I ordered just two tacos de pollo pechuga and they were much more larger and robust than what you would find at a street taco place. The two tacos were more than enough food for lunch. They basically added the most basic toppings like rice and then I chose to add some green salsa. The green salsa is the least spicey salsa that they offer. My roommate ordered La Gringa torta which is made with pastor. I liked her sandwich because it had pineapples. We both also ordered Hochata drinks which had a lot of sugar which is standard. The service was even faster than we expected, and it didn't take very long for the food to be prepared. We received fast and friendly service here! We were quickly greeted as we walked in and we were told to pick a table. We sat down and the menus were quickly dropped off. The server was great. We were placing our orders in no time and the food was brought out to us right away. We ordered a burrito, guacamole, frijoles charros, and tacos. I did not expect french fries on the tacos so when I got my plate I found that to be very different. The tacos were all delicious. The meats were juicy, cooked well, and the fries gave it the extra touch! My favorite dish had to be the frijoles charros. They were served nicely hot and had a lot of flavor. I stopped over here this evening because this restaurant was located right along Genova. I did not have a lot of hunger, and I really only wanted something small to hold me over until later. I thought first about getting La Gringa, but it seemed a bit overpriced, so instead I ordered two small tacos de suadero. And yes they we're Indeed small. And at $27 per taco, again I thought that it was overpriced. These small tacos can be ordered at a street corner vendor for $12. I wasn't about to pay $40 pesos for a small can of coke, so instead I just asked for a small glass of water, to hopefully wash down anything too spicy. At this place I believe you are paying a lot for the hot location, and I would agree that it's nice here. I was people watching for a good 15 minutes. Great great great tacos. I've had multiple tacos places per week since I've been traveling to Mexico City and so far these are the best tacos I've had. The location is also very vibrant, right next to a fairly busy walkway. Almost reminds me of a miniature La Rambla in Barcelona. I got three different types of tacos, first was the classic Pastor. It had a lot of flavor and was arguably the best Pastor I've had here in Mexico City. Next I went with the Bistec, which is always my go to. That came with onions and french fries on top. Wasn't crazy about the fries so I took them off. But the meat was great. Very juicy and tender. Definitely top two that I've had. Finally I also had the Aracherra and that was my favorite. Tons of flavor and really tender meat. If I wasn't so full I would've gotten another one! I don't usually put any sauces on my tacos just because I want to judge them by the quality of the meat, but they do come with two salsas. Both are pretty spicy so I would recommend go light on either one. Also, the place is cash only so remember to have your pesos! read more

I was very tired after a long day plus some jet lag, and wanted some food to take with me to my hotel. Tacontento, there you were. My hero. Although I was tired and wanted some good Mexican food - and I did not want to waste a meal by eating something I could easily get at home. The restaurant itself is quite large and pretty pleasant, so eating there is basic and absolutely okay as well. I ordered two burritos, an al pastor and a bistec, plus some frijoles. I was a bit scared by ordering two as burritos can be big, but these weren't. I suppose large burritos are as unauthentic as 'tacos' in crispy taco shells and guacamole made with sour cream. Nonetheless I really enjoyed these burritos. While they were simple on the outside, the inside was filled with amazingly delicious meat and melted queso fresco. I could not have asked for me. I paired the burritos with a large portion of frijoles. This was equally amazing. A broth filled with beans, spices and pork skin. Really good. As all over this city prices are fantastic. 97 pesos for this. Almost too good to be true and these prices are something that I will miss for sure. Next time you are nearby, you should really go here. You will not be blown away, but the food is great - and many steps ahead of Mexican food in Europe. read more

We got curious because of the number of patrons in this place. It's a casual fast food place, where patrons enjoy good tacos and beer. In our case, it was good tacos and Horchata and Mirinda (orange pop) :) We made sure that we tried the Taco Pastor, which the chef from the main door labours to prepare. He meticulously slices the BBQ pork (meat) and stir fries it on his flat pan. He toasts the taco shells and places the meat and a generous serving of toppings to complete the dish. The meat is tasty, juicy, and fragrant. Every table is provided an unlimited serving of guacamole and sauces that complemented the tacos. I liked the Pastor over the other tacos that we ordered: Chulleta (ham, but it was more like a special version of Spam) and Longiniza (redish ground pork). They were very good too, but I just found the Pastor more suitable to my taste buds. For the kids, we got them Consome de Pollo (chicken porridge ), which we all enjoyed sharing. It's your typical chicken soup comfort food. But I like this version than the chicken noodle soup you get in the US. This is a great place to get good tasting tacos at a very reasonable price. I became a bit addicted to Tacotento food on a recent trip to Mexico city. we stopped by before checking into the hotel because it was nearby, but I was won over by the egg torta, and went back again and again. The tortas are huge and tasty. I'm vegetarian, so ate the egg torta or chilaquiles every time I was there, but the salsas were really good and helped change it up a bit. It looks a bit touristy, but the staff don't speak English, and there were plenty of locals in there as well, so it didn't seem super touristy to me from the inside read more

There are a lot of great tacos in DF, but this just may be my favorite. There is a decent amount of seating and while it's always crowded, I've never had a problem finding a seat. Over the years I've refined my order to one small taco pastor, a big taco with cheese and fries on it (either arrachera or milanesa), and a beer or an horchata. I live the tacos that have cheese and fries but they are too big to have more than one, hence the small taco to go with it. Service is fast and kind, tacos are reliably great. read more

Came to this place at about 9pm and there was hardly a seat to be had which ended up being a good sign as their tacos el pastor were excellent. I also had a el pastor burrito which was just ok (kind of greasy). Also had 3 Sol beers for a grand total of about $5.75 USD. Service was fast and prompt.
