Taco Wapo is a good, end of the evening hanging out with friends or stopping by after work kind of Mexican place. You have a small amount of seating, are fast and friendly, and have good prices and great salsa that I think they make in the house. It's nothing over the top, but a pretty darn good meal a good price. read more

We've had the pleasure of enjoying Taco Wapo & Burrito Factory both from their food truck and in person at their Greencastle location--and they never disappoint! We first tried their food while staying at a nearby campground, and it quickly became a favorite. The food truck was a hit with our whole group, and everything was fresh and full of flavor. Since then, we've made it a point to visit their restaurant whenever we're in town. My kids are obsessed with the quesadillas and tacos--definitely some of the best around! The portions are generous, and the quality is consistently great. Highly recommend if you're looking for delicious, authentic food with fast and friendly service. read more

My son and I love that place. The food is excellent and the service is great. The place is very clean and has a relaxing vibe to it.

We stopped by Greencastle to explore the city and university and we weren't sure where to grab some food, but we are so glad we found Taco Wapo because it really hit the spot! It's chipotle-style service where you tell them what you want added to your dish and it's prepared in front of you. We split an order of the chicken nachos and this was among our favorite nachos! Highly recommend adding the chipotle sauce. All ingredients tasted fresh and were high quality. If you're coding DePauw or are in Greencastle, you have to make a stop at Taco Wapo! read more

God Nooooo! I hired these people to cater my grandsons first birthday, an event for over 130 people; don't show and we had to order pizza for a high end event that took months to plan; something about a stroke, the wrong date, bhla bhla bhla... Good food but quite expensive. $70 for family of 5 without drinks including a child meal. Be warned Guacamole is $2 extra per person! With that said, we had someone try nachos, quesadilla and street tacos. All were very good and made fast to order. read more

Got the burrito and it was alright, definitely nothing to write home about. Would compare the food and experience to chipotle. You get about 5 chips with your food at the point you might as well not even include them for the price. Overall just go somewhere else, not a bad option but far from the best. read more

Great place to eat! Food, service and staff are amazing. The carnitas burritos never misses. This place might have chipotle beat!

This place is a hidden gem. I'm not from around here, but I happened to be working in the area. I passed by this place not thinking much of it, but decided to turn around for a quick lunch. Boy am I happy that I did. Delicious, quick, authentic Mexican food with high quality ingredients. You know the delicious white cheese? Yeah, it makes a big difference! Also love that they have limes, cilantro, and all of the authentic ingredients that make me crave a real sit-down Mexican restaurant. If you're looking for a quick high quality authentic meal, this place will not do you wrong. Also a huge selection of hot sauce which always gets brownie points from me! Very friendly staff and will definitely be my go-to lunch whenever I am in the area again! Greatly appreciate small restaurants that care about the food that they are serving people with love. Highly recommend read more

Taco Wapo - Steak tacos with lettuce, pico, cilantro, red onion, hot salsa, green salsa, corn, sriracha, and a lime wedge. - Mexican Near Me - Greencastle, Indiana

Food was just okay. Expensive for what you get. Cashier acted entitled and disrespectful. Less than impressed overall.

Always have a good experience here! Food is delicious and the portions are pretty generous. I've seen comments that it's expensive- only if you load up on a lot of meats + get chips, queso, and a drink- but I always just get a chicken burrito bowl + chips and salsa for a little over $10, and it's very filling! They recently added cubanos to their menu that I've heard are delicious. And you can order a slushie, or horchata! Service is quick, and the staff is always very nice, especially the girl who checks you out! read more

This restaurant reminds me of a Chipotle/Qdoba/Moe's with the set up. You can select what toppings/ingredients you want. I went with the bowl, and thought all the ingredients were fresh and the portion was large. I thought the restaurant was very clean and you get your food really quick. Definitely a great place to stop!! read more

Burrito 8.40 Add guacamole 1.99 Chips & queso 4.00 Drink 2.20 ------------------- Total with tax = 16.60 I will just go to a local Mexican restarunt. A family of four would cost $65 or more to eat here; I'm not paying that! read more

I would give it zero stars if possible. This is not good food, I would 100% rather have Taco Bell. Overpriced and Overrated. My family tried chicken, beef, and steak tacos as well as the chicken quesadill. Save youself some money and eat somewhere else or stay home. A ham and cheese sandwich would have been better ‍ read more

What a gem in a small town! Had the Pork Al Pastor tacos on corn tortillas, guacamole, chips, and hot red salsa. Very happy and certainly would come back when in town. read more

This is one of the best places in Greencastle! Everything was delicious and fresh. The best guacamole I've eaten in a long time.

