It was a Groupon meal, so I should have expected the quality I got. Practically everything I ate had a taste and look of being old and reheated for my purchase. The beans in the dishes were so old they had a dry and crumbling texture to them similar to Play-Doh that wasn't stored properly. Extremely hard tortilla chips in the nachos. A chicken burrito that was just a bean and rice bomb, with only a few pieces of burnt and overcooked old chicken. This is one of the few times I threw out a large portion of my food. The most redeemable aspect of my combo meal was the horchata that I chose. But I dont know where it came from in terms of it being house made. The typical big jugs of horchata and other aguas frescas was not set up and there wasn't a aguas frescas fountain machine. This was some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I definitely won't return to this establishment and would never recommend it to others.
We came here, because we had a Groupon. Really good deal. 2 Birria Tacos, 1 burrito & nachos. The food was amazing. First time trying Birria tacos, actually. Yum. It was actually enough for both my husband & I. Great service by Armando. (I believe he's the owner.) He even let me use my Yelp dessert offer even though I also used the Groupon. I definitely recommend this place.
Ordered from "Toasty's Breakfast Burritos" on Uber Eats. Got the breakfast burrito and THE BACON WAS NOT COOKED, the sausage was burnt, the cheese smelled off and it was filled with so many hashbrowns. I took one bite before opening it up to see this picture attached. I feel sick, and the fact I had to search up the address to find a whole different spot is absurd. Do not order from here!
This is the spot that ended my use of Groupon. The food was just gross and we threw most of it away. We thought we'd just bought a coupon to use for money off our order but we were forced to get specific items, none of which we liked. the wings were so tiny and overcooked, they were revolting. The emplyee we dealt with was friendly and tried to be helpful but it's hard to be helpful when the food is this bad. I gave a second star for him but the food is just terrible and not worth it at even a quarter of the price
Found an incredible Groupon offer so had to try it. Got the family fiesta meal - opted for the carne asada tostada salad (3.5/5), dry shrimp burrito (4/5) and the bacon chicken alambre (3.5/5 according to the husband) with corn tortillas. Like Kim's Bento located on the opposite side of the building, a quantity v. quality place. Not bad, not great.. wait, the service was great. Easy ordering in person and the food was ready sooner than promised. Next to a car wash on Charleston just east of Rainbow - plenty of parking.
The entire plate came out piping hot which is the best way to eat something. It was such a great plate for around $15 and it was a lot, my niece couldn't finish it. As she was eating the beef there was a long string that we pulled out. It was very thick and judging by the texture it could not be a human hair. My partner went up to the counter and the cook confirmed that the meat was wrapped in a leaf to prepare it. He also some time during our meal came out to show us the left over leaves. We already believed him but it was excellent customer service and satisfaction for him to provide that proof. I appreciate attention to detail so much and I respect and admire a business that is honest with their patrons.
I've driven by this building with a few places to eat before but didn't really have a clue as to what it actually was......UNTIL TODAY! It was around 6:00PM when my fiancee and I pulled into this big white building with what looks to be a few different small restaurants inside of it. I was completely unaware that most of the places in here closed at 6PM, which left me with two options, one of which was Tacos El Jefe's! Let me just get this out of the way, I'm about to throw some praise out. This place doesn't have an insanely large menu, but it has some heavy hitters like special versions of tacos, tortas, burritos, and even Ramen birria soup. I needed to give the Toasted Quesa-Birria Burrito a try and I don't know if I can say enough good things about this thing. The burrito itself is large, heavy, and packed with beef, cheese, rice, and beans and was served with both a birria consome and a mild hot sauce to dip them in. Did I eat this thing when it was way too hot? yes. Do I regret it? no, although the roof of my mouth might tomorrow. This burrito was phenomenal and Tacos El Jefe's is my new go-to for any sort of burrito I am craving. On top of the burrito, when I checked in on Yelp an offer popped up for a free churro and they supplied two of them! This was the absolute best churro I have ever had in my entire life and it's not even close. The churro was crispy and hot on the hot side while managing to remain mushy and delicious on the inside, it's something that my dreams will be thinking about until the next time I come back. Overall, Tacos El Jefe's is something special that I truly think everyone in Las Vegas needs to come and try. The gentleman working the counter was super nice and the entire experience was top notch. I will absolutely be coming back to this place in the future!
I had the Quesabirria tacos and they were excellent . Filled with meat. No skimpy tacos here. The service was friendly. Tables are limited as it is a shared space with the other food vendors inside this marketplace. The menu is a little overwhelming and probably could be simplified - I just gave up and asked the young man taking orders what do they have with Quesabirria. He suggested the 3 Quesabirria taco option . To be honest. I feel like going back today for more . I would check hours and days before you go because I know the various food vendors here all have different hours and days that they are open .
This restaurant is located in a small food court adjacent to a car wash, supposedly serving a school campus. I saw nobody with books, so let's just call it the College of Southern Nevada-Car Wash Campus(CSN-CWP). With a Groupon, I got a massive amount of food for around $20 at Tacos El Jefe's. The combo plate was a perfect mixture of different items, including two tacos birria, a mound of nachos with protein of your choice, and a thick burrito, along with some birria consomé soup, lots of chips and homemade salsa. Of the three proteins I tried that day, beef birria was the star of the show. It's a high quality meat smoked and slow cooked for hours, steeped in spices, juicy and tender. With cheese, cilantro, and salsa on a grilled tortilla, it is outstanding. Shredded chicken is also worthy and their salsa is made from scratch with fresh ingredients, not from a can. If you're undecided and don't need to feed an army with the Groupon deal, my advice is to get the 3 tacos birria plate which comes with salsa and a cup of consomé soup. That is one filling meal at $12 and delicious too. I seldom get birria at restaurants because I assume it comes from some old goat that's on a tin can and paper cup diet. But Tacos El Jefe's uses a good cut of beef instead and prepares it slowly for a real tender and tasty result. This place succeeds on three important results of eating out...delicious meal, generous portions, and food preparation safety. Simply put, when food is stored and cooked properly, you the diner, do not feel sick afterwards. I felt great after eating here! So if you're at college learning to become a car-washer, just remember: you might not ever get rich, but eating lunch at Tacos El Jefe's is better than digging a ditch.
The food looks good but taste terrible. I called up there to share my concerns about the food tasting spoiled and the owner said he never gets complaints about his food. Unfortunately, my family and I took one bite and realized we would never return here again. I even tried tearing up the burrito to see if the meat would taste better. I feel bad throwing away all this food but after one bite the taste of sourness won't go away. It's a shame and waste of money.

