Tacos (pastor, chuleta ahumada, and arrachera) and horchata
    Cathy C.

Yelp Review 2023 #67: After going to a taco spot that's highly-recommended by self-proclaimed "taco connoisseurs" and walking away with an empty stomach, I walked back to my hotel and Tacontento was along the way. I had to make a stop and eat some tacos before getting hangry. Service was good. They tend to leave you alone until you wave somebody over to place your order, and pay for your bill. It was already 2pm and the lunch crowd already has their fill hours ago and it was too early for dinner. It was quiet. It was just me and few other people. So good came hot and quick. I like beef and pork in tacos but no lengua, no cabeza, etc. What I got were: Chuleta Ahumada: chopped smoked pork chop. Mildly sweet, and salty. Tastes just like ham. Arrachera: skirt steak Pastor: pork shoulder with pineapple and cilantro. For 3 tacos and an horchata, I only paid 135pesos which is $7. Sauces, onions, and other condiments/ toppings are on the table. The tortilla is made fresh. I left satisfied. They have tacos (in 2 different sizes: chico or grande), burritos, tortas (sandwiches), alambre (meat topped with cheese, chopped bacon, peppers and onions. The only alambre I know is wire so I had to Google this dish because I'm not about to eat wire and join the circus!), volcanes (tostada), and 2 types of desserts (cheese flan, and a yogurt/ pudding).

Great simple taqueria in Reforma serving some awesome tacos at good prices. The tripas is creamy good without crispy bits. Steak is tender. Longanisa (chorizo) is very flavorful. And the al pastor is on the bland side as well. Curious. Comes with charred onion, red and avocado salsa. Pickled onions. Horchata is a bit thin. Beer is good.

I stopped over here this evening because this restaurant was located right along Genova. I did not have a lot of hunger, and I really only wanted something small to hold me over until later. I thought first about getting La Gringa, but it seemed a bit overpriced, so instead I ordered two small tacos de suadero. And yes they we're Indeed small. And at $27 per taco, again I thought that it was overpriced. These small tacos can be ordered at a street corner vendor for $12. I wasn't about to pay $40 pesos for a small can of coke, so instead I just asked for a small glass of water, to hopefully wash down anything too spicy. At this place I believe you are paying a lot for the hot location, and I would agree that it's nice here. I was people watching for a good 15 minutes. The small expensive tacos we're good and the service was pretty standard.

The tacos didn't disappoint. Got pastor and tripas dorados. They sat us down right away. Everyone was following covid-19 rules.

Delicious tacos of various Meats such as sausage, chorizo tongue, pork, beef. Slightly touristy but right off a main plaza. Eat tacos and people watch through the Windows!

Nestled in the corner of some live bands and even livelier bars. Our group almost (and quite literally) stumbled into this joint. Perfect to feed your local grub fix, and cheap to boot. Featuring namely, (and in my opinion) Mexico's greatest export. tacos el pastor. Growing up Filipino, the combination of pork and pineapple speaks to my soul.

I was very tired after a long day plus some jet lag, and wanted some food to take with me to my hotel. Tacontento, there you were. My hero. Although I was tired and wanted some good Mexican food - and I did not want to waste a meal by eating something I could easily get at home. The restaurant itself is quite large and pretty pleasant, so eating there is basic and absolutely okay as well. I ordered two burritos, an al pastor and a bistec, plus some frijoles. I was a bit scared by ordering two as burritos can be big, but these weren't. I suppose large burritos are as unauthentic as 'tacos' in crispy taco shells and guacamole made with sour cream. Nonetheless I really enjoyed these burritos. While they were simple on the outside, the inside was filled with amazingly delicious meat and melted queso fresco. I could not have asked for me. I paired the burritos with a large portion of frijoles. This was equally amazing. A broth filled with beans, spices and pork skin. Really good. As all over this city prices are fantastic. 97 pesos for this. Almost too good to be true and these prices are something that I will miss for sure. Next time you are nearby, you should really go here. You will not be blown away, but the food is great - and many steps ahead of Mexican food in Europe.

Suuuuuch a good cheese!!! We were six people with six different delicious dishes. From tostada over torta to tacos - everything that comes with the cheese is absolutely amazing. The staff is super friendly and quick. Good place to get a good meal. My favorite? Obviously the queso fundido ;)

The tacos de pastor are amazing. I also had some longaniza tacos and they were delicious. The tamarindo water was natural and not from a package. I definitely recommend it.

He estado aquí muchas veces y lo me gusta mas. No se que puedo recomendar ya que todo son rico. Pues, especialmente sus tacos y alambres. Fui aquí por la desayuna. Estuve sorprendo que el mesero recomendó la chilaquiles. Pero, fue rico y este importa. Jaja

I can't even begin to explain our experience here! We were on vacation in CDMX this last week and were walking around town. This place has a very cool name ha ha so I definitely wanted to try it. We ordered two Sol beers and the molletes w/ longaniza. Ugh so damn amazing! The staff was very nice and accommodating as well.

Full disclaimer: these are my first tacos in Mexico City. The trumpo was really good!! Highly recommend! The res was good too, but not super standout. The chicharron itself was really good, but I don't know if I love it in a taco. The trumpo with the pineapple really stole the show. It's nice that the 3 tacos come with some potatoes. The potatoes were good! It seemed smashed then fried. Can't go wrong with frying potatoes. Food came out fast! It seems like this place can get super packed and busy, which I would think is a good sign!

For its notoriety I expected a more grand storefront but it was just a standard food stall. You line up to order and pay and then they give you your food. You can take your food to go or grab one of the few tables next to the shop. The unique thing about this taqueria is that they cook their meats in slabs and place them on the tortillas as-is. They don't chop up your meat into dices and they don't have the typical taco proteins you'd expect either. We ordered most of the meats: steak ($58 MXN), rib ($88), filet ($77), and chop ($88). My favorites were the steak and chop. The rib was a little tough. All the meats tasted better with salt and I liked the green salsa on top. These weren't the best tacos I've ever had but they were good. While its Michelin star meant that I had to try it, I probably wouldn't go back.
