You have a small amount of seating, are fast and friendly, and have good prices and great salsa that I think they make in the house. We've had the pleasure of enjoying Taco Wapo & Burrito Factory both from their food truck and in person at their Greencastle location--and they never disappoint! We first tried their food while staying at a nearby campground, and it quickly became a favorite. The food truck was a hit with our whole group, and everything was fresh and full of flavor. Since then, we've made it a point to visit their restaurant whenever we're in town. My kids are obsessed with the quesadillas and tacos--definitely some of the best around! We stopped by Greencastle to explore the city and university and we weren't sure where to grab some food, but we are so glad we found Taco Wapo because it really hit the spot! It's chipotle-style service where you tell them what you want added to your dish and it's prepared in front of you. We split an order of the chicken nachos and this was among our favorite nachos! This place is a hidden gem. I'm not from around here, but I happened to be working in the area. I passed by this place not thinking much of it, but decided to turn around for a quick lunch. Boy am I happy that I did. Delicious, quick, authentic Mexican food with high quality ingredients. You know the delicious white cheese? Yeah, it makes a big difference! Also love that they have limes, cilantro, and all of the authentic ingredients that make me crave a real sit-down Mexican restaurant. Always have a good experience here! Food is delicious and the portions are pretty generous. I've seen comments that it's expensive- only if you load up on a lot of meats + get chips, queso, and a drink- but I always just get a chicken burrito bowl + chips and salsa for a little over $10, and it's very filling! They recently added cubanos to their menu that I've heard are delicious. And you can order a slushie, or horchata! The meat in the tacos was described as "dry" and "hard to chew" while the carnitas burrito was described as "okay." The carnitas did not have much flavor, but they did provide a generous amount of meat in the burrito. The chicken burrito bowl was "good." They offer a plethora of condiment/sauce options, which was welcome, but unfortunate that it was needed. With fountain drinks costing almost $3, and the low flavored/dry protein options, you may want to consider other options in town. read more

The only qualm I have is the guacamole-- whenever I ask for some, they just barely scrape the top of the guacamole container and put in about two teaspoons worth at max to my burrito. The el pastor is amazing! Customer service is always great too! I've seen and heard a lot of complaining about prices..I'm sorry greencastle, this is NOT taco bell! They actually make everything fresh from scratch. It's like no one has actually had real tacos before. So many hatters! I'll pay $10 for an amazing burrito any day! First time at Taco Wapo and would say I am a fan. I ordered a bowl with steak and it was surprisingly awesome. Both kids had quesadillas and they did not leave a bite. I would say its a bit pricey for the local DePauw students as this is basically a localized version of a Qdoba/Chipotle. Will visit again no doubt. read more

this restaurant is pretty much a knock-off chipotle. no problem with that, i don't mind. the food is good. however, the worker assigned to preparing the food spoke little english, which in turn resulted in our food being prepared differently than earlier anticipated. for example, i went with a gentleman who asked how hot the hot salsa is, and his response was the man preparing our food just dumping salsa onto his meal, with multiple other instances of this happening during the same visit. while i understand and completely agree that anyone- reguardless of ethnicity or any other differences should have an equal opportunity to make a living, i feel as though this establishment might be more successful if they placed someone with a better understanding of the most widely spoken language in america as the one to prepare your paying customers food. aside from that, this restaurant is extremely clean and has a very nice atmosphere. it is overall a very nice restaurant. read more
