The tortillas held up well for takeout and the meats were tender and nicely seasoned. You can't beat these tacos on a Tuesday for $1.49 a piece. It was okay, but I may also just have really high expectations coming from the Mission District in SF. I ordered 9 tacos total at $3.40 each and tried the asada, al pastor, chorizo, and tripa. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with the flavor of all the meats. None of them really stood out or had much seasoning. It felt like the meat was just cooked until cooked and that was about it. The tortillas were also a little dry and had an almost sandpaper-like texture, which didn't help. The saving grace was the toppings and sauces. They offer onions and jalapeños to add to your tacos, and their sauces were actually delicious. Those added a lot of the flavor that I felt was missing from the tacos themselves. Overall, not terrible, but based on how highly it was recommended to me, I was expecting a lot more :p

The cook makes the food, hands you the food, you add all the toppings you wish (without judgment), and can go back inside the restaurant (unless you grab the wrong door and end up at the barber) to sit at a table or wherever you wish to eat. I got to select however many meats with no toppings and was pain free for the rest of the day (conclusion for me: no additives triggered a wobbly digestion in response). Everything looked and smelled fresh. Ambiance: bit bare inside, definitely not cozy. But if you are there to get food and eat it, it should be good enough.
