So...I'm from Great Falls and every time I'm home I have to stop by Taco Treat at least once. I'll agree with what many reviews are saying that it's not classically 'Mexican' cuisine, but it's its own, DELICIOUS thing. Went today to this location and was really impressed by the staff and the food. It was everything I remember. Service was great and employees were efficient and kind. Mediocre overpriced food; terrible service. Boxes containing takeout indian tacos had been turned upside down, the food was scattered all over in the box. The takeout window clerk appeared to be high which might explain the food being massacred before it was delivered. Never, ever, ever again would I patronize this pathetic place. Yuck read more

We don't have Taco Treat in Seattle, but everyone I spoke to in Great Falls seemed fond of it so I gave it a spin. My friend recommended that I get two beef tacos with extra lettuce and a cheese crisp. I was surprised when my total came out to over $7, as this would have been like $3-$4 at a Taco Bell, but I understood when I got my food. The tacos are large, and the shells are somewhere in limbo between hard and soft. It was a great texture for a taco shell. Inside there was lettuce, beef, and cheese. Everything was ok, but I found it a bit bland. I didn't care for the cheese crisp, which was essentially just a tostada with a bunch of cheese melted onto it, but it came in handy to mop up all the toppings that had fallen out of my tacos. I was full after the meal, but in the future I'll probably stick with Taco Bell. read more

If you're looking for classic Mexican, this is not it. What has kept us coming back for 30+ years are their Indian Tacos drenched in their addictive Taco Sauce. The taco is a slab of Indian Fry Bread topped with meat and fresh ingredients. As I dribble a small river of their house taco sauce over top, I never fail to get a "Taco Treat" flashback to the first one I enjoyed. They have remained consistently great over the years. It pains me to only give my beloved Taco Treat two stars, but it's gone down hill in the last few years. The portion size of the rice has been dramatically decreased and I don't remember them piling on American cheese on top of the enchiladas. I had to scrape it off because it was overkill. My sister ordered her nacho/tater tot dish without sour cream and it came out with it. I told our waitress and all she did was give her a fork so she could take it off herself. That would have been okay enough for three stars but the kitchen staff was incredibly loud yelling at one another and there was a lot of profanity. I'm so disappointed at how down hill this restaurant continues to go. It's been my once a week splurge for almost two decades. The last four years has been nothing like it used to be. I've paid for at least 15 cheese fries I never received after getting home and so many countless tacos that weren't in the bag. We don't live close so it's more of a bother to go back and correct what they leave out each time. Hard as a rock nachos and cheese fries that go in the trash. It's absolutely amazing if you dine in, not so much for the drive through anymore. Tonight they charged us for 6 tacos that we didn't receive one, and messed up two other meals. Yes, it is partially out fault to not check immediately what they gave us...but how many times can you mess up over and over and give them another chance? My husband is driving back there now for the 6 missing tacos and 2 other mess ups we paid for. He says never again, but tries every now and again because it's always been my favorite. This native Southern California gal was looking for a GOOD taco and I found it here! My husband and I each ordered a mini Indian Taco...and we were not disappointed. Yummy! We also ordered a plate of chips and salsa and were pleasantly surprised to see that the chips came with smoked paprika sprinkled on them...another yummy! I've been going to Taco Treat for over 40 years and we make it a point to go there when family are in town visiting. The service we received on 7/9/19 at lunchtime was terrible however. Our order was incorrect and we didn't receive the side of sour cream we ordered and paid for. When my son went up to the counter to ask for it, he brought back a tiny packet of sour cream. When I asked for another packet the woman at the cash register demanded 75 cents. She was very rude. Overall, an awful experience. read more

This is basically the most white bread Mexican American food can get. That's meant to be a compliment because other types of Mexican American joints try too hard with their steak street taco shebangs or wood fired salsa Tex Mex mole burritos and other invented Frankinmexican foodstuffs, etc. It's almost like a stoner came up with the Enchatreato which was basically a burrito with enchilada sauce slopping on my fork. Divine-ole! This place is gonna keep me from becoming a vegetarian because they must put crack in their meat. I am addicted to it and I might not move out of Montana unless somebody gives me the seasonings in the recipe, which is a paradox of mild and spicy AT THE SAME DAMN TIME. Once I was in fancy pants Seattle and tried an authentic Cherokee frybread and it came out as a square but this place actually makes bonafide frybread for their Indian tacos every time I order it, and it just might make an American Indian grandma cry, because her grandkids say they're better than hers. Both Missoula and Great Falls deliver consistently great fried tacos, where the deep fried soft shell tantalizingly enters your mouth with melted American cheese, but the overabundant lettuce tricks you into thinking you're eating super healthy. I should give it five stars, but refrain so because I want a little more variety in their offerings. Hey Taco Treaters, come up with some more interesting munchies. I know you can do it. read more

Fast food Mexican changed for Montana. I think they use Velveeta on the tacos. Food was overly greasy and made me feel sick to my stomach. That being said I know alot of Montana locals who swear by this place. Just not for me. read more

This is the Taco Treat location I frequent the most. I like going here with one or two buds and spend time chatting. The staff is good and prices are just right. I recommend getting cheesefries, tacodog, cheesecrisp and large drink. The only drawback is the fact it can get cramped. read more

I love Taco Treat. I grew up in Great Falls eating frequently at Taco Treat. Something has happened at the 2025 10th Ave So location. The last four orders were unacceptable. A cheese enchiladas order had beef, the tacos were minus cheese, the bean enchatrito had beef, and the taco salad with chicken was minus most of the ingredients crammed into a small 'cheese crisp' box. Two of the four cheese crisps were minus the 'cheese'. I will still keep ordering and will scrutinize the order before pulling away. The waiter was nice and once made a comment that it took longer because he had to go back to the kitchen and help the 'new' cooks. I hope the new people are receiving training. I can't give up on Taco Treat. I buy sauce whenever I visit family out of state to take Taco Treat with me on vacation. I am so disappointed in this summers experience. I will go to the other locations and hopefully 2025 10th Ave S will get back on board for die hard Taco Treat fans. read more
