Because our wedding was outdoors, we were a little nervous about keeping everything at the right temperature. We mentioned this early on as a priority, and they absolutely nailed it. It's no small feat considering all the variables that come with an outdoor event, especially in the warm tropical weather of Hawaii, but they handled it flawlessly. The food itself was exceptional -- beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. You could tell how much care went into every dish. And our cake was stunning. It had such a thoughtful, unique flavor profile that included a little nod to New Zealand, which made it feel even more personal and meaningful to us. I honestly can't recommend Tailor Made Custom Catering enough. They did an outstanding job and worked so seamlessly with our wedding planner, Emmarose from TGA, that everything felt effortless on our end. We ended up selecting our a couple of our appetizers and main courses from that very same appointment. She also offers a diverse and extensive range of menu options and is very flexible with her clients' requests, making it easy to find something that suits your taste buds. During our wedding planning process, my husband and I agreed that food was amongst the top 3 important things to execute for our special day, and Chef Bianca went above and beyond our expectations. From early tasting appointment, to email communication and phone call follow-ups, she was patient, professional and very sweet! She also offered us valuable insight and gave us some advice as well when we were stuck on deciding our appetizers. For us, it was really important finding a chef that brings their own unique flavor and style to their food, as well as being able to highlight a lot of the island's flavors. Overall, everything was a hit! From the the cocktail appetizers, salad, main courses and cupcakes! We even got tons of compliments on the bread. So many of our guests kept raving to us about the food; even some kids who are naturally picky eaters enjoyed everything. We can't thank Bianca and her team enough for catering our special day. Her team was particularly friendly and made sure we were well fed and she even packed us up some food for later (which I was very thrilled about since I didn't get to enjoy all our cupcakes during the reception). Literally 30 seconds after I hit "send" on my inquiry I received a phone call from Chef Kelly. She was very collaborative and down to earth. She made suggestions for the menu and quantity of food. She sent over a quote super quickly as soon as we settled on the details. She was very easy to reach via text. No waiting for days for a cater to respond and provide a quote! On the day of the dinner party, she arrived on time and started cooking. We had 8 adults and a 5yo. My son really liked Kelly. She let him help make a small cheese pizza for himself and didn't mind that he was in the kitchen asking her questions from time to time. The adults had lemongrass shrimp skewers, green tea salmon, roasted chicken, plus vegetables and rice. Dessert was a fruit plate (at our request to accommodate some of the guest's dietary restrictions). I thought the fruit plate would be boring but we were wrong. It was actually quite beautiful and delicious. She managed to find the sweetest mangoes that everyone clamored for. I forgot to take photos of all the food. The second event was a kids birthday party. We had the food delivered for this one. The food arrived on time and all we had to do was reheat some of it in the oven. We had an extra large charcuterie box, a box of tea sandwiches, and garlic noodles. We chose the menu to cater to a kindergartner's taste, but the adult guests seemed to love the food as well. I got multiple compliments about the charcuterie box. The Nutella and strawberry tea sandwiches went quickest. My favorite was the truffled egg sandwich. We also had ham and chicken. The noodles were also delicious and very filling. Overall, we would hire her again!

A Very Disappointing Experience with Bamboo Catering…read more This review is primarily about our experience with David Webb, the event coordinator for Bamboo Catering, who had been working with my daughter and her husband for approximately a year leading up to their wedding on August 16, 2026. My daughter put an incredible amount of time, effort, and love into planning her wedding. She made wedding favors, sent invitations to approximately 250 guests, and stayed in regular communication with David to make sure everything would go smoothly. With guests traveling from the mainland and internationally, this was an event that had been carefully planned for a very long time. Unfortunately, Hurricane LaLa was passing through the islands on the day of the wedding. The storm had been widely forecast, and we understood that weather conditions could potentially create challenges. However, what we did not expect was the lack of communication from our event coordinator. The day before the wedding, my daughter received a text from David reassuring her that the wedding was still on and that he would see them on Sunday, August 16, to open the facility early so she and her bridesmaids could arrive and get ready. What happened next was incredibly upsetting. The facility lost power, and the outage lasted throughout the day. Despite knowing there was no power, David did not contact my daughter to tell her not to come to the venue. As a result, her entire wedding party was dropped off at the venue early as planned, expecting to be able to enter, get ready, and begin preparations. David did not show up. He did not come to the venue to explain the situation, help them make arrangements, or even personally communicate with the wedding party. My daughter was left at the venue with her wedding party, not knowing what was happening. Even more upsetting, she was not offered a refund until approximately 1:30 p.m., just three hours before the scheduled 4:30 p.m. wedding. By that point, finding an alternative venue for 250 people seemed almost impossible. My daughter was crying and desperately trying to figure out what to do. When she called David, she pleaded where he was, but he quickly became very rude, scolded her about coming early when he told her to come the day before, and the conversation ended with him hanging up on her abruptly. As a mother, it was heartbreaking to watch my daughter experience what should have been one of the happiest days of her life turn into panic and uncertainty. Our entire family immediately rallied together and began calling restaurants and venues, desperately trying to find somewhere that could accommodate approximately 250 guests on extremely short notice. We had family and friends who had traveled from across the mainland and internationally for this wedding, and we were determined not to let the entire celebration be lost. Thankfully, Legends Restaurant at the Chinese Cultural Center heard about our situation and came to our rescue. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about Bamboo Catering. We understand that weather and power outages are sometimes beyond anyone's control. What was not beyond their control was communication and customer service. If there was a possibility that the facility could not be used, my daughter should have been notified immediately and given the opportunity to make a contingency plan instead of calling off the venue middle of the day knowing this morning that this venue couldn't work. When you are responsible for an event involving 250 people and have been working with a couple for an entire year, communication and compassion should be a priority--especially when something completely unexpected happens. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Bamboo Catering. The lack of communication, failure to provide assistance when it was desperately needed, and the way my daughter was treated during an extremely emotional and stressful situation were deeply disappointing. The way this situation was handled by Bamboo Catering and David Webb is something our family will never forget.

Power duo Jennifer and Mike craft all their recipes from scratch (less the tortillas and chips) using Mike's grandmother's recipes. The chorizo is sinfully savory (with a higher heat index than their other proteins) while the chicken verde is the perfect base for any taco creation. Salsas? Try them all! Their pineapple pico de gallo was the crowd favorite and no one could resist the guacamole (I went for seconds without apology). Jennifer will prepare everything for you and break everything down at the end. My "work" hosting company events is no work at all with her around. We dined at the Galley last night and started with two appetizers: fried manchego with serrano romesco sauce and a hummus plate. Both were incredible. I had no idea that catered food could be so thoughtfully prepared. She and I were able to communicate for a few months before the event via email and she gave me so many different tasty "sample menus" to choose from. She cooked on-site and even stayed throughout the event. She was lovely and had great attention to detail. Not only was ALL the food a hit (appetizers, dinner, dessert), her presentation of the meal was immaculate. Linens were done well and a water station made the event look sleek.