Ordered through Door Dash. I was craving mexican and was too lazy to get dressed and go out. I took a chance on Taco El Jefe's and im pleased i did. I ordered the 3 street taco plate, it came with Beans and rice. The portions were very generous & tasty! The taco's were so full of meat they kept falling out the sides! Not only was the portions generous - it was delicious!! They also gave me 3 different salsa and they were all good! I really am happy i found them and ill definitely be ordering again! read more
I've heard someone mention this place before , but today was my first time trying it. I stopped at the car wash next door and wanted some Mexican food , so it was perfect timing. It is located in a building that is a food court with several small restaurants and some tables in the middle. I had never been inside till today , but always meant to come in and check it out. They have Thai food , Hamburger place , Hawaiian food , Chinese food , and this place. Tacos El Jefe's also sells chicken wings and fingers, there were 2 todays specials on the counter. You can choose from several meats to use for your meal. I chose shredded chicken for my chimichanga. I got my food to go. Since it was my first time I got all 3 sauces to try. I was really surprise by the green sauce , most places have it , but it is not good. I highly recommend you trying the green sauce. I liked the hot sauce too , but not so much for the mild which I usually don't use at most places anyway. My chicken chimichanga was large and tasted good. I was surprised though when I opened the to go container and there was no beans and rice. Where I normally go they are included. Well , inside my chimichanga was some rice and beans , but not a lot. I would have rather had them on the plate instead of inside it. I will probably come back sometime to try the grill chicken tacos and maybe some chicken wings. I would recommend trying this place. Also the dining area was very clean and the gentleman from the Hawaiian restaurant came out and cleaned all the tables while I was waiting for my food. read more

