The food was ready to go within minutes. Super friendly man working the truck. The three tacos I got were Carne Asada, Al Pastor (marinated pork), and Pollo (chicken). The chicken was tender, the steak was delicious, but the best was the marinated pork. That stuff was amazing. Throw some of their delicious red sauce (spicy) on that and you've got yourself your next comfort meal. The green sauce was great too, but the red sauce went perfectly with the marinated pork. Overall, pricing wasn't too bad for what you get. I'd say it's typical food truck pricing. Great meal. read more

So excited that I found this little taco stand in my neighborhood! The tacos are definitely among the top three best street tacos I've had in Utah. I had walked to her truck and left to carry my plate back to the convention center where I'm based today. She saw me, and, even though she was cooking 3 or 4 orders at the time, she called me back so she could help me wrap my burrito better and to give me a sack so I could carry it more conveniently. When I saw all the 5 star reviews I was excited but skeptical. LOL But... Wowza! My quesadilla was fantastic! Perfect amount of cheese, and perfectly grilled. My husband ordered 2 Carne Asada tacos and then went back and ordered another. He said the meat was perfectly seasoned and the best he's had in a very long time. Here in Utah we are blessed with many, many taco stands. I already have a few favorites, but La Fogata was not one as I am rarely driving South on this stretch of State Street, so never spotted it. That is a real shame as it is super close to my house, but more importantly, darn delicious! They are located on the North side of Napa Auto Part's parking lot - and no worries, there is plenty of space for patrons of both businesses. I stopped by on a Saturday right around dinnertime, and they were hoppin'! The woman working was so kind and patient and FAST, and as I was pondering my options, she offered a sample of any meat I might be wondering about. I declined as I'd decided on a taco of EVERY variety available...Clearly living my best life. I also ordered a torta with asada for my husband. The wait was five minutes, if that, and she gave me the sandwich first. I carried it over to the large cooler, added a little of most everything (options include roasted onions and jalepenos, pickled jalepenos, sour cream, shredded cheese, radish, limes, cilantro, pico de gallo cabbage, and three salsas), then returned it to her, and she added lettuce, tomato, and a generous avocado quarter. She wrapped it up in foil, and after I added all my chosen accoutrements to the tacos, she did the same with that plate. She even bagged it all up and threw in some napkins - a small, but thoughtful attention I don't usually receive when taking orders to go at other stands. A nice man was there helping out, and he took my credit card payment. My two plates were still warm when I arrived home, and we dug right in. Every meat was delicious (they had buche on the menu, but I only got five tacos, so I don't think my order included that one). My favorites were al pastor (subtly sweet), barbacoa and carnitas (both so richly flavored, moist and tender)! They are served on the classic tiny corn tortillas, but the amount of meat was very generous, really overflowing. You could split it between the two shells each taco included, but I just tossed the exterior ones. Everything was pretty greasy by the end, but this is just part of the experience, and it did not bother me. My only regret is not drizzling quadruple the amount of the beautiful, fresh and creamy avocado salsa over everything! I also tried the orange (maybe habanero?) one, and it was tasty, but very hot. The other variety, a vibrant red salsa loaded with chile seeds, looked too scary, but if you are brave give it a try! Just don't say I didn't warn you, 'cause I can tell it is devilish based on appearance alone. Prices are fantastic at $1.50 per taco, $6 for a torta or quesadilla, and $7 for burrito, so you're looking at a filling meal for no more than $10. They are open until 7pm daily, except if there is a Real game, then they stick around until about 10. They either start at 10 or 10:30am - I can't remember what I was told. I really want to try the quesadilla, so I'll be back soon! read more
