Although I haven't personally tried Taco's E Mas....I now plan to the next time I visit Michigan. My Yelp account had been hacked and someone not only placed an order through Yelp which went through GrubHub but had also attempted to open several accounts with my information. GrubHub was extremely unhelpful in resolving the issue so I contacted the restaurant immediately after speaking with GrubHub. The restaurant ensured that the order would not go out and they kept their promise. HUGE THANK YOU to the team at Taco's E Mas for stopping the fraudulent activity from happening. I stopped coming here five years ago because they could not get an order correct. It's their menu so they should be familiar with it. Well I got a hankering for some Tacos E Mas so I ordered pick up. $43 for a taco dinner, a burrito dinner and chips and salsa. Sure enough I get home and I'm missing the beans and rice from one of the dinners. Tacos were not as good as I remembered. Burritos and salsa were good. Same old thing with screwing up the order. Excellent banana pudding and slightly above average enchiladas! I'm all about a casual, laid-back vibe, but this Mexican place took it to a whole new level... and not exactly in a good way. The food was decent, but the service was a bit of a mixed bag - our server was friendly enough, but seemed pretty overwhelmed. The real kicker, though, was being expected to bus our own tables (um, isn't that what tips are for?) and, at one point, being told to pick up our own food from the kitchen counter. Grabbed a three taco dinner with two chicken tacos and one ground beef taco and it hit the spot. I liked their crunchy taco shells and they served American style - loaded with lettuce, tomato, and cheese. I also enjoyed the chicken a little more than the beef. The rice wasn't dry and had good flavor and the beans were a medium to thick consistency, which I liked. Their mild salsa has a tomato sauce base flavor which I didn't care for. The hot salsa had good flavor, but wasn't all that hot. Although the customer service was pretty awesome, the food didn't exactly scream come back soon. As I walked in I was greeted with a pretty empty room. There's a couple of tables. But the claw machine always draws my attention. :) The chips I received with my order were very stale and the enchilada tasted amazing, but the hair was not a part of my special request. Worth checking out. But i don't think it deserves praise unfortunately. read more

A long time patron of this place, and I have yet to been disappointed by the food or the workers. The strain that covid has put on small business is horrible, but I'm happy to see that this gem has stayed strong and in business! Ordered this on Uber eats and paid $16 for the food pictured, not including delivery fees. I'm not sure if the menu on Uber's site is incorrect but it said chips were included with the meals and none were provided. There were no utensils or napkins included (utensil in photo was my own). So this is our second time ordering from them. The first time I got a taco bowl and my hubby got the burritos. Both were hot and delicious. Well, this time He got the taco bowl and I got tue worlds largest taco to split with my son. Needless to say, we did not get our chips and salsa that came with the bowl. Everything was cold. This is the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I ordered the wet burrito combo. It was a sloppy, soggy, flavorless mess. The meat had no flavor to it and taste like it came out of a can. It was so bad that I couldn't even finish eating all of it, which is extremely rare for me because I HATE wasting food! The use fucking nacho cheese in quesadillas... My friend's enchilada was horrible. We didn't even eat it. In the Togo styrofoams there are like 7 chips.the salsa seemed like it came from a jar. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! My order was incorrect and when I called back one of the workers "Roy" was very rude about how to remedy their error. He was short and thought their error was mine to deal with. I visited Taco E Mas earlier this week for lunch and I must say it was a very pleasurable experience. As I walked in, I was immediately greeted by Aimee. The ambiance of the restaurant was quite refreshing. Tammy came right over to bring us our chips & salsa & took our order. I had the chimichanga with spicy queso with a side of rice & beans. Our food was brought to us in minutes fresh & hot. We just moved into Holt from renting in Lansing for years and with a house full of boxes take out dinners have become normal for the past week and a half. Sick of pizza, I branched out to try this little mexican food place I hadn't really heard much about. What a gem! I'm so glad we took this chance tonight. My daughter (now 3 yrs old) devoured a taco kids meal which came with a hearty taco, chips and salsa. She's also a huge food critic when it comes to refried beans and rice and she cleared a side serving of each. My family also had the tacos, chimichanga, and tostado de frijoles. Some highlights: Neither the tortilla chips or shells were greasy, but they were most likely made in house. And the tacos were very full and not skimping on any ingredients. I thought it had a good balance of flavor and could taste every element. The mild salsa had a surprise heat that came about only after eating it a bit. Everything was very abundant and flavorful (authentic flavor, not americanized over spiced). It was a quick delivery and food was still warm and well packaged when it came. We are definitely keeping this on our list of go to places. read more

First of all I am not an avid yelper or a person who does reviews in general. I love the food at Tacos E Mas but their customer service today is what earned this review. I ordered a couple lunch specials and ran back to work. They had forgotten the Salsa (and they have really good salsa). Accidents happen, I'm not even mad but was a bit disappointed. Didn't write our orders down ( there were 3 of us ) ..corrected the drink order 3 times before she left our table & she STILL got it wrong! Really tasty authentic Mexican food. My favorite item is the chicken tacos. You get your choice of hot or mild salsa and I recommend the hot. The mild just tastes like onions. The hot is more flavorful, but does have some heat so beware. It's a bit pricy but the do run specials so look out for that. The service has been mostly good. It was ok. I had the hot burro burrito with chicken and it was good. My husband however got the chimichanga which was burnt, we requested no sour cream and it had sour cream, it was supposed to have a red sauce and it didn't. We got my son a kids burrito with cinna stix and it didn't have an option for beans or chicken or anything and it was beans which was ok thank god he likes beans. The cinnastix were basically fried tortillas with cinnamon and sugar which was ok but not anything to scream about. All in all it was pretty dismal. I think if you want good Mexican in Lansing you are out of luck. read more

I love this place. I was born and raised in Holt but have since moved on to the Metro DC area. Anytime I am back in town this is up towards the top of my list of places to stop by. I have been known to eater here 2-4 times a weekend when in town. The food is great, standard taco's and burritos with home made chips and salsa. The salsa is different day by day, hot is hot some days and mild others, let's you know it's home made. Prices are fair and the chicken properly seasoned and cooked and is my favorite of the meats. Highly recommend stopping by if you drive by this place often. Also the party platters are AMAZING! I bought two of them for a party not to long ago and they were just plain awesome.
