The carnitas tacos are the BEST! I had the pepino aqua Fresca and elote de vaso. I can't recommend this place enough! The service was quick and everyone was very nice. read more

I love tacos. Taconite's tacos are excellent. The taco fillings are just the right amount. The aqua frescas are as good as they get. The staff is friendly and welcoming. read more

A cool vibey spot to drop in get some amazing tacos. Parking is a beast, but there's some pay for lots across the street a bit down. There's a line around the corner of the building to order your food. At the counter, the staff will take your order and then find you a table to sit down at. They'll tell you the table number to find. The tacos are fantastic!!! Come hungry! read more

Exceptional tacos and agua frescas! There was a line around the building when we arrived on a Friday night (for good reason), and you order at the window before sitting inside or outside. Casual vibes, and each individual food item came out as it was ready. I was blown away by the perfect seasoning on everything- all the meats, the sauces, and the handmade tortillas. The Baja shrimp and carnitas tacos were so tasty! I also loved the hibiscus agua fresca, and my husband's horchata was the best I've ever tried. Would absolutely recommend- it's very much worth the wait! read more

Amazing taco spot in downtown El Paso with an elevated twist--tempura-fried mushroom tacos, pollo, asada, fish, and shrimp. The fried green beans are a must, and the agua frescas are refreshing. Super filling and incredibly flavorful. read more

Awesome layout of the venue, and fun music and overall vibes. Professional, helpful, friendly staff that answered our questions about the dishes. We tried most of their tacos and every one was absolutely amazing. Will be back again. read more

Excellent tacos. I understand the hype. Tortillas were fresh. I will post pics of everything we had. I don't remember the names. Order at the counter and get seated right after. Parking is next door but can get scarce. Everyone was friendly and helpful. read more

Best fresh new tacos in North America. Fight me if you want but you would have to offer me better. Initially I got pork and brisket which any additional sauce was just amazing with the purple inflected taco wrapper. It tasted so fresh and the perfect mixture of fried meat skin was just amazing. Literally drooled as I ate it. I watched other tables and also got the fried green beans and the spicy shrimp cold soup. Sorry, I only remember names after a few amazing experiences. 10/10 if you're visiting try here. The ordering mechanisms is a bit weird but worth it. read more

Taconeta had great late night vibes, but their food was honestly a mixed bag for me. It was packed, so we sat at the bar and the bartender/server was friendly but seemed pretty rushed. I had the mushroom and chicken tacos and elote in a cup. The tacos were solid; I would recommend the mushroom one in particular. I felt like it was a unique taco and I enjoyed the fried tempura bits! The elote was kind of meh, and I would not get that again. Overall, lovely taco spot and would come back! read more

My fav taco place in El Paso my fav are the suadero and I love their Aztec salad. They also have seasonal margs that are mezcal or tequila based - super refreshing ! read more

The best shrimp taco I've had! Try the El Teofilo if you like shrimps! It has shrimps and melted cheese that covers the tortilla.

Excellent menu, so many good flavors. Wish I could go back for the green beans. We ordered the steak taco, fish taco, carnitas taco, green beans, elote and sweet potatoes and would order everything again, except for the hibiscus flower taco. A little too tart but so fun to try. Excellent service, quick turnaround for weekend lunch, dog friendly outdoor seating, fun decor throughout. We stopped on a road trip for lunch and I would go back to El Paso just to come here again. read more

Order outside and then get seated with a table number. It seems like it's bustling here all the time. I got: 1) grilled elote - 3/5. the flavors were good, but the corn itself was not so good. 2) Baja shrimp taco - 5/5. Wish I woulda gotten more of these or with fish. 3) shrimp a la Diablo - 4/5. Different with grilled cheese. But still tasty. Staff are friendly here. Would return if in town again. read more

BEWARE: Horrible Service, Rude Management, and Fraudulent Tipping Practices! We have been to Taconeta plenty of times in the past and never experienced anything like this, but the service and atmosphere here are really going down. I came here with a family of 7 to celebrate a birthday, and it was hands-down the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. From the very beginning, the cashier taking our order had a terrible attitude. They have a new rule where you must verify your order on the screen because they state they will not modify food or send it back after payment--even if the cashier or the cooks are the ones who mess it up. They put 100% of the blame on the customer. We explicitly ordered ALL of our food with NO ONIONS and carefully double-checked the screen to confirm it was correct before paying. Because this is a counter-service spot where you order, sit down, and they just drop off the food, we selected a 3% tip from the tablet options (which showed 1%, 3%, and 5%). They didn't tell us they had already added a 20% tip and the 3% was an "extra tip." It's not even a sit-down restaurant where you get waited on and served. When the food arrived, half of it was covered in onions. When we pointed this out, the servers gave us a hard time and acted like it was our fault. It got even worse when the manager came out. He was incredibly rude, blamed us, and insinuated that we were just trying to get free food. We never asked for a discount or a comped meal--we literally just wanted the food we paid for to be made correctly. It escalated into a yelling match because of how disrespectful he was. He eventually agreed to fix the tacos, but the damage to our celebration was already done. To make matters worse, when we got home and checked the final receipt, we discovered they charged us a 20% tip! A 20% option wasn't even visible on the tablet we used. Modifying a customer's tip amount after the fact is completely fraudulent. Between the toxic management, hostile service, and shady backend financial practices, we will absolutely never step foot in Taconeta again. Check your receipts closely if you eat here! read more

