All I can say is that this Plate was epic in each and every way. The Korean Fried Chicken was Super Crispy and Tasty. The Ahi Poke was Ono and those Kalbi Fries..Amazing!!! Those Crispy Crinkle Fries topped with Shreds of Kalbi were a match made in Heaven. Those Crinkle Fries really stole the show. I absolutely love Crispy Crinkle Fries when they are cooked perfectly. And of course I had to have Mac Salad with this Plate. There's a reason why Flyin' Ahi Lunch Wagon has a following. Not only is their Menu amazing but the Local Braddah taking your order is one of the nicest guys around . No matter how busy they get this guy's service and attitude is top notch. He's also very accommodating when it comes to making the Plate Lunch to your own specifications and to me that says a lot. Definitely worth the wait, taking off work, and the cost. They give a lot!! Parking is street or next to a parking lot I'm not too familiar with but had plenty parking and quick too. Recommend this food truck!!

    5/5/26 Found it hard to believe that I've never been here considering it has been around forever…read more I was wanting some sweet & sour spareribs which I normally get from Zippy's but they did not have it as a special that day. I read online from several foodies that Ige's has the best on the island and it was their Tuesday special. Easy to find, behind Cutter Ford, past Napa Auto Parts to the end of the building. They are a hole in the wall with a huge parking lot that can get pretty full. I was fortunate to find one right in front. It was just after noon & I was expecting a long line but no, no line. In fact, there were only 2 people at each counter window. They also had some other daily specials so I decided on a mixed plate of BBQ beef tips and sweet & sour spareribs. Got to the window and the guy told me the beef tips sold out so I opted for just the spareribs for $15. I was greeted by 2 friendly employees, a lady at the register and a guy, who got the plates. Service was very quick and the prices are cheap to the massive amount of food you get. They mostly take cash and will take credit card, $20 minimum. The plates come wtih you choice of white or brown rice, and mac or toss salad. It also comes with pickled onions, but they'll ask you if you want it. After I picked up my bag, it was pretty heavy, at least a couple of pounds. When I got home, I wasn't wrong. The spareribs filled more than 1/2 the plate! Taste - hands down the best sweet & sour spareribs on the island, better than Zippy's. Flavor was spot on with just the right balance of sweet to sour. The meat was so tender, fall off the bone. Speaking of which, there were very few bones in this dish! Nice surprise since a lot of places serve theirs with lots of bones & meat is not tender. The pickled onions were ono! The plate could easily be shareable, in fact, it lasted me 3 meals+. Ige's is certainly a hidden gem - great tasting food, affordable prices, quick and friendly service, good value. You can also call in your order and you don't have to stand in the long line to get it. They have a separate window past the main entrance with a sign saying, Take-Out Window. We selected Kuoha Culinary for a small family Celebration of Life for our dad. Chef Ed is so kind and easy to work with. He's busy and he secured our date upon initial communication and assured me he'd provide a preliminary proposal within a few weeks. Here's how I described our catering goals for Ed: Hoping for a fusion of local style comfort foods in an elevated style, fine restaurant quality but "not overly fancy" with several protein options and several veggie options. 2 vegetarian guests, not sure if we need dessert catered. Having never booked catering before, I based our budget on previous restaurant celebrations and gave Ed a very, very wide price per head range and told him I'd prefer if we didn't get too close to the higher end of our price range. As promised, Ed returned with a preliminary proposal and it was lower in price than I expected and included more dishes than I had thought we'd get. Ed recommended drop off service as being the most cost effective and easy option for our event. I requested changes to all three entrees and added a few vegetables and the price remained excellent due to my changes balancing each other out. In our phone consultation, Ed answered my questions clearly, concisely, and confidently. For each case where I asked Ed which of 2 or 3 dishes he recommended, he was able to understand my question and kindly offer his recommendation and he was spot on. Never once did he say the dreaded "it's a matter of personal preference". He just knew what would work best and humbly shared his knowledge and experience. I told Ed my mom doesn't really eat Lup Cheong and he said, trust me she won't notice it and it adds so much to the dish ("Local Boy" En Papillote). Sure enough, mama raved about the fish. I asked him a question about 2 different beef dishes and he explained why the dish he recommended was a better fit for drop off catering. I debated to myself about going with Ed's desserts or getting/making our own, I'm not a big dessert person. Ended up going with Ed and requested an assortment of 3 desserts rather than one, great decision because Ed's desserts were a hit. I was so impressed with my initial interactions with Ed that I was referring people to Kuoha Culinary before I even tasted the food! Fast forward to event date: Ed arrived 15 min ahead of his proposed arrival time. He texted my contact friend and me of his ETA. He politely declined our guests' offers of help and he got everything set up beautifully! Received the most compliments ever on our food! We've had many get togethers with the same people and this food experience surpassed those at previous restaurants and event venues, even the fancy ones. Guests were exclaiming