The tortilla looked like someone had bit it.
    Erika P.

Came for taco Tuesday and my experience was not that great. My order was wrong and the cashier was not that easy going when I tried explaining that I was missing my adobada taco. I realize tortilla are hand-made which is actually a good thing but half of my tortilla looked either bit or ripped. Per my pic it looked like I got half of a taco and ALL my tacos looked like that. Their tortilla game needs to step it up cause it's just not the business. Not when you have a taco shop... Overall disappointing.... Not sure if I'd come again.

    Chilaquiles Rojos

Honestly, they might be tired of seeing me. They have the best chilaquiles rojos, plus the restaurant is always clean.

Got the Cali Surf & Turf. This is the first California Burrito that I tasted that doesn't really have pico or sour cream, instead they use some kind of chipotle sauce and melted cheese. It was definitely different but in a good way, but I still wish they included these ingredients. The meat was nice and tender and the shrimp was juicy. Good burrito, but expensive for the price especially for the size of the burrito.

Coming here is like playing scratcher lotto cards, sometimes you get that gas packed up to the brim like an amazon sprinter van. But sometimes you get a string bean skinny burrito like they think im on a diet. Ima keep it real with you, id rather give this place 3 stars but ima give it four because its the only good place to get a burrito on campus. Their taco Tuesday deal is fake news: you can get a carne asada burrito with the same amount of food for cheaper. Their mulitas are alright but still overpriced on taco Tuesday. My go to is the surf and turf double sauce, and when I treat myself i get it cali style with some of that good-good thrown in.

I dont write reviews often, but when I do, it's because a place has exceeded my expectations, or drastically underperformed. For Taco Villa, it's the latter. I ordered a breakfast burrito with sausage... I don't even know what meat came in my burrito. There was also an ocean of cheese on one side, and an underwhelming amount of egg. You can't really mess up this badly, like cmon. Oh yeah, the tortilla was cold. And they were out of green sauce. I've experienced worse, but this was pretty bad. It's pushing $8 too. overpriced.

I'm usually a huge fan of Taco Villa being the location it's at on campus and usually solid food served. Today was a huge letdown those tortillas were not it. The tortillas on both tacos had a powdery consistency which were possibly under kneaded, definitely undercooked. Overall this was a sad experience deserving of tears but Taco Villa is not always bad so giving this review a two star rating as my benefit of the doubt to their usual standards.

    Fish ($2), steak($2.5) and chicken ($2.5) tacos.

Very quick and decent Mexican food. For an on-campus food, it's very money friendly especially on Tuesday and you like tacos. I really recommend chicken and steak tacos. The fish taco is battered so it might not be for everyone who prefer grilled fish. The service is quick and the receptionist was very nice and friendly.

    California Burrito

Taco villa always keeps the heat coming. Had one of the best calis ever the other day. Go tos for this place from a basic eater. California burrito, carne asada burrito, carne asada fries and crunchy tacos.

Came here for $2 Taco Tuesday and was a bit disappointed considering the long line and wait. The tacos for the $2 deal are limited to carne asada, pollo asado, al pastor, and veggie avocado. All are served on handmade tortillas. I got all except the pollo asado. The carne asada was delicious, but it's hard not to mess that up. The al pastor was very dry and too salty. It was a shame because I was looking forward to this one most. The veggie avocado was decent, but the pico-to-other-ingredients ratio was way off. The good thing was I took half off and put it on top of the al pastor taco to help with the dryness. I also ordered the horchata, which was pretty watered down, even without ice. It's a decent lunch for when you're stuck on campus on a regular ol' Tuesday.

    Al Pastor Taco Tuesday Special

This is my number 1 go-to place to get food every Tuesday in UCSD (selected tacos are $2.50 each during Taco Tuesdays)! I always get their al pastor tacos and add their spicy salsa and lime. They give you plenty of meat and toppings which makes every bite as good as the first one! Staff are friendly and the place is great to hangout with friends. Overall 10/10 - would highly recommend everyone to try this place at least once before they leave UCSD!

Our waitress was nice but could have checked in a bit more. We started with the complimentary salsa and chips. The salsa is spicy. Too spicy for us. But the chips were good. We ordered the guacamole to go with the chips. It was good, but definitely needed more salt and lime. May ask for salt on the table once we did that it was fine. She ordered the taco, enchilada, chili rellenos. The portion was large. It came with beans and rice. What I love is the taco comes on a separate plate so it doesn't get soggy from the enchilada sauce. She enjoyed everything, but was unable to finish the entire meal because it was so large. I ordered the fillet and shrimp. The fillet was the most tender cut of meat I've ever had in my life. I could cut it with a fork. They had a nice crust on the outside with good seasoning. The shrimp were a little undercooked, but the sauce was good. It comes with a side of plain rice, which I felt could've been seasoned a little better. Since it was her birthday, they brought a complementary scoop of ice cream, which I thought was very nice. For drinks, she had a beer and I had a virgin margarita which really just tasted like a limeade. With tipped the bill came over $200. Not something that I would do every weekend, but definitely felt festive.
