What is the treat? Walked in, read the menu, (I think it was the menu) and realized this is NOT MEXICAN! Walked out. Listen, it's Montana, And maybe Montana people don;t travel too far south, say Texas or Arizona to experience "real" Mexican food dishes. Anyone can put ground beef in a tortilla, add some sauce and call it Mexican. But this place is sooooo farrr away from Mexican. We went into the Westside Treat on Sunday shortly after they opened. After placing our order, we looked for a booth to sit at since I had knee surgery and wasn't comfortable in the metal chairs. They were all dirty so we had to get a rag and clean a booth to sit at. Then we got our food. The hamburger in my enchiladas and burrito had hard black pieces that looked like maybe the leftover stuff from the day before had been nuked and added to the fresh stuff. It was nasty. My husband's chicken enchilada was so salty he couldn't eat it. We left most of the food on the table. We've been eating there for over 50 years, but it will be a long time before I go back. read more

July 3 Let me start by saying I'm a huge taco treat lover. I've been eating it for over 30 years spent thousands. Just got back from taco Treat NW side ; that place went downhill bad Drive-through only Ok sucks but said we'll all eat in the car. the girl at window , Alvina, was very rude, tone was sharp and dismissive, after purchasing I asked if I could also get a gallon of hot sauce and her response was like she had have never been more inconvenienced, it's like she was miserable to be there. I just dismissed her eye rolling and snappy rude responses attributing it to her having a bad having to work 4th of July weekend, so We pull over to eat while it's still hot and ALL the meat in all the tacos was cold.... Also the smallest amount of cheese you could possibly put on a taco.. Not even slightly warm but cold, No napkins no forks for the enchiladas. So my wife goes to ask for forks at the window on foot and the gal says "can you wait a minute and slams the window, my wife has been in the service industry for most her life so after she came back and complained to me I know the lady must've been rude because she never complains on people. tragic cuz I been looking fwd for a long time to bring family we drive from vegas and planed On either their four or five times this week (yes we normally love taco treat) Long story short food and service were unacceptable if I owned this place I'd restaff asap. Taco Treat is a must whenever I come home for a visit! They make the best tacos and you can't leave without having one of their famous cheese crisps! I make sure to buy a bottle of their original taco sauce to take home with me, so I can have a taste of home when I'm craving Taco Treat! read more

I mean, you will only like taco treat if you are a Great Falls native. It isn't really Mexican food, but it's delicious if you were raised on it. I live outside of MT now, but when I come home to visit I definitely eat taco treat. Their hot sauce is THE BEST. I love it & I'm grateful my parents send it to me. I had the smallest mini Indian taco I have ever had. The service was good but the food not so much.

Man, I'm all for supporting local business, but holy Crap!! 2.50 for a TACO?? 3.50 for TATER TOTS?? Taco Treat has so priced themselves out of my lunch budget. Especially since the cost of actually making a taco is under 70 cents. It's not like they have a huge payroll. No 10 dollars an hour there I'm sure. This was my last time at Taco Treat, I have partaken in the "Mexican" food and put up with poor customer service way too long now. While ordering through the drive thru tonight with a friend who had never eaten there we ordered the creamy chicken enchilada, when we pulled around and got our food he checked it out and was not happy with it. It literally was a flour tortilla with cubes of chicken and lettuce wrapped like a burrito and smothered in a sauce that tastes just like cream of chicken soup. Hardly a Mexican enchilada by any far stretched imagination. We asked the clerk at the window if we could exchange it for a super taco instead stating we were not satisfied with the product, and that it was not what we had expected. She told us that she could charge us for another super taco instead but she could not give a refund, she stated "because of food costs" she couldn't do that. We were very surprised to say the least, even McDonalds will replace an item or refund your money if you aren't happy with it, we hadn't even left the drive thru. Have eaten here since the 70's and seen both good and bad. On that note tonight was absolutely the best meal my husband and I have in over thirty years!! Corn shells cooked perfect, and not greasy! Enchilada sauce was also the best in years! Having worked there really forty years ago, this was how I remember everything being made!! Kudos to all the employees and thank you for such a great dinner. We'll definitely be back and hopefully the entire crew of workers do as good of a job as what we just ate tonight!! I'm not sure what happened to this place. It used to me one of my favorites growing up but the service these days is in dire need of improvement. Came through the drive through this evening and waited 15 minutes to get to the speaker to order. Then when I got there, the speaker kept cutting in and out and it made the process confusing. Another 10 minutes and I finally was at the window. When I got my soda it was flat but I do have to give 2 stars for the food being the best part about the whole experience. read more

Went to this restaurant for lunch today. Had been to their fast food outlets and they were pretty bad and you got little for your money but thought I would try the full dining room. There was no sign that I could see regarding seating. So I stood by what appeared to be a waiting error. Must have been passed by five or six servers, none of which looked happy to be there. Waited five minutes. No greeting, no smile, no acknowledgement. They were moderately busy but I'm sure someone could have acknowledged me. I am a big guy but apparently invisible. No way will I ever return to this place. If they are this rude to everyone I don't understand how they stay in business. I don't know the last time I experienced such TERRIBLE service. After waiting at the drive-thru window for about 5 minutes a young man finally opened the window took our payment and handed us our food. My husband asked if we could also have a water. The young man shut the window, swore loud enough for us to hear it and then opened the window with a water. When my husband confronted him after taking the water the young man told him to "F" off. Taco treat west side in great falls mt one of the worst fast food experiences I have had in awhile had to argue with the cashier about how many tacos were on the order in the first place thus ending up with two charges on my card because they screwed up forgot the drink any sort of silverware salsa or napkins then get home and the food is burnt and looks to be two days old I wouldn't feed it to my dog now normally I am a big taco treat fan but this was below par and the attitudes that came with the horrible food were uncalled for read more

The portions at this Taco Treat tend to differ from other ones. PET PEAVE: Ordering extra cheese(which is expensive) on tacos and not receiving extra cheese but ONLY to have less cheese than normal. This tends to happen at this location, where I have to pullover after going thru the drive thru, go inside and physically show them the amount of cheese placed on the taco. Not even enough to feed a hungry mouse.(dramatization). It does not have friendly service. Drive thru is normally where we have rude customer service and then have pulled up to cashier to see them texting on their phone. Only benefit of this place is its the only Taco Treat on that side of town. read more
