Thats a NO for me, sorry. Im used to the location on 59, by Beechnut. I didnt know about this location and got excited when I drove by it. Ambiance, cleanliness and variety of mexican sodas is what they got my 2 stars for. Firstly, the salsas are not even the same and as a Mexican, a good salsa makes or breaks a taco. So that was disappointment #1. Secondly, I ordered 1 tripa dorada and 1 trompo; the guy messed up my order and added 1 lengua. When they brought it, they took my whole plate to remove the extra taco and by the time I got my plate back, my other 2 tacos were cold. NO THANKS. Disappointment #2. Thirdly, when my other 2 tacos came back, the tripa was soggy and cold, so they brought the manager and wanted to take my plate AGAIN to change the tripa taco, so I told him NO because im hungry and my trompo is going to be cold now, so he grabbed a napkin (instead of bringing a plate), put his hand on my plate and took the tripa taco. I was SOOO upset and dissatisfied that I told him to just change the soggy tripa for fajita. Disappointment #3 Now that I ate my trompo taco, let me say the meat.... Cold , obviously, Not much flavor at all, nicely grilled yes, but the flavor was not there... to that we add the flavorless salsas and cold double tortilla. Yea, no. To the tripa taco that was changed for a fajita, i could say it was good. Not GOOD, not Good, but "alright". Again, flavorless salsas didnt help the poor taco either. They're one of the few places in the city offering this style, and every Tuesday the trompo tacos are only $1 each, which is an incredible deal. I went on a Tuesday evening and ordered the trompo tacos (pork). They come topped with onions, cilantro, lime, and two salsas (red and green). I also added extra pineapple. One thing that confused me is that their trompo is pork, but it's not exactly the same as traditional al pastor. I always thought trompo al pastor was the style of meat, but here it seems their seasoning and preparation make it different. [TACOS] +Trompo Tacos for $1 each (Tuesday Special) - These are small street-style tacos served with onions, cilantro, lime, and both red and green salsas. The meat was flavorful, but mine tasted a bit hardened and chewy, which made me wonder if it wasn't cut fresh off the trompo. The extra pineapple didn't add as much sweetness as I hoped either. Noticed this second Tacos El Bigotes location opened back in late 2023 (How did I not know that until now!?) and glad that it's near my office. Having been to the original location in Sugarland, I expected the same tasty eats and efficient service here. Fortunately they do not disappoint. They are quick with your orders and they bring them out within a matter of minutes. With it being open kitchen, you can see the staff concocting your eats with precision, determination, and focus. All the tacos are yummy with the lengua, tripa, and barbacoa having the best flavors IMO. Their quesadillas has a wonderful savory cheese pull too. And of course, can't forget those salsas. Tuesdays have $1 trompo taco specials. Hard to beat that. Not to mention they are mixed with pineapple for some sweetness to it. I ordered the gordita with al pastor and two tacos with trompo and pollo guisado. The gordita was stuffed with meat and cheese and the masa was super fresh. Topped with the salsa verde, it was exactly what I would want from a Gordita. (7/10) The tacos were also great with both the trompo meat and the pollo guisado being moist and flavorful. They were comparable to taco trucks I've tried and had very authentic flavors. Last time I had them they were on the dry side so I was a little afraid. This day I took my partner here so we could try them because I always see that it's packed at night. She ordered 1 barbacoa taco, 1 pastor, and a pollo guisado. I ordered 3 pastor and a lengua torta. So this day the pastor was delicious and so juicy compared to before when it was dry. So that is such a plus. The torta was a little lacking in terms of meat ratio. Every bite had bread and beans lettuce and other things but I was search for the lengua it was unfortunately not in every bite. The bread they had was good though, it was soft light and airy and it was fresh. My partners tacos were on the dryer side so she had to go order more pastor, and she also got a drink they forgot to give but they did give it just had to mention. The food is good, and it is definitely not Tex Mex.
