The salsa is SPICY even to the spice lover so watch out!! If you're looking for fast food, please realize this place is called The Turtles. While my chicken fried steak was just a little bit overcooked and hard to slice into with the provided plastic knife, it was still Southern-style delicious with the cream gravy, mashed potatoes, a fresh roll, green beans with real bacon bits, and a huge brownie on the side with a bottled water ($15). The owner was such a friendly, generous person. She was outside her food truck - not trailer - during this lunchtime event talking to folks waiting in line. Her employees/helpers were very amicable too. I've always heard great things about this food truck, but never had the opportunity to visit it. So glad I did. MaMa E's was established in 2018. Their motto is "where you can taste love in the grub." That's for sure! Their setup was for a large group in downtown Hobbs, so many tickets were pre-sold, but their food truck was nice and clean inside and out - I snooped! Lol. My husband ordered a hamburger, and I ordered a steak quesadilla. I wanted tamales but was told they didn't have any. They really don't have a menu, just some faded signs with no prices on the outside of the trailer, so we asked what all they had. We ordered our food not knowing the cost for any item. We were told the price of $24.00 for the hamburger, steak quesadilla, and two Mexican Cokes!! We were shocked at the expensive price! We waited about 10 minutes for the food. When the order was ready, we realized the food came with fries and a jalapeño. It STILL wasn't worth $24.00. The hamburger was very light-weight and was like one you would get at a concession stand at a ball game, not a restaurant. The Mexican Cokes were not cold and needed a bottle opener to open them, so I had to walk back to the food trailer and ask them to open them for us. The quesadilla was good but didn't come with salsa, and we weren't offered any. The food wasn't bad, just not worth $24.00!!