Todays special $9.99 taco plate ! 3 carne aside tacos, beans , rice and agua Fresca. Tacos were 10/10 delicious. Rice All the flavor, beans were great and the agua Fresca ?! I got the cucumber, lime and chia seed , So refreshing, no powders were used. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I have heard of this place but had not made my way over there yet until today. I had a Groupon for a Jefes combo meal (2 Birriria Tacos w consume, super nachos/chicken, a burrito/shredded chicken & a 2 liter of soda (mtn dew dr pepper etc.) Great deal & usually ai am a bit skeptical re: Groupons bc sometimes its places that have bad reviews and ate not good. This little hidden gem of a Mexican joint is inside a small (@5 diff food places) mini indoor mall. Plenty of self parking and right next to a car wash (which I hit up for $4 basic wash right after-great combo!) They have a few tables spread apart due to covid restrictions so we sat down and waited for our meal. It came out in @ 10 min. My tacos were HOT! I have not gotten hot food in so long I had to wait a few minutes yo eat it. So I started snacking on the super nachos. Good chicken flavor w tons of meat cheese guac sour cream and pico. Everything was very hot, fresh tasting and delish. I have prob been to about 5 diff places all over Las Vegas looking for the best Birriria tacos & this one is my new fave. They are larger in size I then all the other ones- I couldn't finish two! Its a little nook n cranny spot, out of my usual hang outs but I will be back! I met the nicest people who worked there too & promised I would be back for more tacos! Tell Armando & Dora that Emily sent you...Maybe you will get some extra napkins I dont know lol-but just go check out this little mom n pop spot & support this bomb small local Vegas business. If u see me there again, which u will-come say hi lol. Big portions and good prices is the key. People were staring at our food and then ordering that instead of the other places. Good choice lol. I wish I could make those tacos at home but until then, this is def my new go to Birriria joint in Vegas! Tacos are Life :) read more

I ordered the asada fries but with steak alambre for delivery. I don't who made this but it was delicious. I highly recommend trying this out. Also, it was so much food that I will have leftovers for at least 2 days. Perfect for sharing. The flavor is there. The 3 salsas it comes with all are great. And they gave me some roasted jalapeños too. read more

I ordered the beef cheesy birria tacos. Everything was delicious. The tacos were more than enough filled with shredded beef. They were thick and they did not skimp out. The birria consome and the roasted consome was flavorful. I ordered a cheesecake on the side and that was delicious too. Dinner was memorable and delicious since it was my first time trying birria. I would order more food from here. read more

While running errands, had a taste for some Mexican food. Found this spot on yelp and gave it a shot. So when looking for this place, you must be aware it's INSIDE a building with other restaurants. Their menu has a variety of options and the servings are great for the price. If it was closer to me, I would go more often. I don't recommend going at night because the area isn't the best. Other than that great service and food. read more

In the mood for Mexican food! Ordered from here for the first time today. Our order consisted of the Chicken Crispy Flautas, that also included a salad ($5.99), a Mulita Chorizo and Pastor ($2.49 each), Camaron Burrito ($7.99), a Quesadilla Carne Asada ($7.99) and a side of refried beans ($1.99). All with the toppings on the side. The Mulita's were my favorite, they were toasty, full of meat and tasted really good. The Quesadilla was also very tasty and had a lot of meat. The only real issues I had were with the shrimp burrito and and flautas. I called the restaurant after I put my order in because I wanted extra jalapeno-lime aioli for my shrimp burrito. There was not an option on the third party site so I call to double check if it was an option. The guy who answered the phone was super nice and had no problem doing it for me! We got our food, which was super early too which is always a plus! Unfortunately, NO jalapeno-lime aioli was included in my order, maybe he misheard me? Super disappointed. And I understand that when you order shrimp they don't give you a lot.. but my gawd, it was basically ALL RICE. Plus, they still put sour cream (that was supposed to be on the side) on the flautas and it had solidified by the time we got them, so it was unpleasant. The flautas themselves were very, very dry, and also cut into thirds. EVERY bite had was half meat and half empty shell. And the salad the came with the flautas were also entirely void of any dressing, it wasn't edible. read more

One of my families favorite nights out is ordering El Jefe's from Post Mates and watching movies at home. The burritos are like the ones you get when visiting California. Some of their sauces are spicy but the gravy is not just flavorful. I love their Guacamole it is so fresh. Tonight because I picked up to go I tried their cucumber chia water let me say flavorful. Not sugar sweet. I love fresh cucumber water but this was so frrsh it hit the spot in this weather. My husband tried the Cantalope water it was so good. read more