We stop here every time we pass through El Paso since we've discovered it. Incredible food, can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Get the suadero bowl, there's nothing like it! read more

Super yummy! You order food on the outside and then find a spot indoors or outdoors. If you're inside, it does feel like a club with the fluorescent colored lights. It's a vibe for sure, but probably not a chill dinner night vibe. The only thing I wouldn't order again is the elote. I just thought the corn felt undercooked and crunchy. read more

OMG! Possibly the best tacos I've ever had. Delectable! The price was great too. I had three tacos and two margaritas. Price was like $45 with a 20% tip! Very happy. Outstanding! read more

We visited on BTS weekend and might have affected the wait time. In line we waited over 40 minutes. You order at the window and then you are assigned a table. Once we were seated our food came out within 10 minutes. I ordered the tacos (pollo, suadero, and carnitas) and they were delicious! The pollo taco was my favorite. Love the setting and environment. Very chill and relaxing. Definitely recommend it. read more

These were the best tacos I have ever had in my entire life. Hands down the best. Reasonably priced beers and a lot of folks were drinking margs. read more

Fun times tasting the El Paso Mexican fare. This location was next to a coffee shop and had a private parking lot on its opposite side. It has indoor and covered outdoor seating. When we got there for a later dinner it was almost busy...we ordered and then a line formed at the counter. I think Liz ordered one of everything. She came back with two refreshing and delicious margaritas. The tacos and elote were great. We had a lot. The aguachile de camaron was light and spicy. Billed as shrimp in a spicy cucumber lime juice, with ginger, Serrano, and cilantro, garnished with avocado and pickled onion. Really good, not filling at all. My favorite taco was Baja shrimp, but I also enjoyed the suadero. The suadero taco was a preserved brisket with cilantro and onion. The baja shrimp was a tempura fried shrimp with cabbage slaw and a Chile mayo drizzle. I enjoyed an elote on a stick (and I'm a cup). By the bite or by the spoonful, every bite tasted of chili powder, lime and corika cheese. It was a wonderful experience at taconeta. read more

I really enjoyed the Baja Fish Taco because the tempura batter was incredibly crispy.

Amazing service, delicious food, and a really cool place, this was a highly recommended spot that we had to try out during our time in El Paso. It was a bit confusing to find at first since the block is a collection of stores, but once we saw the outdoor seating and ordering window we figured it out. It was quite busy for early evening on Friday so we sat at the bar, which was fun because we got to watch everyone (and there were lots) come by to get food and drinks. We started with the tostadas, which were just packed with guacamole, seeds, and raisins and were super flavorful - I was surprised by how much the raisins added to it; We also got 4 tacos, which weren't the biggest but were really good. And the sweet potatoes that were charred and nicely seasoned. Our bartender was very helpful in offering different mezcal and letting us try some things somewhat local to the area and we really appreciated and liked it all. read more

SOOOOO GOOD! We went twice and everything we had was amazing. We are from LA and I wish we had a place this good. Well done Taconeta.

FIrst of - fantastic tacos - the Baja fish tacos and the EL Teofilo shrimp and cheese were superlative - outstanding, fresh and so delicious. Taconeta - Tacos Near Me - El Paso, Texas

Taconeta is located on Montana Avenue between North Stanton and North Kansas Street. Considering that Taconeta is located close to downtown El Paso, it is pro that they have a nice free parking lot. Taconeta's concept is that you order and pay at the counter before you sit. You choose your table, and they bring the food to you. If the restaurant is too busy, you may also sit at the bar and order from the bar. Taconeta sells tacos and other "South Mexican-style foods." I was impressed by how many vegetarian-friendly dishes they have. I ordered the Watermelon Mezcal Margarita. The Mezcal Margarita was potent, okay flavor, but I didn't love the chili rim. After the margarita, I ordered "Agua de Jamaica" (Hibiscus Tea); it was very sweet and good. I ordered a chicken taco, suadero, carnitas, and Baja Fish Taco. I enjoy them all, but if you are from South Mexico and expect those authentic flavors, they are not exactly as titled. The taco I enjoyed the most was the Baja Fish Taco. They served the Tacos with two sides of Salsas, Green and red; both were flavorful. The red Salsa is mild, and the green is extra spicy. I also ordered an "Elote" (Corn on the Cob), which was good. Personally, all the food had way too much cheese, but I still enjoyed it. The restaurant has beautiful Mexico City-like decor, and they play Spanish Rock. I enjoyed my time there. I will definitely come back. read more

I came here simply to write a review telling you to GET THE TEMPURA GREEN BEANS. They're unbelievable. Crispy. Tasty. Unique. We'd go to Taconeta just for these. Everything else is great too, don't worry. Haven't had a taco we didn't like. Another rec: try the mushroom taco - I'm not the biggest mushroom fan, but the flavor is great and it's not super mushroom-forward, even. read more

So I will be fair and come back to try their carnitas tacos again...but each taco had meat that had a tiny piece of bone in it. If I had bit down harder I would have cracked my tooth. read more

Good food. No real service other than delivering food to your table. There's just food runners so I don't know what the tip is for. I had the pepino drink and it was good.
