Stopped by Tacos El Culichi's truck to try their vampiro tacos after a friend swore they were the best. After trying them, I can't say they're the best vampiro tacos I've tasted but can say they come close. The tacos are hard shelled open faced with melted cheese then topped with your choice of meat, onions and cilantro. Very similar to mini tostadas. Each meat chosen (asada, al pastor and chorizo) was flavorful with the al pastor being the best. The al pastor was both crispy and juicy. Like all other vampiro tacos out there, there's lots of cheese so cheese fans rejoice. Unless someone has tipped you prior on which truck to grab tacos from on Atlantic blvd between Alondra and Compton blvd, It'll be pretty hard making a decision on which to grab tacos from since there's taco trucks lined up one after the other parked side by side. Talk about keeping your competition close! Can't speak for the others (not yet at least) but if you're looking for good vampiro tacos then make Tacos El Culichi your pick. Little gem on the strip! I love the asada from here, they chop it up really fine and it tastes bomb, especially on the tacos culichi style. They have some really good green salsa and others like red and avocado sauce. They also add some grilled onions with grilled jalapeño on the side, if you ask for it. Came here with friends and family. I had the "Vampiros" tacos which is basically a hard shell tortilla with your choice of meat, mixed in with cheese, cilantro, and onion. Also had the "cabeza" (head) tacos and "al pastor" tacos. Over all the taste was delicious. Salsa choices are , red, green, and other combinations. Not a super great location if you want comfort , as it's a taco truck with a few tables in the street. How ever, if you are in the mood for some great tasting tacos and don't mind a little wind in you face, come here. read more

This was the worst way to end the night. They literally took OVER an hour to get our order out. OVER AN HOUR! How is that acceptable? There were 4 people ahead of us. It's not like it was busy. It made no sense at all. We got tired and asked for a refund and were told oh the food is coming and still nothing. The food was garbage too. Almost looked like the meat was steamed. How do you possibly get carne asada to look unappetizing? I don't see how others have had positive experiences at this dump. Ok well I ordered: 2 vampiros and 1 taco de tripa. Overall if you are in a rush or want your food fast because you are starving and are about to pass out then this won't be the place to get your god very quickly. I waited approximately 30 min maybe longer for my food. They didn't have asada so had to settle for the other meats. The guacamole salsa was good the green salsa was gold and the habanero salsa was good also. Al pastor meat had a good taste just looked and somewhat tasted like if it was the remains from the bottom of the pan kinda oily. Just bought 4 tacos and a burrito and the meat was tasteless and over burnt. Like if they reheated the meat. The rice/beans tasted a bit old and I waited for my order for 20+mins and there was no line. Plus they were really pricey and small. Really disappointed because this was my first time trying them. All because I didn't want to wait in line for tacos el Guero. Not trying to be mean but the taco truck in front of them has better tacos. read more

Tacos are trash extremely small, pricey and when you ask for anything but asada they ran out of whatever else you want. Only reason people eat here from what I can tell is because famous people have stopped by to make this place a "thing" to do after a house party. One time I stopped by with some friends late at night after a party and Lupillo Rivera was here. People found out about it and in less then 20 minutes it was flooded with drunken jerkwads trying to impress some dude who could care less about their loud exhaust Silverado. Tacos El Culichi was by far the WORST decision of my night. It was my go to spot for tacos, but will no longer be. My boyfriend and I were indecisive between this taco spot or another place that we also love and is an actual restaurant, but I was craving a vampiro de al pastor from here so we gave it a go. First red flag: We waited about 30-40 minutes for our food and we ordered 1 quesadilla, 2 vampiros and 4 tacos de al pastor. I thought it's ok, the food will make up for the long wait and boy was I wrong... the meat was literally a gray color, GRAY!!!! If you have eaten al pastor meat, you know it's nothing close to gray; it's a red/orange color with a great smell. It was the most bland, flavorless meat that I have ever tried. To be honest it didn't even taste like meat. After one bite, I took the food back to the taco truck and you won't believe what the cook said after I told him what kind of meat he served me and he said it's al pastor, but that he ran out of adobo sauce for the meat!!! Like what??? Did you shamelessly admit that you served plain meat that's NOT al pastor??? If they ran out of the seasoning for the meat, then the cashier should've let us know and we would've ordered another kind. I honestly feel so bad for everyone buying food from there tonight. Also, they didn't even offer a refund! NEVER coming back!!! So sad that this place was one of my favorite taco trucks, now I will be going to Tacos El Paisita on the next block. read more

Awesome place for late night tacos after the club. There is quiet a few tacos places on this street but by far this is the best one. I had the chorriada (which is a hard grill tortilla with acientos, cheese and your choice of meat) which you'll never fail with it. I come here at least 3 times a month, sometimes more. The tacos are good. Their salsa de habanero is great! But the only thing that sucks is that every now and then they forget one of our orders. Most of the time we don't check til we are home and we realize they forgot to put in an order of tacos. Which is really annoying. It's happened quite a few times.