Similar to Chipotle in price and offerings. We had a burrito, burrito bowl, and steak soft tacos. The meat in the tacos was described as "dry" and "hard to chew" while the carnitas burrito was described as "okay." The carnitas did not have much flavor, but they did provide a generous amount of meat in the burrito. The chicken burrito bowl was "good." They offer a plethora of condiment/sauce options, which was welcome, but unfortunate that it was needed. With fountain drinks costing almost $3, and the low flavored/dry protein options, you may want to consider other options in town. read more

Delicious, very fresh food. Clean restaurant. Friendly people. We were just out for a drive and stumbled on this spot. We will be back.

So good! It's also nice to have something different for a change than your everyday mexican restaurant. Pick what you want and it's always fresh, very clean & always friendly. read more

If you like chipotle you should like this place. Definitely liked the wapo sauce. The prices also imitate chipotle, but everything seemed to be high quality/fresh!! I do recommend if your in the neighborhood. read more

Their card reader wasn't working so they had no alternative and I couldn't get my food and they did nothing to make it right

Personally think the prices are extremely high for tacos and burritos. The street tacos were decent, but not for the price. The burrito was ok, again not for the price. read more

Cute spot for what I refer to as 'chipotle but better'! They have great food. The only qualm I have is the guacamole-- whenever I ask for some, they just barely scrape the top of the guacamole container and put in about two teaspoons worth at max to my burrito. And if you ask for more in incredulous shock as you look at this tiny dollop of guacamole, they charge you double for guac, which is already expensive. read more

First time I felt the burrito was lacking, but it was fine. Gave them a second chance and got street tacos. What a rip off! Its one price for burritos, street tacos, regular tacos based on meat. Up to $2.80 per taco with hardly any meat. $15 for three of these, chips and guac, and a drink. This place needs to get the food, and pricing on the same level. Food itself is ok. read more

Kinda pricey!! My husband had the burrito he said it was alright. I had the street tacos and chips and queso. No wheres near enough cheese for the cheese dip. Paid $25.07 for a burrito, chips and dip, 3 street tacos and 1 soda. The food didn't stand out. Wasn't worth the trip. Probably wont be back. read more

The el pastor is amazing! Customer service is always great too! I've seen and heard a lot of complaining about prices..I'm sorry greencastle, this is NOT taco bell! They actually make everything fresh from scratch. It's like no one has actually had real tacos before. So many hatters! I'll pay $10 for an amazing burrito any day! You just have to tell then what you want. They literally do it right in front of you. Too much rice? SAY SOMETHING! Greencastle is evolving and so should you. Keep getting it taco wapo! read more

I was so excited when this place opened and I have not been disappointed! The pastore meat is amazing! I get a bowl every time I go and honestly that is at least twice a week. I've also tried the tamales that they've recently started serving and they are delicious as well. For the people complaining about the price, you need to drive outside of Greencastle for a meal every once in a while if you think this place is expensive . read more

First time at Taco Wapo and would say I am a fan. I ordered a bowl with steak and it was surprisingly awesome. Both kids had quesadillas and they did not leave a bite. I would say its a bit pricey for the local DePauw students as this is basically a localized version of a Qdoba/Chipotle. Will visit again no doubt. read more

this restaurant is pretty much a knock-off chipotle. no problem with that, i don't mind. the food is good. however, the worker assigned to preparing the food spoke little english, which in turn resulted in our food being prepared differently than earlier anticipated. for example, i went with a gentleman who asked how hot the hot salsa is, and his response was the man preparing our food just dumping salsa onto his meal, with multiple other instances of this happening during the same visit. while i understand and completely agree that anyone- reguardless of ethnicity or any other differences should have an equal opportunity to make a living, i feel as though this establishment might be more successful if they placed someone with a better understanding of the most widely spoken language in america as the one to prepare your paying customers food. aside from that, this restaurant is extremely clean and has a very nice atmosphere. it is overall a very nice restaurant. read more
