pastor very delicious with the pineapple; furthermore, their horchata was delicious and not overly sweet. Overall I think is a great place to eat. The people are very easy to talk to and friendly , the service is good. It is a small place with an outdoor sitting area and a chill and relaxing atmosphere, I truly enjoyed their food. I would probably give them a five star review when I continue to go there, I hope they consistent. read more
We visited this clean, friendly, cheerful little restaurant for lunch on a trip to Sylmar to run an errand. We each had two of the Vampiros, one each of the Asada and Al Pastor, on small tostados, loaded with flavorful meat and toppings. A pinto bean tostado was served with them, along with grilled onions and a grilled jalapeno. There is a fresh salsa bar with green and red salsas, a guacamole salsa, radishes, limes and more. Everything was very fresh and delicious, for $8 total each. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back when we are in Sylmar again. read more