raving about the quality and variety (not exaggerating) complimenting every single dish from appetizers to main dishes to veggies, to the rice to the desserts! Yes, even the humble corn and Hapa rice got rave reviews...seriously! People were scanning chef's QR code and reading aloud about the business at the table (a first) and were so grateful and genuinely wowed. The dishes that were most complimented were the Local Boy Fish En Papillote, Ahi Tataki and the mini tart desserts: Lilikoi Crème Brûlée, Ube Cream, Chef Ed's Chocolate with Haupia The quality was better than the type of restaurant where they give you a deck of cards-sized protein on a plate, with quantity being better than places where you need 2 hands to carry your plate lunch. Best combination ever! Our guests made generous plates to go. I even scraped the sauces into ziplocs to freeze for helping with my own cooking. Hours after the meal and into the next day, people were saying how much they enjoyed everything. The next day, my cousin expressed for the second time how impressed he was with Ed's ability to keep all food at the perfect temperature, texture and consistency. Kuoha Culinary surpassed our goals going beyond merely "impressing" our guests and achieved something even more meaningful: Our guests felt honored, grateful, and joyful. Our experience with Bobby started with private a tasting in their lounge of a few of the things we were hoping to have on our menu. We tried two mains, a salad and a few sides... when I say everything was a smash it, i really mean it! Our package included a third main and we honestly told him he could pick what to bring because obviously he knows how to cook- it'd be impossible to choose! For our wedding we had the kalbi shortribs, garlic shrimp, and huli huli chicken for our mains. Our salad was the one with the warm bacon dressing (OMG DELICIOUS), and we also had truffle mashed potatoes, a ratatouille, rice and i think 3 appetizers. It was ALL so good. Our guests have been raving about it since. Not only was the food to die for, but also the service before and during the wedding too! we had a few dietary restrictions to accommodate and Bobby was so easy to work with and already had ideas ready to go. Then there's the wait staff - who brought my husband and I full plates of everything first, before anyone else. So many people say they don't get to eat at their own weddings and they made sure that DIDNT happen to us. I was still so anxious that I didn't clear my plate but everything i DID eat was just as good as the tasting. The staff stayed and helped my coordinator for the rest of the night as well. After dinner they boxed up all the leftover food for us to take home and I was so happy for that! Since I didn't eat a ton at my own wedding I got to house all of the leftovers with our families. I love that this man is personable and you can really tell the love and passion that goes into his dishes. Rob is such a respectable man and very friendly. You need to inquire on his catering services because apparently he doesn't disappoint. Follow him on Instagram so you can keep up where he's at. Go get 'um!

    Highly recommended!…read more You may not have heard of Pololi 'Oe Catering before. Neither had I until I tried the food at a few luncheons at work. Winner, winner chicken dinner! I knew I wanted to order food from them the next time I had a need to cater. I saw on their Instagram that they also do bentos. Up comes my daughter's birthday party and the need for bentos. Bingo! First call is to Pololi 'Oe. Actually, I emailed, I didn't call. I worked with Carlton via email. He was able to work within my budget and suggest a menu and I was able to give feedback until we agreed on a menu and pricing. Adult and kids bentos: rice, fried noodles, guava chicken, teri beef Adult bentos then added fried fish Kids bentos added shoyu hot dog Each bento had a small handful of soybeans. Just the right touch to add a pupu and a pop of color. This helped it really stand out! Unlike some bentos you order that are full of rice, this bento was packed with food and in perfect proportions. I love their noodles. They use the skinnier chow mein noodle and it's not a heavy/oily recipe. It's light and compliments the super flavorful meats really well. I'm a huge noodle lover so this is a high compliment when I like your noodles! LOL! I had a lot of great compliments, several people asked me where the bentos were from. The taste is different from the typical. It taste like food that's made with a lot of care. I was able to meet Carlton near where he works out of so he was able to waive the delivery charge listed on his website. Please call/email them to work something out, you won't be disappointed. Carlton packed my bentos in a cooler so I could keep them warm until the party. This is aloha... when you allow a first time customer with a small order to take your cooler. Both times when I picked up the bentos and when I dropped off the cooler, Carlton was punctual to the minute, great service in my book! 5 stars all around for awesome food, service and value! I was floored when the cashier said it was $14 and change. Everyone knows the 1/2 pound poke containers, and know how small it is. We're talking beef stew. NOT poke! So I'm figuring, they charge about $30 a lb? I can't believe what was in the container weighed even 1/2 pound. Cashier suggested the mini plate which was $13 and change. One scoop rice and about 10 chopped pieces of lettuce as the salad. Oh, and the stew dumped on the mini container from the half pound container. I should've went to Ige's down the street. The stew was salty. One good thing was the beef was soft and not tough. Cashier was nice too. This is the only reason for 2 stars. Hard pass on the prices here with average tasting stew. Paid cash to avoid any 3% service charge!
